    News space witnesses mixed ratings: BARC week 40

    MUMBAI: After dividing Hindi news into Rural and Urban, the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) all-India figures reported that genre leaders continued to dominate their respective categories. News X entered the Top 5 list in the English news space whereas Times Now stood at the number one position. CNBC TV 18 dominated the English business news genre. The business news players except BTVi witnessed a tremendous hike in its ratings.

    In the overall Hindi news genre Aaj Tak continued to lead whereas other players saw an increase in their viewership. The channels in the Hindi Business News space also observed growth in ratings led by CNBC Awaaz at the number 1 position.

    English news

    Times Now maintained its first position with 1340 Impressions (000s). CNN News18 took the second position with 505 Impressions (000s). India Today Television settled on the third berth with 349 Impressions (000s). NDTV 24×7 grabbed the fourth spot with 331 Impressions (000s) whereas News X stood at the fifth position with 147 Impressions (000s).

    English business news

    CNBC TV 18 dominated the space with 582 Impressions (000s) followed by ET Now at the second slot with 339 Impressions (000s).  NDTV Profit and NDTV Prime with 146 Impressions (000s) and BTVi with 18 (‘000s) Impressions (000s) took the third and fourth positions respectively.

    Aaj Tak stood at the first spot with 164583 Impressions (000s) followed by India TV at the second position with 138723 Impressions (000s).  India News sustained at its third position with 132445 Impressions (000s) followed by Zee News securing the fourth position with 118301 Impressions (000s). ABP News took the fifth position with 115601 Impressions (000s).

    Hindi news – rural

    Aaj Tak dominated the rural market with 80034 Impressions (000s) followed by India News with 71270 Impressions (000s). India TV grabbed 62529 Impressions (000s). News 24 managed 54026 Impressions (000s) followed by ABP News with 53175 Impressions (000s).

    Hindi news – urban

    Aaj Tak was at the number one position with 84549 Impressions (000s) followed by India TV at the second position with 76194 Impressions (000s).  Zee News grabbed the third position with 73907 Impressions (000s) followed by ABP News at the fourth position with 62426 Impressions (000s). India News took the fifth position with 61175 Impressions (000s).

    Hindi business news

    CNBC Awaaz grabbed the first spot with 1432 Impressions (000s) whereas Zee Business stood at the second spot with 1006 Impressions (000s).

    MUMBAI: Sun TV continued to be on top across all genres in week 24 of Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) All India data. Meanwhile Colors toppled Star Plus from its second position.

    Even though its ratings fell, Sun TV continued to lead across all genres with 866987 Impressions (000s) in week 24 as against 879042 Impressions (000s) in week 23.

    Colors notched up 696785 impressions (000s) followed by Star Plus which generated 688075 Impressions (000s).

    Zee TV maintained it fourth place in week 24 with 570088 Impressions (000s) while Star Utsav climbed up to number fifth with 521629 Impressions (000s) followed by Sony Max at number six with 484634 Impressions (000s). Zee Anmol was at the seventh position with 458530 Impressions (000s).

    Sony Pal slipped to umber eight from five with 447151 Impressions (000s) and Zee Telugu bagged the ninth spot with 446104 (000s). In week 24, Life OK stood at number ten with 428598 Impressions (000s).

    Even though its ratings fell, Sun TV continued to lead across all genres with 866987 Impressions (000s) in week 24 as against 879042 Impressions (000s) in week 23.

    Colors notched up 696785 impressions (000s) followed by Star Plus which generated 688075 Impressions (000s).

    Zee TV maintained it fourth place in week 24 with 570088 Impressions (000s) while Star Utsav climbed up to number fifth with 521629 Impressions (000s) followed by Sony Max at number six with 484634 Impressions (000s). Zee Anmol was at the seventh position with 458530 Impressions (000s).

    Sony Pal slipped to umber eight from five with 447151 Impressions (000s) and Zee Telugu bagged the ninth spot with 446104 (000s). In week 24, Life OK stood at number ten with 428598 Impressions (000s).

    MUMBAI: After a brief slip from the top position last week, Viacom 18’s Nick jumped back to leading the kids genre in week 19 as per  Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India’s all India (U+R) data in NCCS All 4-14 Individuals category. It jumped on the top spot with 89053 (000’s sums) viewership ratings leading the genre, which is a slight raise from last week’s 88475 Impressions (000’s).

    Nick was followed by Turner International’s Pogo TV in the second spot with 86107(000s sums) ratings, which has fallen from its top position last week with 95257 Impressions (000’s).

    Hungama moved up the list to take the third spot with 71677 impressions (000’s), followed by  Disney Channel in fourth spot after it bagged 66158 impressions (000’ sums). Cartoon Network took the fifth spot with 63751 impressions (000’s).

    When it came to the top five programs in the category, Nick’s Motu Patlu 36 Ghantey Race Against Time  dominated the airtimes with 959(000s sums), followed by Doraemon Movie: Galaxy Super Express on Hungama with 584 (000s sums) ratings.

    Disney Channel’s Doraemon: Movie Gadget Museum Ka Rahasya too did well for the network, and bagged 575(000s sums).making it the third most watched program in the kids genre.

    Nick’s Motu Patlu Kungfu King Returns was the fourth most watched show with 574(000s sums), and  Disney Channel Doraemon The Movie : Toofani Adventure  was the fifth most watched show with 566(000s sums).

    BARC week 19: IPL pushes Sony Max to pole position again across genres

    MUMBAI:  Week 19 Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) All India data saw the pendulum shift back as the IPL season 9 backed Sony Max returned to top slot, but not by much. Last week’s numero uno Sun TV was close at its heels with slightly lower numbers. Star Utsav moved down to the tenth position in week 19, while Zee Telugu,  the only other regional channel among the top 10, moved up a place to ninth from the previous week’s tenth slot. The list covers the top 10 channels across all genres.

    Sony Max reported 944851 Impression (000s) in week 19 to claim first place closely followed by Sun TV with 944626 Impression (000s) which were significantly higher than the previous week’s 907221 Impression (000s) which had catapulted it to number one in week 18.

    Colors with 703707 Impression (000s) in week 19 as compared to 696037 Impressions (000s) moved up one place to third spot, while pushing down last week’s number three –Star Plus down one place.

    Star Plus bagged the fourth position with lower ratings in week 19 of 664177 Impressions (000s) as compared to last week’s 701000 Impressions (000s) 

    Zee TV retained fifth space in week 19 with lower ratings of 639647 Impressions (000s) as compared to 651225 Impressions (000s) in the previous week. Sony Pal remained at number six with 503774 Impressions (000s) as compared to the previous weeks 535090 Impressions (000s).

    Zee Anmol   maintained its previous week’s seventh rank with 500101 Impressions (000s) in week 19 as compared to 506949 Impressions (000s) week 18. Life OK also retained eighth spot with 471354 Impressions (000s) in week 19 as compared to 473477 Impressions (000s) in the previous week.

    The only other regional channel in the list of top ten channels across genres, Zee Telugu, moved up to ninth spot with 46866 Impressions (000s) in week 19 as compared to 1 445884 Impressions (000s) in week 19.

    Star Utsav moved down to the last place with 453454 Impressions (000’s) in week 19 as compared to 466912 Impressions in the previous week.
