    Vuclip hires Vishal Maheshwari as country manager – India

    MUMBAI: As it gears up to launch its Over-The-Top (OTT) video streaming service in the country, Vuclip has roped in former Yahoo! India director Vishal Maheshwari as country manager in India.

     

    Maheshwari’s core responsibilities will include driving consumer adoption, engagement and monetisation for the video on demand (VOD) service in India through strategic partnerships, service innovation and consumer insights. 

     

    The appointment also reflects the company’s strategic intent to expand market share in a hyper competitive VOD market like India post the entry of international players like Netflix and HOOQ.

     

    What’s more, Vuclip is also looking at transitioning from a B2B to a consumer facing company.

     

    Maheshwari joins Vuclip with over 15 years of experience in the telecom and mobile internet space with organisations such as Yahoo! India and BPL Mobile, and 10 years of product and brand management experience at Parle, Warner Lambert and SBI Cards.

     

    Vuclip COO Arun Prakash said, “We are excited for Indian consumers in 2016 to experience a whole new way of entertainment on the go and pleased to have Vishal come on-board to lead our OTT service in India. With India in digital overdrive, creative thinking, fleet-footedness and focused execution are required to win over consumers’ hearts, minds and devices.   • Havas makes Sr level appointments in Mumbai & B’lore

    MUMBAI: Havas’ creative vertical Havas Worldwide has brought on board Gaurav Soi and Tiraz Balaporia for its Mumbai and Bengaluru offices respectively.

    While Soi has been roped in to handle duties as Havas Worldwide Mumbai vice president, Blaporia will be Havas Worldwide Bengaluru office head and vice president.

    The duo will report in to Havas Worldwide west and south president Shavon Barua.

    Confirming the news to indiantelevision.com, Barua said, “I am delighted to have them as a part of our team. At Havas WW we are focussing in bringing about a whole lot of new talent in our teams as our business continues to grow.”

    Soi has spent 13 years in the advertising industry and has worked on a variety of brands and categories during this tenure like Saffola Oil and Salt, ITC Expressions Greeting Cards, VST, BPL Mobile, Frooti, Appy Fizz, Dainik Bhaskar Group, AUDI, Suzlon Energy Limited, Reliance Mutual Funds, Cox & Kings, and Fortis Healthcare. He also has experience with events and activations.

    Balaporia’s previous stint was with Bates where he had been for a year and a half and worked on brands like Tata AIA, TVS, Fiat, Ashok Leyland, and Park Avenue. This is his second innings at Havas Worldwide (earlier Euro RSCG) where he spent six and a half years as a part of both, Mumbai and Bengaluru teams. While in Euro RSCG he handled brands like HDFC Payment Cards, Emirates, Sanofi-Aventis, Bhaskar Group, BPCL Allergan, and IBM.

    “With close to 13 years of work experience across multiple bands and categories he has been appointed Office Head with a mandate to take the Bangalore Office to greater heights, picking up where he left off from,” informs Barua.

  • Indigo Consulting beefs up its creative force

    MUMBAI: Indigo Consulting has made additions to its creative department to further strengthen its team. The digital agency that operates under Leo Burnett in India has got back Viresh Pawar and Monish Beloskar who have rejoined the agency in the capacity of senior group head creative and group head creative respectively to help drive Indigo Consulting’s creative mandate.

    Former creative strategist for Jack In The Box Worldwide, Manav Parekh, has also joined the agency as associate creative director – copy.

    Indigo Consulting creative director Navin Balakrishnan said, “With an ever-evolving business environment, in which consumers are co-creators of brands, creativity ultimately sets a brand apart.     Prior to committing to his second stint at Indigo Consulting, Pawar worked with Interface Communications where he was senior supervisor, web design. Over the past decade, he has helped build digital identities for brands such as Oreo, Mahindra, HDFC Bank, HSBC Bank, BPL Mobile and Wipro.

    Beloskar has 12 years of experience in interactive design. He rejoins the agency, from Puretech, where he was the design lead. His portfolio includes work for brands such as Gatorade, Kurkure, Panasonic, WWF, CondeNast Traveller and Piramal Group.

    As a creative strategist, Parekh has worked on brands such as Red Bull India, Sony Music, PUMA, Windows Phone, Adobe India, Budweiser and Bacardi. In his new role at Indigo Consulting, he will work closely with Balakrishnan to assist in the ideation process as well as guide and nurture talent in the team.
