    Akshay’s Boss gets into the Guinness Book for the largest poster

    Actor Akshay Kumar’s film has created another record even before its release – it has entered the Guinness of World Records for the largest film poster in the world, a record so far held by Michael Jackson’s This Is It.

     

    Akshay’s fan club, which calls itself Team Akshay, decided to swing into action. Logistics were put into place and work had begun to make a special poster of Boss that would be the largest poster in the world which was completed in four months.

     

    The largest poster in the world was achieved and unveiled at Little Gransden Airfield, Little Gransden, UK, on 3 October. Macro Arts (UK) did the manufacturing of the poster. Incidentally, Macro Arts is the same company that had made Michael Jackson’s poster.

     

    The world’s largest poster of Boss is 58.87 metres wide and 54.94 metres high. When the Guinness officials came to measure it, it was recorded that the Indian Boss film poster had beaten Michael Jackson’s record by a 15 to 20 per cent margin.

     

    The official certification for the same was done in the UK itself and the Boss poster also finds a mention on the official Guinness website.

     

    Actor Akshay Kumar said, “It’s a matter of honour. I thank everyone who made this possible.”

    The actor will be seen donning a cowboy avatar in the film BOSS, for the song Har Kisi Ko Nahi Milta.

    Akshay was keen on shooting this video in true Feroz Khan’s style, the Bollywood superstar has always been a big fan of Khan. He wanted the look of the song to be very stylish and quite larger than life, that’s where the ranch (farmhouse style with horses, mills) setting came in. This is Akshay’s way of paying respect to the great actor and director Feroz Khan.

    Along with Akshay the song features Sonakshi Sinha and has a backdrop in a ranch with beautiful white horses running around the duo.

    When quizzed Akshay about him donning the late Feroz Khan’s style he said, “I consider Feroz Khan to be the Boss of coolness and style. I hope I have been able to do justice to his personality.”

    Produced by Viacom 18, Cape of Good Films and Ashwin Varde Productions, BOSS is directed by Anthony D’souza and stars Akshay Kumar, Mithun Chakraborty, Shiv Pandit, Aditi Rao Hydari, Johny Lever and Danny Denzongpa.
    The BOSS will hit the screens on 16 October.

    Boss ties-up with Chacha Chaudhary

    The popular comic character Chacha Choudhary is tying up with Akshay Kumar because both the comic character and the actor in his forthcoming Boss are middle class persons who help people in distress.

     

    Akshay’s character of Boss will be featured in a special edition of the comic book in Hindi and English showing him joining Chaudhary to fight the enemies. The edition will be launched by Akshay in Delhi.

     

    Akshay said, “I have been a fan of Chacha Chaudhary and Sabu since my childhood. I feel honoured that my character of Boss will now be featured alongside them in a special comic book.”

     

    Comics of the character have become a cult brand and sold over 10 million copies over the years.

     

    Speaking about the tie-up of Boss with Chacha Chaudhary, Viacom 18 Motion Pictures head – marketing Rudrarup Dutta said, “Chacha Chaudhary is a legendary Indian character, an entire generation has grown up reading Diamond Comics’ Chacha Chaudhary. This special edition will have the Boss – Akshay Kumar – join the team to vanquish their enemies. Apart from a unique medium which connects with the target audience, especially children, to promote the film it also is a matter of pride to be part of this collector’s edition of one of the most loved Indian comic books.”

    From Khiladi to BOSS – Akshay Kumar – is one of the finest actors in the film industry at present.

     

    Over the years he has successfully promoted new talent in the film Industry, like Shiv Pandit in BOSS

     

    But this time the actor has gone a step ahead and has spotted a TV Actor Akash Dabade for a pivotal role in BOSS. Akshay went through many audition rounds and there were also few established names which were shortlisted, but somehow he wasn’t convinced.

     

    “It so happened that one day when Akshay was watching TV he spotted Akash in a television commercial for a mobile company, impressed by his sense of humor and acting Akshay immediately told his team to get in touch with Akash and signed him for the role without an audition,” confirms a source.

     

    The best part is that Akash has turned out to be one of the highlights of the film and is a guy to watch out for. Produced by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures, Cape Of Good Films and Ashwin Varde Productions BOSS is all set to release this on 16 October.

    BOSS teaser to hit the screens on 15 Aug

    MUMBAI: The most eagerly awaited action comedy of the year, BOSS, is all set to start a new trend. Well this Akshay Kumar starrer is certainly changing the ways how films are promoted nowadays.

    How many times have we heard about a teaser that announces the launch of the trailer of a film? And how many times have we seen a teaser that’s already become the big buzz in Bollywood days before it has hit the screens?

    Two days after private screenings of the teaser and it’s already become the latest rage.

    The teaser of BOSS will be released theatrically with Once Upon Ay Time In Mumbai Dobaara, which releases on 15 August. The theatrical trailer will be released with a lot of fanfare on the 27 August.

    Producer Ashwin Varde says, “This is the first time something like this is being done in our industry and we are all excited about it. The idea is to build up anticipation for the film, which hits the screens on October 16. We’re all humbled with the exceptional response to the teaser itself. It gives us greater motivation to deliver to the best of our abilities.”

    BOSS features Akshay Kumar in the title role. The film also stars Mithun Chakraborty, Shiv Pandit, Aditi Rao Hydari, Johnny Lever and Danny Denzongpa.

    BOSS is produced by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures, Cape Of Good Films and Ashwin Varde Productions and is directed by Anthony D’souza (who had previously helmed Akshay in BLUE). It is all set to release this October.

    Akshay’s ‘Boss’ to feature biggest club song

    MUMBAI: Akshay Kumar along with Sonakshi Sinha is all set to take ‘Boss‘ to the next level. Titled Party All Night, the song is touted to be the biggest club song of the year and it is heard that the producers are sparing no efforts to make it the blockbuster chart buster.

    This song will also have the added attraction of Yo Yo Honey Singh. News is also that it will be for the very first time that Akshay Kumar will be working with music director Sumit Dutt who has been a Salman Khan favorite and has been the man behind various blockbuster hits like Dhinkachika, Character Dheela, Desi Beat and many others to his credit.

    While Sumit Dutt will direct the song, ace choreographer Raju Khan will be making Akshay and Sonakshi sway to the beats.

    The shooting of the first part of the song is over and was shot in one of the suburban properties in Mumbai while the other half is scheduled to be shot in Bangkok next month. Buzz is that a mammoth crowd of over 600 dancers and junior artistes will be a part of it.

    A source close to the team said, “In the film, the song comes at a very integral point, which is why Akshay wants to make it his biggest and best song to date. Akshay is wearing a leading international designer‘s costume.”

    The song has been designed as the ultimate club number of 2013. It is the first full, all-out dance number that Akshay has done in years. This is his return to hard core dancing.

    Akshay Kumar to remake Pokkiri Raja in Hindi

    MUMBAI: Akshay Kumar has bought the remaking rights of Malayalam film, Pokkiri Raja.

    Titled Naam Bhai Boss, the film will have Kumar and Imraan Abbas reprise the roles that Mammootty and Raavan star Prithviraj essay in the original.

    The film revolves around Madhavan Nair who unknowingly kills a teenager and his eldest son, Raja, take the blame and is sentenced to jail for five years.

    After returning from jail, Raja moves to Madhurai where he rescues the life of the daughter of Maniannai. The village landlord hen turns his right hand. He is named as Madhurai Raja. Years later, he started being known as Pokkiri Raja.

    The film will be directed by Antony D‘souza.

    Incidentally, Kumar has also bought the rights of the super hit song ‘Appadi Podu‘ from the Tamil film Ghilli and plans to use it in Naam Bhai Boss.

    The film is expected to hit the screens by the end of this year.
