    MUMBAI: Content may be King, but so is the viewer. Sony BBC Earth, India’s premium factual entertainment channel, takes another leap in audience engagement by giving viewers the choice to pick their favourite shows of 2018 on the channel. 

    Last year, Sony BBC Earth made the viewers feel alive with a specially curated ‘Best of Earth’ line-up. This time, fans can go on the website https://www.sonybbcearth.com/bestofearth and vote for their favourite show of the year. This unique initiative is the channels’ attempt to bring consumer preferences to the fore.  

    The channel has handpicked iconic shows of all times ranging from science and nature to adventure and human interest stories that enlighten, engage and entertain. One can choose from legendary shows like Planet Earth II, Blue Planet II, Snow Bears, Made by Destruction, Rick Stein’s India, Attenborough’s Big Birds and more.

    Voting ends on December 21st and the five most voted shows will air on the channel starting 24th December every night at 7PM as part of ‘Best of Earth 2018’. Audiences can watch their favourite shows, picked by them, and Feel Alive only on Sony BBC Earth.

    MUMBAI: All eyes on TV as India’s #1 factual entertainment channel, Sony BBC Earth, premieres the world-renowned, path breaking and breath-taking series Blue Planet II for the Indian audience on June 25th at 9 pm.

    Given the spectacular prowess of its content, Sony BBC Earth released the first two episodes of the legendary series in theatres exclusively with PVR cinemas across 22 cities on 18th May 2018 and became the talk of the town with the kind of response and support it received. The show which is now ready for a television premiere has attracted marquee advertisers including Indian Oil as the Presenting Sponsor and Nivea, Too Yumm, Aquaguard and Abbott as Associate Sponsors.

    PVR, which is the exclusive multiplex partner for Blue Planet II, will be running the show promo across 32 theatres in 9 cities – Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Bangalore, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, Ahmedabad for 2 weeks to promote the Indian television premiere. Additionally, Mad Over Donuts, India’s premium and most loved Donut brand, is the on-ground Partner and has launched a special ‘Blue Planet II themed’ menu comprising customized donuts and a beverage, which will be available across 55 outlets in India.

    Narrated by the godfather of natural history Sir David Attenborough, Blue Planet II tells unique, untold stories of the ocean’s most astonishing creatures with a promise to make viewers feel alive not just with the visuals but also with the music that is composed by award-winning composer, Hans Zimmer. Shot over 1406 days with 125 expeditions across 39 countries, the series was filmed in depths as far as 8km across 4,000 dives with more than 6,000 hours of underwater footage!

    Sony BBC Earth hosts Blue Carpet Premiere for the iconic ‘Blue Planet II’

    MUMBAI: Red Carpet is passé. Royal deserves Blue. India’s #1 factual entertainment channel, Sony BBC Earth, is hosting the first ever Blue Carpet event in India for the most iconic story of the year – Blue Planet II. 

    Influencers from various fields including wildlife enthusiast, film and TV celebrities gathered to watch the legendary story that gives an immersive experience into the amazing underwater world. Shot over a span of 4 years with 125 expeditions across 39 countries, Blue Planet II – One Ocean and The Deep will exclusively release in 48 PVR theatres across 22 cities on May 18, for an astounding cinematic experience.   

    To promote this unique initiative, Sony BBC Earth has deployed a massive on-air, on-ground, in-cinema and digital campaign. To begin with, the entire Sony Network has come together to promote the premiere on the respective channels. In addition to a robust outdoor and print campaign, the channel got into a strategic partnership with the electronic retail giant Croma to showcase grand content of Blue Planet II on their TV screens across 94 retail outlets in 13 cities.

    Theatrical release partner PVR is running an extensive, 5-week long in-cinema promotional campaign across 300 screens to give viewers a peek into the spectacular visuals. Social media handles of Sony BBC Earth and PVR are already abuzz with people showing boundless enthusiasm for the upcoming release.
