Aiming to connect with young minds across the country and helping them realize their true potential, Acer India has partnered with Bloomberg TV India in the show ‘The Pitch’. A one-of-its-kind show, The Pitch invites India’s best entrepreneurs to a contest of skills and business plans.

    The Friday, 18th October episode of The Pitch show will feature contenders creating innovative television commercials for the top-of-the-line Acer S7 Ultrabook. Every week viewers stand a chance to win an Acer Iconia B1 tablet by answering two simple contest questions. The grand finale of the contest will witness one lucky viewer taking home an Aspire S3 Ultrabook by successfully guessing the final winner of the show.

    Bloomberg TV India boomerangs back to Havas Media India

    MUMBAI: The Bloomberg TV India media account has bounced back to Havas Media. The business news channel has decided to part ways with Aegis Media’s Vizeum India which has handling its media spends for a while and go back to Havas. Bloomberg TV India’s estimated media spend about Rs 7 crore per annum, and the win means that another blue-chip brand – this time in the media space – has been added to its client roster.

    Says Bloomberg TV India President Sriram Kilambi: “Bloomberg TV India is all about catering to the elite key decision makers. Havas has demonstrated expertise in using media innovatively and we look forward to a great new relationship.”

    The TGI (Target Group Index) study – an internationally syndicated product – covers an extensive database of more than 35,000+ respondents amongst 190+ towns in India, and is the most in-depth study on media & product consumption, lifestyle habits & psychographics.

    According to IMRB TGI India’s findings, CNBC-TV18 enjoys the highest viewership rate as compared to other channels in the English Business News genre. The channel has consolidated its top position ahead of its competitors by continuing on its trajectory of growth, with benchmark coverage and continuously raising the bar in the business news genre.

    IMRB TGI India 2013 study reveals that CNBC-TV18 delivers more than three times viewers, who are professional Graduates/Post Graduates or PhDs, vis-?-vis other business news channels. The study also pointed out that more entrepreneurs are viewers of CNBC-TV18 as compared to viewers of other English business news channels.     Aereo to launch in Atlanta next month

    MUMBAI: Aereo which has caused heartburn among US broadcasters has announced that Atlanta will be the next market to receive its streaming TV service. Aereo converts television signals into computer data and sends them to new media devices like the PC.

    It will launch there next month. It is already present in Boston and New York. Aereo founder and CEO Chet Kanojia said, “We‘re grateful and humbled by the continued support we‘ve received from consumers for our technology. The response and enthusiasm from consumers across all of our expansion cities has been phenomenal. It‘s clear that consumers want more choice and flexibility in how they watch television and they don‘t want to be fenced into expensive, outdated technology.”

    “Aereo‘s antenna/DVR technology brings the old-fashioned antenna into the 21st Century, providing consumers access to the over-the-air broadcast signals that belong to them. We‘re thrilled to be coming to Atlanta and look forward to our launch in June,” he added.

    Aereo will offer 27 Atlanta-area broadcast channels and the Bloomberg TV cable channel. The service will be limited to residents of 55 counties in Georgia, Alabama and North Carolina.

    There have been lawsuits over Aereo which it so far has won. Channels like Fox have threatened to go to cable over the issue. Aereo adds that its remote (cloud-based) antenna/DVR technology makes watching television simple and user-friendly. Using Aereo‘s technology, consumers can pause, rewind and fast-forward any program that they are watching live, or save a programme for future viewing.

    Bloomberg UTV to be rechristened as Bloomberg TV

    MUMBAI: English business news channel Bloomberg UTV will be shedding the UTV brand name from 13 August, giving it an identity that is known across the world as a news brand.

    The channel will be called Bloomberg TV, getting rid of a popular entertainment brand name in India.

    Confirming the name change, Bloomberg UTV head Sriram Kilambi said, “UTV is an entertainment brand. We were thinking of renaming this channel since quite some time now as it should have a more serious name to it. Hence, we have renamed it to Bloomberg TV.”

    The latest campaigns of Bloomberg UTV, created by Triton Communications, also have ‘U’ in the brand name greyed.

  • Bloomberg TV to look ‘Inside India’ tomorrow

    MUMBAI: European news broadcaster Bloomberg Television will air a special Inside India on 25 September . Bloomberg’s Haslinda Amin gives viewers an in-depth look at the challenges confronting India’s expanding economy 60 years after its independence.

    Reporting from India, Bloomberg will examine investment opportunities,the debate surrounding India’s special economic zones, India’s retail revolution, the country’s developing infrastructure and the trend of “reverse outsourcing” jobs to the West.

    India’s Financial Minister Palaniappan Chidambaram tells Bloomberg’s Amin “India is attracting foreign investors now. Better infrastructure will attract more investors and more foreign investments. This process of economic reforms and economic growth has to continue for at least another 20-25 years before many of our objectives are achieved,” .

    In addition to Financial Minister Palaniappan Chidambaram , the programme features interviews with Minister of Commerce and Industry Kamal Nath Wipro chairman Azim Premji, Bharti chairman Sunil Mittal, Suzlon Energy chairman Tulsi Tanti, ICICI Bank’s Nilesh Shah and Citigroup India CEO Sanjay Nayar.
