    Big Magic to launch new seasons of ‘Mahisagar’ & ‘Akbar Birbal’ on 22 February

    MUMBAI: Big Magic will be strengthening its bouquet of shows with the launch of a new season of Mahisagar titled Naya Mahisagar. Starting from 22 February, the show will be aired at 7 pm.

    Additionally, as was previously reported by Indiantelevision.com, the channel is also brining the new season of its popular showAkbar Birbal titled Naya Akbar Birbal, which will also go on air on 22 February in the 7:30 pm time band. 

    Set in the backdrop of Gujarat, Naya Mahisagar produced by Hats Off Productions, is the show with an amalgamation of fun, fantasy and humour. On the other hand, produced by Nikhil Sinha’s Triangle Company Naya Akbar Birbal is inspired by the childhood folk tales of Akbar and Birbal and will see a lot of drama, suspense and thrill with signature spurts of comedy.  

    On the launch of new season, Big Magic creative director Bimal Unnikrishnan said, “Mahisagar was a great family entertainer and we wanted our viewers to enjoy a brand new season of this much loved show. With Naya Mahisagar, our idea is to bring forth a hilarious show with a combination of fun, fantasy and humour, appealing to our target audience. We are confident that the new season will be embraced by viewers with the same love and affection.”

    Akbar Birbal is one of the popular show of Big Magic. The first season did extremely well and on audience demand we are all geared up for one of our biggest launches of 2016,” he added.

    Both the shows will see a robust multi-media promotional plan across key markets, which will include a 360 degree marketing campaign. The radio network will engage with viewers and trade partners locally and nationally through multiple platforms.

    Big Magic launches new devotional show ‘Bhor Bhakti’

    MUMBAI: Big Magic has launched a new devotional show Bhor Bhakti with actor Vishal Karwal as host.

    The show went on air on 3 February and will be telecast daily from 8 – 9 am.

    Bhor Bhakti is based on what we follow as a panchang on that day. The show will collaborate with regional singers and musicians and viewers will be treated to devotional songs including Aashavadi Bhajan, Ashavadi Geet, Hanuman Chalisa, Krishna Bhajans, Kabir Amritwani, Bholanath Bhajans. It will share philosophies of life with viewers.

    Titled Naya Akbar Birbal, the show will premiere as a prime-time weekly from February 2016.

     

    The show is inspired by the childhood folk tales of Akbar and Birbal and will see a lot of drama, suspense and thrill with signature spurts of comedy.  

     

    Cast of the show features Kiku Sharda, Vishal Kotian, Delnaaz Irani and Kishwar Merchant. It is also rumoured that the show will have another member this season, who will be seen creating havoc and drive her own agenda in the kingdom.

    Big Magic targets kids with dedicated animation band

    MUMBAI: Reliance Broadcast Network Limited’s comedy channel Big Magic is all set to pump in some fresh content by launching a dedicated time band of animated movies and series called ‘Magic Masti Matargashti.’

     

    While the series are handpicked especially for kids, the animation movies will cater to the entire family.

     

    Starting 25 January, the animation series band is aimed at inculcating the right values in kids in a fun and engaging manner. The series will air for one hour in the morning and in the afternoon, every Monday to Friday at 9 am and 4 pm.

     

    Animation movies, which have been airing on the channel for the last few weekends, will be telecast every Saturday and Sunday at 12.30 pm.

     

    Big Magic creative director Bimal Unnikrishnan said, “With the animation band, our aim is to augment our existing content on the channel. After an in-depth research analysis, the results showed us a definite acceptance and liking towards the animation genre. In fact, it is one those key drivers, which connect kids with their parents.     This Diwali, Big Magic & 92.7 Big FM presents ‘Ji Sirji’

    MUMBAI: Big Magic poised to be the ultimate comedy destination from Reliance Broadcast Network Limited, launches yet another innovative concept from its bouquet of differentiated content titled Ji Sirji.

     

    In line with its integrated programming strategy, this is the fifth successive show being launched by the network, which will air from November 11th, every Wednesday, Thursday at 10 PM on Big Magic and Wednesday, Thursday at 9 PM on 92.7 Big FM.

     

    Versatile actor Anup Soni will be seen taking the audiences on a hilarious ride, as he would bring forth day to day shenanigans in a professional work set-up, focusing on the relationship between bosses and their subordinates in the form of funny sketches. The show will also witness various actors playing roles of subordinates, who are usually at the receiving end of the whims and fancies of their respective bosses. One of the popular names playing a subordinate on the show is actor Gaurav Sharma, who is known for his character of Pappu from Total Nadaniyaan.

     

    Talking about the new integrated offering, Big Magic creative director Bimal Unnikrishnan said, “Our current programming strategy revolves around conceptualizing content that resonates easily with our target audience, with a high degree of humor and entertainment.     Each episode of Ji Sirji will see multiple sketches, each focusing on a profession, various types of bosses and their behavior. Anup Soni will be seen playing a boss who has an OCD issue to being unreasonable, sadist, foolish, insecure and many more. Moreover, he will portray bosses across professions, switching between a corporate executive, government babu and even a truck driver!

    Big Magic to launch fourth integrated show ‘Nautanki News’

    MUMBAI: After launching three integrated shows namely Fakebook with Kavita, Chutki Baja Ke and Lete Hai Khabar Khabro Ki, Big Magic and Big FM are all set to launch a new show from their bouquet of spoofy and comedic content titled Nautanki News. The show will air from 4 November on Wednesday – Thursday at 9:30 pm time slot.

     

    Coming on board as the host is theater actor Darshan Jariwala, who will don several hats on the show. Being played out in a fictitious news channel set-up, Jariwala will play the aggressive managing editor, and switch roles every now and then from being a news reader, to a live-reporter, to a chat show-host and even a newsroom editor.

     

    Through mock panel discussions, live reporting and chat shows, the show will hilariously throw light on how tactics such as yellow journalism, paid news, sensationalised coverage and more, are driving the agendas of TRP-hungry news channels today, thereby promising to be an out and out laughter riot for the viewers.
