    Big Magic’s Historical Comedy ‘Har Mushkil Ka Hal – Akbar Birbal’

    MUMBAI: A one of its kind historical comedy Har Mushkil ka Hal-Akbar Birbal is all set to hit the small screens. To be aired on Big Magic the show will be telecasted at 9:00 pm each weeknight. Popular Indian comedians like Kiku Sharda, Delnaz Irani, Vishal Kotial and Kishawar Merchant have been roped in to tickle the audience’s funny bone.

     

    The well known folklore characters, Akbar and Birbal have been extremely popular with the kids for their combined wit and wisdom. This appeal still has a strong presence and it is this presence which Big Magic plans to present in a fresh, never seen before avatar. Produced by Meenakshi Sagar, popular actor Kiku Sharda will be seen essaying the role of Emperor Akbar while Delnaz Irani will be playing his lady love and wife, Jodha. The role of Birbal will be played by Vishal Kotial, while Kishwar Merchant plays the role of a courtesan madly in love with Birbal. Their existing fan base and comic timing will serve both as a visual and comic treat, simultaneously.

    Big Magic gets Partha Dey to head non-fiction programming

    MUMBAI: Reliance Broadcast has made a new appointment to enhance its programming content on two of its channels- Big Magic and Big Magic Bihar & Jharkhand. Partha Dey will spearhead the national channel’s non-fiction programming content as the non-fiction head and also the entire programming portfolio for its regional channel as the creative and programming head.

     

    He will be involved in driving the regional channel’s performance by building on consumer insight for developing strong content.

     

    Dey will report to Reliance Broadcast TV business COO Lavneesh Gupta. Prior to this, he was heading the creatives and operation for the Mahuaa Network for six years including the planning, designing and launch of its three channels Pragya, Mahuaa and Mahuaa Bangla. He is a documentary filmmaker and has produced and directed documentaries, features and programming software for various agencies such as the Indian Air Force, ARC RAW and OHM-Holland and Doordarshan. 

     

    Commenting on his appointment, Gupta said “Partha’s vast experience and in-depth market understanding makes him an asset to the organisation. We are happy to have him on board and are confident of him leading Big Magic Bihar & Jharkhand through its next growth phase.”

    Big Magic bihar & jharkhand launches police files season 2

    MUMBAI: Encouraged by the grand success of season 1, BIG MAGIC Bihar and Jharkhand is all set to launch the second season of Police Files. Highlighting the various stories of crime, retaliation, presence of mind and bravery from the Hindi heartland, the show is hosted by Bhojpuri actor Vinay Anand. This new season hinges on the core principle ‘Surakshit Samaaj, Ek Abhiyaan’ that encourages people to be more socially responsible for those around them. The show launches on 3rd February, every Monday to Friday at 7.30pm and 10pm only on BIG MAGIC Bihar & Jharkhand!

    In its newest season, the show strives to evoke ‘Suraksha’ for everyone with the campaign ‘Surakshit Samaj Ek Abhiyaan’, and urges people to stand against crime and take preventive measures against them. Through the show, host Vinay Anand will narrate to viewers, various stories of impending crime, bravery and quick wittedness.     In a short span, Raavi has managed to receive not just positive feedback but a lot of adulation from the viewers across HSMs. This marathon will highlight Amrita’s (Raavi’s mother) journey as a mother who takes a dramatic life decision to disguise her girl child as a boy. While Raavi’s true identity is under wraps, it initiates an extremely interesting cat and mouse game cleverly handled by little Raavi who plays dual roles dexterously.

     

    Learning a few tricks from Raavi, Ghuggi will don four special avatars to present this marathon. Raavi will also be seen anchoring this marathon along with the comedian. On 27 October, get set for a laughter indulgence the channel is all geared up to showcase, The Nadaniyaan Laughaton,a special treat for fans of the popular situational comedy show – Nadaniyaan. It will be a 12-hour non-stop entertainment (8:00 am – 8:00 pm).

    Talking about the initiative, the channel’s business head Sunil Kumaran says, “Sundays are days when television viewers seek complete light family entertainment. To appeal the entire family, we conceptualised this special Sunday content.”

    Anchored by none other than popular actor-comedian Krushna Abhishek, this special marathon will air the best Nadaniyaan episodes. This is the first time I am doing something like this and it has been a wonderful experience. I am certain that this Sunday is going to be a fun-filled one.”

    Nadaniyaan… Teen Nadaano Ki Kahaniyaan is a dialogue-based situational comedy that revolves around the lives of the Verma family featuring Naman Verma aka Nandu, his wife Chandini and his brother Pushkar Verma aka Pappu. A self-proclaimed writer, a push-over wife and a clumsy younger brother; this nadaan family constantly lands each other in amusing situations with plenty of misunderstandings, crazy pranks and comic characters.

    Kumaran adds, “Nadaniyaan has the right mix of comedy and makes for perfect Sunday television entertainment. Krishna’s was a perfect fit for the show given his experience in the comedy genre. The programming has been designed to increase reach and sampling. Additionally, we will have Krishna’s fans who will further augment viewership.”

    In the past, many GECs have tried this stint but haven’t been able to click with the audience well.

    MUMBAI: Big Magic, the flagship GEC from Reliance Broadcast Network, which recently expanded its reach across Hindi speaking markets and announced a slew of new shows and now kicked off with a multi-media marketing campaign.

     

    The two-month comprehensive and integrated campaign sees a mix of traditional and non-traditional media across television, cinema screens, radio and digital. With a marketing mix that connects with consumers across touch points through the day, will be spread across external media platforms, while also optimising the company’s internal media muscle to ensure mileage. The campaign kick-started last week will run until the end of November.

    MUMBAI: Big Magic International, launched a year ago, will now beef up its content line up with two new fictional shows ‘Raavi’ and ‘Nadaniyaan’ along with films acquired from Viacom 18.

     

    With a content mix that ranges entertainment shows to daily business news from BloombergTV India, the international channel promises an inclusive and absolute package for its viewers. At start, the shows will be available on BIG MAGIC International – in the United States and Canada.

     

    Through exclusive partnerships, ‘Raavi’ and ‘Nadaniyaan’ will air on Big Magic International in the US with the largest DTH platform – Dish Network and in Canada with Ethnic Channels Group (EGCL).

     

    In the United States, Dish Network will ensure it reaches a sizeable and relevant audience of more than 14.3 million households.
