    Mumbai: Every individual, irrespective of gender, deserves effortless respect and support to lead a fulfilling life.     BIG FM concludes its campaign ‘Jal Andolan – Desh Ne Thaani Not to Waste Paani’

    Mumbai: In response to the escalating global water crisis, BIG FM, one of India’s leading radio networks, successfully concluded its purpose-led initiative ‘Jal Andolan – Desh Ne Thaani Not to Waste Paani’, aimed to raise awareness about responsible water usage. Responding to soaring temperatures aggravating water shortages across major Indian cities this summer, the campaign garnered significant support from celebrities, government authorities, activists, communities and NGOs.

    Through this campaign, BIG FM also rolled out the ‘Jal Daan’ initiative, encouraging individuals to curb their water usage. The collected water was then distributed across various locations in Delhi and NCR regions with the help of water tankers. In addition to on-air initiatives, the campaign featured on-ground activities such as cleaning nearby water bodies, conducting awareness programs at malls, holding discussions with experts in schools and colleges and organizing painting, slogan writing competitions across all BIG FM stations.

    The highly impactful campaign drew the attention of the Jal Shakti Department, with secretary Debashree Mukherjee IAS expressing her appreciation for the cause. Celebrities including Manoj Bajpayee, Divya Dutta, Raghuvir Yadav, Faisal Malik, Mini Mathur, Alka Yagnik and Anuradha Podwal supported the initiative by sharing how they are individually contributing to water conservation. Activists like Dr Rajendra Singh (The River Man of India), Sunanda Tai, Peepal Baba from the Give Me Trees Trust and Padma Shri Ganesh K. Mani showed their solidarity with the cause through audio and video messages. Additionally, listeners also shared their Jal Warrior stories on air by reaching out directly to BIG FM RJs or through their social media handles, detailing how they are saving water in their daily lives.

    BIG FM COO Sunil Kumaran shared his views on the campaign, stating, “The need for water is perpetual for all. As demand rises and the population grows, conserving not only water but all natural resources has become crucial. Through ‘Jal Andolan,’ we aimed to further emphasize the importance of mindful water consumption and thereby the needs for its conservation. I would like to extend my gratitude towards all the dignitaries who supported this initiative; their influence is vital in fostering a healthier environment for those without access to fresh water.”

    ‘Jal Andolan’ concluded in Delhi with ‘Jal Daan,’ encouraging people to save water by using a bucket instead of taking a shower, not washing their car and reusing RO wastewater for household chores. Approximately 50,000 litres of water was distributed to water-scarce areas in Delhi by BIG FM RJs – RJ Khurafati Nitin, RJ Akriti and RJ Yogi — with the support of Delhi Police, various listeners and communities.

    BIG FM launches Season 2 of ‘Sutta Chhod De Na Yaar’ on World No Tobacco Day

    Mumbai: In response to the rising stress and fast-paced lifestyle that has made smoking a common habit for many, BIG FM, one of India’s leading radio networks, brought back the second season of ‘Sutta Chhod De Na Yaar’ on World No Tobacco Day, 31 May. This initiative aimed to raise awareness about the risks and hazards of smoking and tobacco use. Over four weeks, the campaign featured a multifaceted approach encompassing radio broadcasts, celebrity endorsements, expert insights and digital engagement to effectively encourage positive behaviour change. It also featured the quirky reality show called ‘QUITSVILLA’, inspiring participants to quit smoking.

    Tobacco kills over 8 million people annually, with 7 million from direct use and 1.2 million from second-hand smoke. Building on last season’s success, BIG FM launched the second season of ‘Sutta Chhod De Na Yaar’ with new engaging elements. The activities kicked off with a strong drive across radio and digital platforms, effectively reaching a targeted audience and securing 11 committed participants. Led by Mumbai RJs- RJ Vrajesh, RJ Rani, RJ Abhilash and RJ Dilip, the campaign’s first week focused on awareness and registrations. The second week highlighted inspiring stories from listeners and celebrities like Yuvraj Singh, Vikrant Massey and Manoj Bajpayee, adding authenticity and motivation to the initiative. Health experts and quit-smoking specialists provided valuable insights during the third week.

    The last week of the campaign featured live updates from “QUITSVILLA,” a 48-hour immersive monitoring session at Della Resorts in Lonavala. Participants shared their stories while enjoying performances by rapper Akhil Dighe aka Hellac, comedians Vanshika and Jay Verma, yoga sessions by Shruti Kukreti, sound healing by Mariko, habit coaching by Ashdin Doctor, reverse singing by Madhu Lakhotia and Zumba dancing by Micky. Celebrities like Sanvikaa and Saad Bilgrami from Panchayat season 3 added excitement, making the campaign a supportive journey for those determined to quit smoking.

    Sharing his thoughts, BIG FM, COO Sunil Kumaran said, “Despite health hazards, smoking is prevalent amidst people due to cultural acceptance.     NCLT approves resolution plan of Sapphire Media Ltd for Big 92.7 FM

    Mumbai: The Mumbai bench of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) has approved the resolution plan of Sapphire Media Ltd for the iconic radio network Big 92.7 FM, owned by Reliance Broadcast Network Ltd.

    The NCLT Bench comprising technical member Madhu Sinha and judicial member Reeta Kohli approved the resolution plan submitted by Sapphire Media Ltd in its order dated 6 May.

    “The interlocutory application is allowed. The Resolution Plan submitted by Sapphire Media Ltd is hereby approved. It shall become effective from this date and shall form part of this order,” the bench said in its order.

    Big FM, owned by Reliance Broadcast Network Ltd, has been going through the insolvency process since Feb 2023. The Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (CIRP) was initiated under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code of 2016 and Rohit Mehra was appointed as the resolution professional.

    A committee of creditors of Big FM was also appointed, which approved Sapphire Media Limited’s resolution plan on November 11, 2023, with a voting share of 88.97% under the provisions of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code.

    The resolution professional subsequently filed an application with NCLT Mumbai seeking approval of Sapphire Media Limited’s resolution plan. As per the plan, Sapphire Media Ltd will pay Rs. 261 crores to secured and operational creditors as against the total claims of Rs. 947.5 crore.

    The NCLT order also directed the monitoring committee to supervise the implementation of the resolution plan and file the status of its implementation before it from time to time.

    The acquisition by Sapphire Media Ltd is expected to inject fresh energy into Big FM. As the country’s largest radio network with 58 stations and a reach of over 1,200 towns and 50,000 villages, the brand will reinforce Sapphire Media Limited’s pan-India presence.

    Mumbai: BIG FM successfully concludes the third season of ‘Main Bhi Finance Minister’, a campaign focused on inspiring women to be their own Finance Minister. Hosted by renowned RJ – RJ Rani, famous for her afternoon show ‘Aap Jaisi Rani’, the month-long program was sponsored by the leading stock market learning institute – Avadhut Sathe Trading Academy. The campaign served as a dynamic platform dedicated to bridging financial disparities and promoting gender equality. Adding an entertaining twist, BIG FM roped in the famous rapper AGSY for an enthralling anthem for this initiative.

    Throughout the campaign, a wide range of engaging activities and thought-provoking discussions took place, fostering a dynamic and interactive environment.
