    MUMBAI: The Advertising Club Bangalore hosted the grand finale of its flagship event, the Big Bang Awards 2024, at Sunburn Union, Koramangala, honoring the finest in creativity, media, and digital marketing. The winners of the awards were: 

    * Creative Digital Agency of the Year: Mindshare India
    * Design Agency of the Year: Freeflow Ideas
    * Healthcare Agency of the Year: Artiligence Pvt Ltd
    * Media Agency of the Year: Wavemaker India
    * Client of the Year: Mondelez India Pvt Ltd

    “Our digitally enabled judging process ensures complete transparency and allows us to invite experts nationwide to evaluate entries for innovation, creativity, and impact. We are deeply grateful to our exceptional jurors for their expertise and support, “said Big Bang Awards Committee chairperson Malavika R. Harita. 

    “This year, the Big Bang Awards attracted 600 entries from 58 agencies, representing 162 clients across 17 cities and seven states. The overwhelming response reflects the resilience, talent, and innovation of our dynamic industry. A heartfelt thanks to our partners and sponsors for making this event a grand success, ” The Advertising Club Bangalore President Laeeq Ali added.

    The Advertising Club Bangalore unveiled its new brand identity, embracing a bold direction for the future. Mirash Chandran, winner of the “LogoJam” challenge, was honored on stage with a cash prize of Rs 50,000.

    The evening kicked off with the inaugural Bang On Music Fest, where individuals and agencies showcased their creative talents through vibrant performances, adding an electrifying energy to the celebrations.

    Big Bang Awards 2021 set for offline event on 8 April

    Mumbai: After skipping the 2020 edition due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Ad Club Bangalore has announced that it will be holding the Big Bang Awards 2021 in an offline event on 8 April. The award ceremony will celebrate the Indian advertising and marketing fraternity and honor excellence in creative, media, digital and marketing.

    The Big Bang Awards are sponsored by Meta and supported by Manorama Max, Manorama News, The Hindu, and some other media houses. The event will take place at Hotel Ritz Carlton in Bangalore. 

    Ad Club Bangalore is a three-decade-old advertising club, known as one of the oldest ad clubs in the country. The ad club started the Big Bang Awards two decades ago. Every year it includes a jury from the advertising, media, and marketing industry. However, this year the entire judging process was online due to the pandemic restrictions.

    Sharing inside details, Ad Club Bangalore president Laeeq Ali told, “We received over 400 entries this year from agencies and clients across the country and decided to wait till April so we could kick-start our activities for the year with an offline event.”

    The awards have separate categories for consumer, B2B, media, entertainment and sports, brand and corporate communication and social causes. There is a separate category for healthcare and wellness covering Rx and OTC products.

    “I have been involved with the Big Bang Awards for the last 20 years,” said Big Bang Awards chairperson Malavika Harita. “This year, we saw a lot of emerging creative, media and digital agencies with innovative and exciting ideas. Adding a category for marketing excellence rounded off the entire gamut of marketing activities covered.”

    In order to pay homage to its late executive director Arvind Kumar, this year they have two special prizes for the best young media professional below 30 years and the best media team in his name. The MAA Group will be presenting the Ayaz Peerbhoy Award for the ‘Creative Agency of the Year’ as they do every year, said the statement.

    BENGALURU: The Advertising Club of Bangalore has decided to split its flagship event – The Big Bang Awards into two parts to ‘bring more focus and enable key takeaways for the fraternity at large’ according to a press release quoting Bangalore Ad Club President and co-founder & director of Origami Creative and Bloombox Brand Engineers Laeeq Ali.

    “This year we re-examined all the award categories to give the communication for specialised verticals like automotive, realty, consumer goods, social impact, their due. Digital communication is a part of every category. We have also rationalised the number of categories based on market trends. We have expert judges from all over the country and abroad and are very proud of the fact that for the last 7 years our entire process from entry submission to judging is online ensuring a fair, impartial process,” said Big Bang Awards committee chairperson and Saatchi & Saatchi Focus CEO Malavika Harita through the release.

    Part I or the Creative awards part will be held on 20 September 2019 while Part II or the Media and Wellness part will be held on 20 November 2019. Both the events will be held in Bangalore. Online acceptance of entries opened on 26 July and closes at Mid-night on 15 August 2019.

    Bangalore Ad Club receives 1,150 entries for Big Bang Awards

    BENGALURU: The Advertising Club, Bangalore (Bangalore Ad Club) said through a media release that it has received a record 1,150 entries for its annual Big Bang Awards to be held on 28 September 2018 in the Garden City. The Bangalore Ad Club says that this makes it the biggest awards in a 23-year history.

    “We are celebrating Big Bang this year with the theme of # For The Love Of Advertising.  We believe that the shine has gone out of traditional advertising and we want, in our small way, to try and bring it back, in spite of the sweeping changes wreaked by digital.  We are looking at a year-long campaign, starting with Big Bang,  to celebrate some of the iconic work in the past, award the best current work and discuss and debate the future of our beloved industry,” feels Big Bang Awards chairperson Malavika Harita. Harita is the current CEO of advertising and communications company Saatchi & Saatchi Focus.

    Bangalore Ad Club says that as the advertising industry continues to grow, a shift in the advertising spaces with new opportunities and newer challenges seems to be emerging. The Big Bang Awards this year has lined up exclusive interactions with ad and marketing ITCV Foods CEO Gurus Hemant Malik, Colors Viacom 18  CEO Raj Nayak, noted ad-man and film-maker R Balki, who is known for his movies Padman, Pa, Ki and Ka and many more. 

    The Advertising Club Bangalore in association with Ananda Vikatan Group, its multimedia partner for Big Bang Awards, in a public service initiative have introduced the ‘Issued in Public Interest’, a new category under which social messaging campaigns will be recognised by the jury. The Advertising Club received 53 creatives as entries for public service, all of which will be recognised. “When it comes to public interest, it’s a challenge to categorise which is better. While we will award one gold trophy to the winner based on the jury scores. We will feature all the entries on our website, as a goodwill gesture,” says Advertising Club Bangalore executive director Arvind Kumar.

    BENGALURU: The Advertising Club Bangalore, which has received a record number of 956 entries this year from Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Chennai, Kochi, Trivandrum, Ahmadabad and Pune, has announced this year’s edition of Big Bang Awards.

     

    Club Bangalore (The Ad Club) president Malavika Harita said, “We have received good number of entries almost across all categories. Digital advertising entries are on the rise, in keeping with the general trend in advertising”.

     

    The Ad Club executive director Arvind Kumar said, “A unique thing that is being added to the awards night this year, is a panel discussion on the topic ‘Online killed the offline star –true or false ‘.” The panelists expected to be on the panel include Colors CEO Raj Nayak, Google India’s Puneetha Armugam, among others.

     

    “Ad Club has roped in around 40 judges, who are judging the Big Bang entries this year, and each entry is being will be judged by a group of three judges, who are experts in their field of communication, to ensure there is fairness in the judging process” Arvind Kumar added.

     

    The awards event, presented by Bangalore Mirror of The Times of India group for the fifth year in a row, will be held on 19 September at The Ritz Carlton Hotel, Bangalore. The other partners of the event include Colors – Viacom 18 Group, Image Library, Radio City, Exchange4Media, Ritz Carlton and Jagdish Advertising. The event is conceptualised and managed by DNA Networks.

    BENGALURU: After its recent Smarties Agency of the year award, Maxus had an additional room to cheer as its team walked in slow motion to receive the media agency of the year at the Big Bang Awards 2013 organised by the Ad Club of Bangalore yesterday. 

    Stark Communication was named Creative Agency of the Year. Maxus was the biggest winner of the night bagging awards for Media, Mobile and Digital Agencies of the year.  Aakanksha Healthcare was Healthcare Agency of the Year and Aim High Consulting, PR Agency of the Year. A Special Judges Award was given to HP GBS Creative Services for their outstanding internal communication work.

    The awards received around 900 entries for the 2013 edition. The Ad Club Bangalore went fully online this year for the awards tying up with the US-based Global Best Awards for the same.

    Malavika Harita, President, The Ad Club Bangalore had said at that time: “It is commendable, because agencies welcomed the Awards going online and have supported the move wholeheartedly.”

    She had further stated that the Ad Club, Bangalore had roped in over 40 senior communications professionals from various cities to judge the entries and that in the future international jury members would also be invited.

    BENGALURU: The Bangalore ad club announced yesterday that its annual ‘Big Bang‘ awards would be held on 20 September this year at the Jayamahal Palace grounds in Bengaluru.

    “The Bangalore ad club has decided to make Big Bang more competitive. To this end, entries have been invited from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Srilanka. This is a small but significant step towards taking Big Bang Awards, International”, says The Bangalore ad club executive director Arvind Kumar.

    In keeping with the global trend, the Big Bang Awards are going fully online this year. The Bangalore ad club has tied-up with Global Best Awards, US to make the Big Bang Awards Online from this year. “As many ad agencies and creative hot shops across the country have expressed interest in taking part in the Big Bang Awards, going online would help in reaching out to them more effectively”, says Bangalore ad club president Malavika Harita.

    The Big Bang Awards were constituted over quarter of a century ago, bringing together agencies across the country to share their creative campaigns, while offering a platform to network with fellow creative minds in the industry. The last five years have seen the Big Bang Awards rise in popularity, with Bangalore growing to be the hub of advertising in South India.

  • Maxus walks away with agency of the year award, 40 metals at Big Bang Awards 2012

    BANGALORE: Maxus had a double whammy at the Advertising Club Bangalore‘s Big Bang Awards last weekend – it won the Media Agency of the year and the Media Campaign of the year.

    The agency in all bagged 40 metals, 13 each of Gold and Silver and 14 Bronze for work done for its clients, Vodafone, Perfetti van mille, Nokia India, Titan HTSE, Tanishq, etc., while DDB Mudra had a haul of 25 metals.

    Titan Industries was adjudged the Client of the Year, besides which it also won the Ayaz Peerbhoy memorial trophy for the Multi-Media campaign of the year for its Titan TS campaign.

    Stark Communications Trivandrum / Bangalore bagged the Agency of the year award for the second year in a row for its campaigns for Malayala Manorama, Kerala Tourism, Karnataka Tourism and other clients.

    Jasison Antony of Stark Communications, Trivandrum won the Art Director of the Year award while Shelton Pinheiro of Stark Communications won the Copy writer of the Year, to add to Stark‘s haul of metals

    DDB Mudra had a haul of 25 metals.
