    MUMBAI: The years’ most awaited television quiz show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ is here and this time the game show will commence in great style and grandeur in the city of Surat with mega star and phenomenal host, Mr. Amitabh Bachchan. The knowledge based show aimed at touching lives of millions across the country for the first time ever will be uniquely shot LIVE amidst citizens of Surat and telecast on Sony Entertainment Television.

     

    Like every year the launch of the KBC is one of the most celebrated events of the television industry and this year it is the fans of Surat who will not only get the opportunity to experience the show first hand but also participate in it LIVE. The event is scheduled for Saturday, 2nd August at Surat International Exhibition & Convention Centre, Althan-Sarsana Road, Surat.

     

    The registrations have commenced from July 22nd 2014.The selection of contestants to qualify will be done in two rounds and the  shortlisted participants  will get a chance to play the fastest finger round. The person who answers the question correct in the quickest time will get an opportunity to be on the much celebrated KBC hot seat and play with Mr. Bachchan.

    Big B sponsors coaching of women athletes for Commonwealth, World Championship and Asian Games

    NEW DELHI: Global cinema icon and champion of various social causes Amitabh Bachchan has decided to sponsor the training and coaching of two female sportspersons for the upcoming Commonwealth, World Championship and Asian Games in 2014.

     

    As UN ambassador of girl child, Bachchan has often taken initiatives towards the betterment of society such Polio Eradication and ridding the country of the malaise of discrimination against women.

     

    The megastar has sponsored women athletes Ayonika Paul and Pooja Ghatkar (both Rifle Shooting) as part of the Medals4India campaign initiated by the NGO Olympic Gold Quest. Olympic Gold Quest is a program of the Foundation of Sports And Games (founded in 2001) started by Indian sporting icons to identify and support Indian athletes with a proven track record and with a potential to win Olympic gold medals. 

     

    These athletes will be participating in the upcoming Commonwealth, World Championship, and Asian Games in 2014, the main goal being to help them win at the 2016 Rio Olympics. The funds will help with their training and equipment in preparation for their respective competitions.

    MUMBAI: She has wowed the audience back-to-back with her distinctive performances. Now, actor Richa Chadda has won another admirer in Amitabh Bachchan, who not only liked her performance in Goliyon in Rasleela Ram-Leela but also sent across a handwritten note congratulating her on her performance.

     

    Chadda, who portrayed the character of Raseela Bhabhi in the film has always been applauded by the industry for her work, so much so that she took away the Filmfare Award for Best Actor (Debut) for her performance in Gangs of Wasseypur.

     

    However, happy with the recent compliment from the shahensha Chadda said, “Amitabhji has met me earlier and has always been generous with praise and has told me he liked my works. For Ram-Leela, he sent me a note and a bouquet of flowers which is a huge deal for me since one can only dream about such a thing.”

    Good news for all Big B lovers. Amitabh Bachchan began the shoot for Bhoothnath Returns on 9 October, at Filmcity, Mumbai. Producer Bhushan Kumar is very excited with his very first association with Bachchan that he has showed his eagerness to work with Big B again. Even before starting Bhoothnath Returns shoot in full force, Bhushan Kumar announced his next project with Amitabh Bachchan.

     

    On the special occasion of Amitabh Bachchan’s birthday, Bhushan announced his new project with him. After listening the story, the shahensha of Bollywood has given a nod to star in T-Series’ next production being directed by Umesh Shukla.

    Titled 102 Not Out, the movie is about an old man who decides to break the world record of longevity. With Bachchan playing the lead role, the movie shows us how to live a life as opposed to merely existing. This Amitabh Bachchan starrer will also have Paresh Rawal is a pivotal role.

     

    102 Not Out will be directed by Umesh Shukla and will be his second movie under the T-Series exclusive five film deal. Big B was last seen in Prakash Jha’s Satyagraha.

    MUMBAI: Going strong against all odds, Sanjay Dutt Films continues to rope in Bollywood superstars for big production ventures. This time it‘s Amitabh Bachchan who is reported to have signed a film with the banner. After Dutt‘s conviction in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case for illegal possession of weapons, including an AK-56 rifle, the production company is now being looked after by Dutt‘s wife Maanyata.

    It is said that Big B has already shot his portions for the film two days ago at Film City and Juhu. Confirming the news, Big B posted on his blog, "The shooting for Sanjay Dutt Films, being produced by his wife Maanyata continues… a gesture towards Sanju is more important and so I work for it…"

    Sanjay Dutta Production that is known for producing some of the most successful movies in Bollywood, include Naam (1986), Khalnayak (1993), Vaastav (1999) and most recently the Munnabhai films – Munnabhai MBBS (2003) and Lage Raho Munnabhai (2006) to its credit, is all set to roll out some better and bigger movies in the future.

    Big B on Zee’s Titan Antakshri

    MUMBAI: The special episode of Titan Antakshri on Zee Television was made even more memorable for the visually impaired participants with the presence of Amitabh Bacchan. Big B regaled the audience with a rendition of Khalid Hashmi’s “Main Prakash Hoon, ajar amar andhakar ek nirav gunjan”. The poem specifically reflected the fact that blindness in not a drawback.

    Zee TV Titan Antakshari has devoted a six-part mini series looking at socially relevant issues like problems faced by the visually impaired, shelter for senior citizens and rehabilitation of street children. The series called Music for a Cause. The telecast of the mini series will start from 23 March at 8:30 pm. The show featuring Amitabh Bacchan will be aired on 31 March.

    The show will also feature two visually challenged girls who presented a letter to Bacchan wishing his mother Teji Bacchan a speedy recovery.

    Bacchan had himself played the role of a teacher training a visually impaired student to understand the world and stand on her own feet in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Black and was touched by the gesture.

    Zee Titan Antakshari was brought back on the channel this year after the original team led by Gajendra Singh moved to Star camp.
