HDFC Securities busts fraudsters with flair

MUMBAI: HDFC Securities has launched Kya Aap Taiyyar Ho?, a nationwide fraud awareness drive that brings Bollywood storytelling to the world of financial security. The campaign, part of the company’s Knowyourmoney initiative, uses humour, drama, and realism to show how easily scams can slip into everyday life, and how awareness can be the ultimate defence.

Directed by award-winning filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari of Dangal and Chhichhore fame, the campaign stars Manoj Pahwa, Bhuvan Arora, and Sapna Sand as part of a quirky ‘Fraudster Family’ that hilariously exposes modern investment scams. Through engaging short films, the series demystifies online trickery and emotional manipulation that have cost countless families their savings.

“When you see people lose their hard-earned money, you realise awareness isn’t optional, it’s essential,” said Tiwari. “This campaign empowers every investor to stay informed and protect what they’ve built.”

With a mission to make financial literacy entertaining and accessible, HDFC Securities has turned Knowyourmoney into one of India’s largest hybrid awareness programmes, reaching over 1.1 crore people weekly through videos, podcasts, community sessions, and gamified learning in 13 languages.

HDFC Securities EVP & CMO Puneeth Bekal noted, “Fraud has evolved in scale and sophistication, and the only sustainable defence is awareness. Kya Aap Taiyyar Ho? gives people the tools to make informed decisions and safeguard their money.”

The campaign’s creative offshoots, from a comic strip series called Bear and Bull to interactive games like Investment Heist and a forthcoming Fraudster’s Dossier, make money matters feel less intimidating and more engaging. It even celebrates citizens who have successfully spotted and stopped scams, proving that financial vigilance can be learned.

By combining cinema, community, and conversation, HDFC Securities isn’t just teaching people how to protect their money, it’s turning awareness into a movement. After all, when it comes to scams, prevention is the smartest investment of all.

Amazon MX Player releases the trailer for its upcoming series Fisaddi

Mumbai: Amazon MX Player is set to put sibling bonds to the test with its upcoming series Fisaddi as they released the trailer of the heartfelt drama. Delving into the intricate relationship between two brothers, the story will take audiences as they navigate the harsh realities of growing up. Set against the vibrant backdrop of college life in Allahabad, Fisaddi follows the journey of Goldie, a college legend with a larger-than-life persona, and his brother Vimal, who embodies everything Goldie wishes to be. Capturing the highs and lows of brotherhood, the series boasts a talented cast featuring Bhuvan Arora, Poojan Chabbra, Priyal Mahajan, Rajesh Jais, Gopal Datt, Shabnam Vadhera, Shailja Chaturvedi, and Mukund Pal in pivotal roles.

The trailer hints at the close bond between the brothers, while also revealing the silent tension that surfaces as their roles begin to shift. Goldie struggles to hold his position as the elder brother, fighting with the uncomfortable reality that Vimal excels where he’s fallen short. What happens when the once-admired elder brother, known for his wisdom and confidence, starts to feel like an outsider in his own story? The series takes an unflinching look at how brothers can be both rivals and protectors and how growing up sometimes means letting go of the image you’ve carefully crafted for yourself. As Vimal’s success mounts and Goldie’s grip on his own life begins to slip, their relationship reaches a boiling point, testing their bond in unexpected ways.

Amazon MX Player content head Amogh Dusad shared, “Fisaddi beautifully captures the essence of brotherhood in a way that is both relatable and entertaining. The series explores the nuances of rivalry, love, and personal growth, all while capturing the spirit of youth. The story focusses on brotherhood, which is a largely untapped emotion and we’re certain audiences will relate to it.”

Bhuvan Arora, who essays the role of Goldie in the series, expressed, Portraying Goldie has been an incredible journey for me as an actor. The character’s flaws and insecurities make him deeply relatable, and I believe viewers will find pieces of themselves in both Goldie and Vimal. Their relationship captures the essence of sibling love, rivalry, the pressure they face, and the pressure to maintain individuality. The bromance highlighted in the story is a key element and it is a largely untapped emotion. I hope audiences find their journey inspiring and realize that, in the end, it’s the bond we share that defines who we are.”

  • Arré premieres ‘The Adventures Of Abbaas Mastan’ on Facebook

MUMBAI: Arre is all set to take the viewers to the wildly fictionalised world of two film students on one global mission – to make the world’s most viral video. The Adventures Of Abbaas Mastan is a first-of-its-kind format, presented in the new universal language of gibberish where the entire cast of characters speak absolute nonsense while still making perfect sense.

Led entirely by subtitles, the series is a unique, language-agnostic show that can adapt itself to any expression without getting lost in translation. Currently featuring English subtitles, the show will soon be available in Hindi and other languages.

Arré founder B. Saikumar said, “The original idea behind the show was to do a humourous takedown of two of the world’s most pressing issues – terrorism and obsession with internet fame. With ‘The Adventures of Abbaas Mastan’, we’ve tried a whole new format based on gibberish-speak. The series captures the attempt of these blundering, well-meaning film buffs, who attempt to make a viral video in captivity.”

Abbaas and Mastan, fresh out of film school and die-hard fans of Karan Johar and Quentin Tarantino, are being held by a terrorist organisation to deliver 3 million views on a video. They try to channel the art of their masters as they plan the world’s most viral video… the beheading of a gora kaafir.

The show is a comedy of errors with two peaceable and lovable idiots at the centre, who are trying to find their way to Internet fame and remain true to their filmmaking idols in Hollywood and Bollywood… all the while desperately trying to avoid the actual beheading. Bhuvan Arora and Vyom Sharma win hearts with their portrayals of the peace-loving Abbaas and Mastan who are familiar with only one kind of shooting – the type that happens with a camera.

“When people come across posts and videos on Facebook that strongly resonate with them, they further share it with their friends. Good topical humour definitely strikes a chord with most and is a great conversation starter. We are excited to see how the Arré community on Facebook has built itself so strongly as a premium content destination with refreshing humorous content of a social nature. We wish them the very best for this series!” added FB India strategic partnership development -entertainment Biswamitra.

Season one of The Adventures Of Abbaas Mastan consists of four chapters and two episodes are live now.
