    ALTBalaji onboards Snehil Dixit Mehra as head of content & digital media

    Mumbai: A wholly-owned subsidiary of Balaji Telefilms ALT Digital Media Entertainment appointed Snehil Dixit Mehra as the head of content & digital media. Earlier, Mehra worked with filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali as associate director.

    Mehra has a vivid professional portfolio and worked as a writer, director and digital influencer. He recently forayed into acting with her stellar performance in Jio Studios’ Apharan Season 2.

    Mehra brings with her an enviable experience in the media and entertainment space and over 16 years of experience in the broadcast industry. She has held various leadership positions at Bhansali Productions, Star India, Sony Entertainment Television & Endemol India. Ektaa R Kapoor is keen on expanding her digital footprint with producing more originals and after the immense success of her digital reality show Lock Upp she aspires to create more original formats for the non-fiction audiences. Thus, a high-profile acquisition was expected, given the content powerhouse wanted the leadership to work in close association with content creators and producers.

    In her new role, Snehil will be leading the content and programming division for ALTBalaji and will be responsible for managing the upcoming original content line-up and the platform’s creative strategy.

    Talking about joining the team, Snehil said, “This is my second innings at ALTBalaji, a homecoming for me, however with a larger mandate now. I am looking forward to planning a roadmap for further accelerated growth of ALTBalaji as a leading digital content hub.”

    Eros International and Bhansali Productions’ Bajirao Mastani to release in Tamil & Telugu

    MUMBAI: Eros International and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s forthcoming magnum opus Bajirao Mastani, slated to release on December 18worldwide, will also release in Tamil and Telugu languages. The period drama will be dubbed in these languages to reach out to a wider audience base in the south markets. 

     

    Well-known lyricist Madhan Karky who has penned songs and dialogues for Tamil hits like Baahubali and Enthiran and popular Telugu lyricist Ramajogayya Sastry known for working on latest hits Srimanthudu and Baahubali will be working on the Tamil and Telugu dubs respectively.  

     

    Talking about the film’s language versions, director Sanjay Leela Bhansali said, “Bajirao Mastani has been a story I have been yearning to tell and I am glad that cine goers in the south regions will get to watch the film in their own language. This is a dream I have lived with for several years and I’m looking forward to audiences across markets living my dream with me”. 

     

    Commenting on this development, Nandu Ahuja, Senior Vice President, India Theatrical, Eros International Media Ltd.said, “Following the success of films in this genre in the south markets, we felt encouraged to dub Bajirao Mastani in Tamil and Telugu. A film of this epic scale and exceptional story telling demanded that we penetrate as wide as possible”. 

     

    As the trailer of the magnum opus recently created a splash on the social media front, the creative maverick reiterates yet again why Bajirao Mastani is India’s first truly global film.  

     

    Known to create nothing short of masterpieces, Sanjay Leela Bhansali who is also the recipient of a Padma Shri award ,has never failed to deliver films rich in content and high on entertainment, a visual spectacle captured on celluloid.

     

    Starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra among others, Bajirao Mastani has been a longstanding dream of the filmmaker which is finally being realized, transporting audiences to a land of love, war and signature opulence. 

    Eros International & Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani is scheduled to release 18th December, 2015 worldwide.

    The industry is buzzing with excitement about the two new posters that released recently and the launch of this new motion poster has added to the eagerness of the fans for the film. The actress has been receiving praises for her role from fans, fellow actors, directors and critics alike.

     

    The motion poster depicts the brawny actress in a fierce boxing pose ready to strike. It highlights her body muscles that are a result of her dedication and disciplined lifestyle. She has undergone intense training and exercise for months to fit the bill of a champion boxer learning the techniques from scratch. The actress, known for her out of the box choice in films, considers Mary Kom to be her toughest role so far.  Chopra has successfully awed the audience and they are now definitely looking forward to watch their favourite actress on the silver screen.

     

    Mary Kom is about MC Mary Kom’s life, struggles, family and her perseverance to be the best. It is directed by Omung Kumar, and produced is by Viacom18 Motion Pictures and Bhansali Productions. The film is scheduled to release on 5 September 2014.
