    Beyonce‘s ‘Crazy In Love’ scorches up ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’

    MUMBAI: Soon to be released film, Fifty Shades of Grey, has charts souring with Beyonce‘s “Crazy In Love” song.

    The solo debut of the pop singer, more than a decade later, has been chopped up for a haunting remix for the film’s soundtrack.

    In the film which tells the story of obsessive romance, the song starts off with just a piano before Beyoncé enters with her sultry vocals.

    The soundtrack also features Michael Diamond’s remix of Beyoncé’s “Haunted” and Ellie Goulding’s Max Martin-produced power ballad “Love Me Like You Do.” It also includes music from Skylar Grey, Sia, the Weeknd, Jessie Ware and many more.

    Dentsu wins at DMA Asia awards, Snapdeal appoints Amitava Ghosh, Askme launches TVC, SonySinger and actor Beyonce has been criticised for using an audio clip related to the space shuttle Challenger disaster in the love song “XO” from her fifth studio album “Beyonce,” which released earlier this month.

     

    The song “XO,” which was written and produced by Ryan Tedder and Terius Nash, also known as “The Dream”, includes an audio segment involving NASA’s then public affairs officer Steve Nesbitt on Jan 28, 1986.

     

    “Flight controllers here are looking very carefully at the situation. Obviously a major malfunction,” Nesbitt said at the time, when the Challenger shuttle exploded 73 seconds into its flight, over the Atlantic Ocean, off the coast of central Florida, leading to the deaths of its seven crew members.

     

    Former NASA employees and NASA families have slammed Beyonce for sampling audio from the space shuttle Challenger explosion on her new song “XO”.

     

    Beyonce responded in a statement to ABC:

     

    My heart goes out to the families of those lost in the Challenger disaster. The song ‘XO’ was recorded with the sincerest intention to help heal those who have lost loved ones and to remind us that unexpected things happen, so love and appreciate every minute that you have with those who mean the most to you.     Pop star Beyonce looks to be rising on the chartbusters list. Her self-titled album, Beyonce has become the fastest selling album ever on the iTunes Store.

     

    With an unprecedented 828,773 albums sold in just its first three days, the album has broke the US first week album sales record with 617,213 sold and proved to be a global success going to number one in 104 countries, announced Apple.

     

    Beyonce is the fifth solo studio album from Beyonce, which was made available exclusively worldwide on the iTunes Store on 13 December by Parkwood Entertainment/Columbia Records. The self-titled set is the artist’s first visual album.

    The album has 14 new songs and 17 visually stunning, provocative videos shot around the world from Houston to New York City to Paris, and cto Rio de Janeiro, all before the album’s release. The album represents Beyonce’s biggest sales week ever.

    MUMBAI: To coincide with the Midem music trade show, mobile firm Orange is bringing out a new unlimited subscription plan for video-on-demand, available on Orange TV in France.

    A catalogue of music programmes will be on offer for 4.99 euros a month with more than 300 long clips like concerts, documentaries, TV programmes, etc and 2,000 video clips.

    The new offer is the latest addition to the extensive Orange music portfolio which covers nine countries and allows customers to access an international catalogue of 1 million titles following agreements with both major international and independent record labels.

    The new offer gives Orange TV subscribers in France unlimited use of a wide choice of music content. They can enjoy on-demand access to the entire catalogue of music programmes with leading artists including Robbie Williams, Kylie Minogue, Michael Jackson, Beyonce and Shakira.

    Subscribers can select a title from more than 300 longer clips (concerts, documentaries, TV programmes, etc.) and 2,000 video clips from any musical genre. These titles are made available through partnerships with:

    * Sony BMG

    * EMI Music

    * I-Concerts

    * Eagle Rock

    The forthcoming arrival of two new partners, Warner Music and Universal Music, will further enhance the offering.

    * Orange Music Store: gives access to an international catalogue of 1million titles,

    * Orange Music Cast: personalised mobile and internet radio. Launched in May 2006, Orange Music Cast is a mobile application that gives customers (with a compatible phone), access to a package of theme-based radio stations, which users can adapt to their own musical tastes (Urban, Pop/Rock, Latin, Jazz,…) as well as access their own favourite radio stations.     * Live Radio: This the firm says is the first independent wifi radio, lets users listen to thousands of radio stations from around the world and on the web, as well as podcasts and audio books, even without turning on your computer;

    * SMS Jukebox, a new service which is being premiered at the Wifi Café Orange during Midem 2007. A playlist of songs is presented in a menu with a code for each one. All customers have to do is select a song and send the corresponding code by SMS. They then receive a message specifying the waiting time before the song is played… in the restaurant or cafe. Orange is looking to reinvent the jukebox, with a new mobile dimension.

    MUMBAI: Nominations for the 49th Grammy Awards have been declared and Mary J. Blige has continued her winning streak, having garnered eight Grammy nominations.

    Musician duo from India Aashish Khan and Zakir Hussain have been nominated for the ilk of Best Traditional World Music for their album, Golden strings of the Sarode.

    Keeping it nip and tuck Red Hot Chili Peppers tracks closely while securing six nominations followed by James Blunt, the Dixie Chicks, John Mayer, Danger Mouse, Prince, Rick Rubin, William and John Williams each earning five nods and Beyonce, Bryan-Michael Cox, Gnarls Barkley, Israel Houghton, T.I, and Justin Timberlake with four each.

    The 49th Annual Grammy Awards will take place in Los Angeles at the Staples Center on Sunday 11 February 2007 and will be hosted by Stephen Colbert and broadcast nationwide on CBS at 8 pm ET.
