The theme is a place of infinite possibilities, a place that resonates with the beat of Supersonic- #BeThereBeFree. The seventh edition of Budweiser Presents Vh1 Supersonic is all set to ramp-up your senses with ultimate musical experience from 7th – 9th February at Mahalakshmi Lawns, Pune.

    Living up to its legacy of being India’s largest multi-genre festival this edition also brings the prefect blend of Indian and International artists. Taking the festival to its crescendo will be the all-time favourite – American DJ and musician Illenium, rock band Chon, Indian rapper Divine and world’s biggest techno brand Awakenings! While 2017 Electronic Music Awards winner Illenium promises a hot-rodding ride with his perfect mixture of beats and captivating sets; Chon, Divine and Awakenings will get the crowd grooving to their mind-blowing blockbusters. The music fiesta will witness 60+ artists line-up which will let the crowd indulge in the spirit of multi-genre music across 4 stages – EDM, Live, Techno and Reggae with an exhilarating 10000 Lions sound system.

Supersonic is known for leaving its attendees in an awe with its matchless wholesome experiences, year-on-year the organizers have successfully led attendees hold on to the ticking clock to appease their want of more.     Supari Studios conceptualises Vh1 Supersonic’s campaign – #BeThereBeFree

    MUMBAI: Leading up to the Vh1 Supersonic music festival, digital content studio, Supari Studios conceptualised and produced a film that draws attention to the sense of belonging that music gives us. The film uses a spoken word piece, complemented by interesting match-cuts and catchy music, to weave together a narrative targeting the festival’s tagline and collective ethos- ‘Be There Be Free’.

    When did you first discover music? Was it in a quiet corner of your room, when you just got acquainted with the internet? Or was it in an old record shop down the street, a few blocks from home? Or perhaps on a sunny afternoon after school, when you and your friends shut yourselves from the world to write down new song lyrics and string together some tunes? Over the years, music brought us together and made us feel like we were all a part of something bigger, across ages and spaces, irrespective of who we were and what life threw our way.

    Through the course of the film, we see a variety of different individuals in their own unique settings- all of whom can truly be themselves in a place that celebrates their uniqueness: the Vh1 Supersonic Music Festival.

    Nisha Vasudevan, Director of the film said, “When the brief first came to us, the idea was to highlight VH1 Supersonic’s inclusive ethos and employ a visual language that would make it stand out from other festival properties in that space. We approached this piece with a heartfelt, poetry-based script that was meant to evoke nostalgia and take us back to a time when the internet first opened the world of music up to today's millennial. It was during those moments that we began to identify with specific subcultures, and those are the influences that make us the people we are proud to be today – and we wanted to specifically strike this chord. Visually, we decided to use match-cuts and action-cuts to move the narrative forward from person to person. The idea was to showcase a wide range of personalities while also alluding to commonalities between them all.”

    Manoti Jain, Executive Producer, Supari Studios said, “When Vh1 approached us to create a film promoting their Supersonic Music Festival, we tried to put together a narrative that encapsulated the festival’s vibe and inclusive spirit, while also bringing back memories that people associate with music. The team went down a slightly different route from the usual festival videos, conceptualising a spoken word piece that was both nostalgic, as well as hard-hitting, with the aim to immerse viewers into a time and space that they could truly resonate with. We brainstormed on visuals that best represented our encounters with music, as well as on showcasing a diverse set of people, to make the film as reflective of reality as possible. Rather than using actors to play different parts in the film, we also chose to work with real people who were characteristic of each scene, so that we could best represent their stories.”

    Calling all music lovers to Pune, Vh1 Supersonic powered by Budweiser is all set to transform into a multi-genre international destination from 9th – 11th February. Every year, the festival just keeps getting bigger and better. In this edition, as the youth capital of India turns into the nation’s ‘music and party capital’ there is something for everyone in the fifth edition of Vh1 Supersonic!

    Here’s all the excitement this edition of Vh1 Supersonic promises to offer from rock and indie music to future bass and driving techno and a heady mix of artists in the Super Line-Up. The artist lineup for this year comprises over 70 artists with multiple headlining acts. Starting with the American Rock Legend –  Incubus, one of the most popular Rock bands and coming to India or the first time, Brandon Boyd from Incubus will be joining none other than the legendary Dancehall Rapper Sean Paul as he sets the stage on fire. The bass-heavy electronic dance music producer Marshmello along with some the most popular musicians such as Major Lazer, Alt-J, Dillon Francis, Ookay, Joseph Capriati and many more.

    Commenting on what’s in store for Vh1 Supersonic 2018, Integrated Network Solution & Consumer Products, Business Head, Saugato Bhowmik said, “We wanted to celebrate our fifth Anniversary edition of Vh1 Supersonic with our fans.     The 2018 edition of the festival will not only see some of the biggest names from the world of dance music but will have five stages including the techno ensemble The Awakenings. The hottest addition is the new Live Stage which will feature rock music legends.

    As the festival goers enjoy the epic artist line-up across three days, the festival will surprise them with numerous experiences to enjoy along with the music. From the delicious food market – #SuperGrub to a shopper’s paradise – #SuperFlea to world class art at #Art@Supersonic to release the inner kid in you at Action Central. Unwind at the beautiful beer garden or the De-stress Tent or just chill out and enjoy the Happy hours as Vh1 Supersonic is where the party never stops!

    Vh1 Supersonic is open to all and special arrangements are made for the specially-abled in association with Enable Travel, from volunteers to elevated platforms and ramps. To show that we support WomenPower, the festival has women only bars equipped with an essentials booth and a women safety squad watching over the festival grounds. Because we care for the environment, we trade trash for goodies!
