Belarus girl wins Zee Music item bomb title

MUMBAI: Zee Music’s search for an `item bomb’ is finally over. Tatsiana – a trained ballet & classical dancer from Belarus – got the better of the other 13 contestants to clinch the item bomb title; while Columbian national Lyris bagged the first runner up title and Aneesha from Delhi, claimed the second runner up position.

Tatsiana will be paired opposite Sanjay Dutt for an item song in the movie Musafir. Produced by White Feather Films, the November release Musafir features Sanjay Dutt, Anil Kapoor and Sameera Reddy in the title roles. According to Zee Telefilms director special projects, Yogesh Radhakrishnan, the first and second runners up will be doing a T – Series music video.

The star-studded jury line-up gave a pleasant surprise as the generation next got due representation in Abhishek Bachchan, Vivek Oberoi and Zayed Khan to decide the ‘bomb’. The actors along with choreographer Saroj Khan gave the final verdict.

Zee Music had conducted auditions in Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore, and Dubai and London. From each city eight girls were shorlisted, who further competed amongst themselves in the city finals in Mumbai. 14 girls made it to the grand finale in Mumbai.

Speaking on the occasion, Zee Music business head Bharat Ranga said, “In our endeavour to provide a tailor-made platform for all the aspiring girls, Zee Music, along with White Feather Films, had created Musafir Item Bomb. The response that we have received from across India as well as Dubai and London was overwhelming with this hunt throwing up some remarkably talented girls.”

Two foreign girls winning the first two titles might explain why Bollywood has developed a liking for foreign girls when it comes to item numbers. Samantha Fox, Yana Gupta, Jelena Jakovljevic and now Tatsiana…the trend may continue.
