    MUMBAI: According to week 20 of BARC India, 6 Mega Cities : NCCS AB : 4+ Individuals rating, Zee café climbed back to its top position. AXN dropped a place in the English entertainment space. Star Movies returned to top spot, pushing Movies Now to second spot. Discovery continued to top the infotainment genre.

    English Entertainment

    Zee Café climbed up and replaced AXN on first position, with a rise in rating to 247 Impressions (000s). AXN followed on second spot with 223 Impressions (000s). Star world with 183 Impressions (000s) grabbed third position. Comedy Central with 167 Impressions (000s) and Colors Infinity SD with 135 Impressions (000s) took fourth and fifth positions respectively.

    English Movies

    Star Movies repossessed its top position replacing Movies Now with 2684 Impressions (000s). Movies now dropped a rank to second spot scoring 2593 Impressions (000s). Sony Pix secured third spot with 1663 Impressions (000s). Zee Studio grabbed fourth position with 1415 Impressions (000s) and HBO got fourth spot with 1126 Impressions (000s).

    Infotainment

    Discovery continued to rule infotainment genre with 4881 Impressions (000s). History TV18 followed on second position with 3899 Impressions (000s). National Geographic Channel with 3305 Impressions (000s) and Animal Planet with 3298 Impressions (000s) grabbed third and fourth position respectively. Nat Geo Wild was on the last spot with 2005 Impressions (000s).

    MUMBAI: According to Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India data, week 20 saw News Live 24×7 toppling Rang in the Assamese genre while Star Jalsha, Big Magic Ganga, Colors Kannada, Asianet, Sarthak TV, Zee Marathi, Sun TV, Zee Telugu, Colors Gujarati sustained  dominance in their respective spaces.

    Assamese GECs

    News Live 24×7 took the number one position with 17295 Impressions (‘000s) followed by Rang in the second place with 11557 Impressions (‘000s).  Pratidin Time with 9517 Impressions (‘000s) and DY 365 with 9391 Impressions (‘000s) held the third and fourth places respectively. Prag News was fifth in line with 6912 Impressions (‘000s).

    Bangla GECs

    Star Jalsha stood at the number one position with 183623 Impressions (‘000s) followed by Zee Bangla in the second place with 128836 Impressions (‘000s). Jalsha Movies with 51863 Impressions (‘000s) and ABP Ananda with 50688 Impressions (‘000s) held on to the third and fourth places respectively. Aakaash Aath grabbed the fifth position with 32727 Impressions (‘000s).

    Bhojpuri GECs

    Big Magic Ganga took the first position with 22950 Impressions (‘000s) followed by Bhojpuri Cinema with 9145 Impressions (‘000s) in the second place. Dabangg grabbed the third spot with 6706 Impressions (‘000s) while Dangal TV bagged the fourth place with 4674 Impressions (‘000s). ETV Bihar Jharkhand took the fifth spot with 2051 Impressions (‘000s).

    Kannada GECs

    Colors Kanada took the first spot with 225583 Impressions (‘000s). Zee Kannada was in the second spot with 190600 Impressions (‘000s). Udaya Movies claimed the third spot with 164294 Impressions (‘000s). Suvarna stood at fourth place with 140283 Impressions  (‘000s) while Udaya TV grabbed the  fifth position with 135644 (‘000s).

    Malayalam GECs

    Asianet held the top slot with 253446 Impressions (‘000s) followed by Mazhavil Manorama with 108554 Impressions (‘000s) in the second place. Flowers TV maintained its place at number three with 65847 Impressions (‘000s).  Surya TV with 59524 (‘000s) stood at number four and Asianet News with 56732 (‘000s) was at number five.

    Oriya GECs

    Sarthak TV took the first position with 77249 Impressions (‘000s) followed by Tarang TV with 54446 Impressions(‘000s).  Colors Oriya took the third berth with 14741Impressions (‘000s) whereas Odisha TV grabbed the fourth position with 14233 Impressions (‘000s) followed by Alankar with 8181Impressions (‘000s) in fifth place.

    Marathi GECs

    Zee Marathi maintained its pole position with 128817 Impressions (‘000s) followed by Colors Marathi with 96591 Impressions (‘000s). Zee Talkies bagged the third position with 50639 Impressions (‘000s) followed by Maiboli in the fourth spot with 40849 (000s). 9X Jhakaas stood in the fifth position with 36042 (000s).

    Tamil GECs

    Sun TV remained the undisputed leader in the Tamil space with 888302 Impressions (‘000s). KTV was at number two with 275660 Impressions (‘000s), whereas Star Vijay held the third spot with 167929 Impressions (‘000s). Zee Tamil took the fourth place with 104383 Impressions (‘000s), while Polimer stood at number five with 79393Impressions (‘000s).

    Telugu GECs

    Zee Telugu lead the genre with 418203 Impressions (‘000s) followed by ETV Telugu with 375976 Impressions (‘000s). Maa TV took the  third spot with 368090 Impressions (‘000s), whereas Gemini TV stood at the fourth position with 328225 Impressions (‘000s). Gemini Movies with 172197 Impressions (‘000s) grabbed the fifth position.

    Gujarati GECs

    Colors Gujarati dominated the space with 8283 Impressions (000’s) followed by TV 9 Gujarati with 5992 Impressions (000’s).  ETV News Gujarati grabbed the third spot with 2058 Impressions (000’s). DD Girnar with 1775 Impressions (000’s) and Sandesh News with 1461 Impressions (000’s) bagged the fourth and fifth spot respectively.

    MUMBAI: Week 20 of Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) All India data has been seeing the pendulum shift back and forth as the IPL season 9 backed Sony Max was again relegated to second spot by Sun TV and by a substantial margin at that. Star Utsav moved up to seventh from the tenth position in week 19, while Zee Telugu, the only other regional channel among the top 10, returned to tenth place from the previous week’s ninth slot. The list covers the top 10 channels across all genres.

    Returning to the top slot once again, Sun TV reported 950618 Impression (000s) in week 20 as compared to 944626 Impression (000s) in week 19. Sony Max lost ratings with a score of 881515 Impression (000s) from 944851 Impression (000s) in week 19 to fall back to second place.

    In the ding dong battle between third and fourth spots, Star Plus once again climbed to number three in week 20 with 702036 Impression (000s) as compared to 664177 Impressions (000s) in week 19. Colors was fourth with 668837 Impressions (000s) as compared to 703707 Impression (000s) in week 19

    Zee TV retained fifth space in week 20 with lower ratings of 627367 Impressions (000s) as compared to 639647 Impressions (000s) in the previous week. Sony Pal remained at number six with 497247 Impressions (000s) as compared to 503774 Impressions (000s) to the previous weeks ratings

    Star Utsav moved up to seventh place while pushing down Zee Anmol in week 20, with 461430 Impressions (000’s) as compared to 453454 Impressions (000’s) in week 19

    Life OK also retained eighth spot with 456716 Impressions (000s) as compared to the previous week’s 471354 Impressions (000s).

    Zee Anmol moved down two places to ninth place in week 20 with 451646 Impressions (000s) as compared to 500101 Impressions (000s) in week 19.

    The only other regional channel in the list of top ten channels across genres, Zee Telugu, returned back to tenth spot in week 20 with 432613 Impressions (000s) as compared to 46866 Impressions (000s) in week 19.

    MUMBAI: Channels run on their popularity and reach more than anything else, and BARC is the ladder to measure that. Week 19 of BARC rating has yet again delivered a game-changing data break-up by dividing ratings into rural and urban categories. 

    In week 19, Broadcasters’ free to air channel (FTA) have madetheir its presence in top five channels across Rural Hindi speaking market (HSM) where Zee Networks’ FTA Zee Anmol topped the chart. 

    Rural HSM Data 

    Zee Anmol garnered the first position with 397738 Impressions (000’s) followed by Sony Pictures Network’s free to air channel Sony Pal with 386861 Impressions (000’s) and Star India’s FTA channel Star Utsav with 355620 Impressions (000’s) stood at number three. 

    Zee Networks’ Hindi GEC channel Zee TV bagged the fourth spot with 283082 Impressions (000’s) while another FTA Rishtey grabbed fifth spot with 282625 Impressions (000’s). 

    Colors stood at sixth spot with 233354 Impressions (000’s) followed by Star Plus at number seven with 202257 Impressions (000’s) and Life OK at number eight with 170238 Impressions (000’s). 

    In rural data, Big Magic stood at number nine with 139427 Impressions (000’s) and Sab TV with 109515 Impressions (000’s) grabbed tenth spot. 

    Urban HSM data 

    On the other hand, in Urban HSM, Colors lead the Hindi general entertainment channel (GECs) with 431346 Impressions (000’s) followed by Star Plus with 413580 (000’s) on second slot and Zee TV with 311583 Impressions (000’s) at third place.

    Life OK, Sab TV and Sony Entertainment Channel bagged fourth, fifth and sixth position with 287442 Impressions (000’s), 241700 Impressions (000’s) and 207012 Impressions (000’s) respectively. 

    On the other hand, &TV made its entry in top ten channels across Urban HSM with 119686 Impressions (000’s) at number seven while Sony’s free to air channel Sony Pal grabbed eighth spot with 115399 (000’s) and Zee Anmol at ninth with 101704 Impressions (000’s). 

    Star Utsav  stood at number ten with 95186 Impressions (000’s)

    On the other hand, in Urban HSM, Colors lead the Hindi general entertainment channel (GECs) with 431346 Impressions (000’s) followed by Star Plus with 413580 (000’s) on second slot and Zee TV with 311583 Impressions (000’s) at third place.

    Life OK, Sab TV and Sony Entertainment Channel bagged fourth, fifth and sixth position with 287442 Impressions (000’s), 241700 Impressions (000’s) and 207012 Impressions (000’s) respectively.

    MUMBAI: The race of being a number one channel in Hindi general entertainment channels keep continues and week 18 witnessed Colors replacing Star Plus to be the leader in the space in the HSM market. On the other hand Sony’s The Kapil Sharma Show exited the top five programmes list while Colors’ Naagin continued to dominate the segment. 

    Colors  garnered the leadership position  in the HSM market with 656335 Impressions (000’s) and pushed down Star Plus to second slot with 646994 Impressions (000’s).

    Zee TV regained its third position with 598251 Impressions (000’s) followed by free to air channels Sony Pal on fourth and Zee Anmol on fifth spot with 533928 Impressions and 506203 Impressions respectively. 

    Star Utsav bagged sixth slot with 464727 Impressions (000’s) followed by Life OK which stood on seventh with 458127 Impressions (000’s). Rishtey bagged the eighth spot with 378935 Impressions (000’s). 

    Sab TV and Sony Entertainment Television, both witnessed a fall  in ratings this week. Sab TV was at the ninth  with 345464 Impressions (000’s) against  359899 Impressions (000s) in week 17 whereas Sony TV stood at tenth with 297283 Impressions (000’s) against  347921 Impressions (000s).

    In the top five programmes of Hindi GEC, Colors Naagin continued  to dominate the genre with 17650 Impressions (000’s) while Zee TV’s prime time show Kumkum Bhagya bagged the second slot with 12954 Impressions (000’s) followed by Star Plus’ prime time show Yeh Hai Mohabbatein and Saath Nibhaana Saathiya at third and fourth slot with 10612 Impressions (000’s) and 10257 Impressions (000’s) respectively. Zee Anmol’s Jodha Akbar grabbed the fifth slot with 9101 Impressions (000’s).

    MUMBAI: AXN and Movies Now continue to dominate the English entertainment and English movies space respectively.  In the infotianment genre, Discovery manintained its leadership, according to week 18 of BARC India rating, 6 Mega Cities : NCCS AB : 4+ Individuals.

    English Entertainment genre witnessed a mixed bag of ratings in this week and saw a rise in its overall rating with AXN leading. The English movies space was topped by Star movies and Infotainment continued with Discovery as number one.

    English Entertainment

    AXN stood at number one position with a decline  in its rating from 343 Impressions (000s) in week 17 to 221 Impressions (000s) this week. Comedy Central moved up the row and bagged the second berth with 217 Impressions (000s) followed by Zee Cafe with 211 Impressions (000s).  

    Colors Infinity SD with 121 Impressions (000s) and Star World with 82 Impressions (000s) took the fourth and the fifth position respectively.

    English Movies

    Movies Now toppled Star Movies with 3157 Impressions (000s). Star Movies took the second position with 2915 Impressions (000s) followed by Sony Pix with 1782 Impressions (000s). Zee Studio grabbed the fourth place with 1370 Impressions (000s) while  HBO bagged the fifth position with 1333 Impressions (000s). 

    Infotainment

    Discovery with an increase in the ratings from 4585 Impressions (000s) in week 17 to 4760 Impressions (000s) this week. History TV 18 with 3846 Impressions (000s) secured the second positon. National Geographic Channel grabbed the third position with 3214 Impressions (000s) followed by Animal Planet with 2498 Impressions (000s) and Nat Geo Wild with 1969 Impressions (000s) on the fourth and fifth position respectively.
