    BARC week 47: Vaseline Intensive Care Lotion’s position further improved

    MUMBAI: The Broadcast Audience Research Council of India (BARC) has released its data for top advertisers and brands for the period between 16 November and 22 November 2019.

    The data reflects top 10 advertiser and brands across genre on Indian television, including OOH screen, (U+R): 2+, Individuals NCCS All, demonstrating ads that were inserted the most in week 47 of 2019.

    Top Advertisers:

    A little shuffle in the top advertisers list released by BARC in the week 47 of 2019 was observed, as compared to the past week. Hindustan Unilever Ltd remained unmoved from the top spot this week as well. It had made 186608 ad insertions on TV. ITC Ltd climbed up a spot to rank second, with 55523 ad insertions.

    Ponds India also improved its position by a spot and ranked third this week with 43079 ad insertions. Reckitt Benckiser slipped down by two positions to rank fourth, with 42921 insertions. Fifth in the list was last weeks 9th ranker, Godrej Consumer Products Ltd, with 37824 insertions.

    Other top advertisers in the list were as follows: Wipro Ltd, Cadbury India Ltd, Brooke Bond Lipton India, Procter & Gamble, and Smithkline Beecham, respectively.

    Top Brands: 

    The top brands also witnessed little reshuffling in the BARC week 47 rankings. Lux Toilet Soap maintained its top position with 15393 ad insertions. Vaseline Intensive Care Lotion climbed up a spot to rank second with 14687 insertions.

    Santoor Sandal and Turmeric also improved its position by a spot, ranking third with 14220 ad insertions on TV. Trivago slipped down two spots to rank fourth with 14012 insertions. Ranking fifth was Horlicks, which improved its position by one rank, with 11076 insertions.

    Other top brands in the list were as follows: Surf Excel Easy Wash, Airtel 4G, Clinic Plus Shampoo, Santoor Beauty Soaps, and Colgate Dental Cream, respectively.

    MUMBAI: Time Network’s English news channel Times Now and English business news channel ET Now witnessed a fall in ratings but continued to dominate their respective genres.

     

    In the Hindi news genre, Aaj Tak led the genre while CNBC Awaaz in Hindi business news genre became the number one channel according to week 47 of Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India, all India (U+R) data.

     

    English News

     

    Times Now saw a fall in ratings this week but led the genre with 459 (000Sums) against 558 (000Sums) in week 46 followed by NDTV 24×7 in the second spot with 281 (000Sums) and India Today Television in the third slot with 233 (000Sums) respectively.

     

    CNN IBN with 224 (000Sums) and BBC World News with 175 (000Sums) bagged fourth and fifth spot respectively.

     

    English Business News

     

    ET Now continued to lead the genre and secured the leadership position with 264 (000Sums) against 381 (000Sums) in the previous week followed by CNBC TV18 in the second spot with 257 (000Sums). NDTV Profit & NDTV Prime with 83 (000Sums) stood in the third spot. Bloomberg TV maintained its position at the fourth spot with 21 (000Sums).

     

    Hindi News

     

    In week 47, Aaj Tak observed a decline in ratings but secured pole position with 77966 (000Sums) against 80873 (000Sums) in the previous week. India TV maintained its second position with 60871 (000Sums) followed by ABP News in the third place with 54566 (000Sums) and Zee News on the fourth spot with 50756 (000Sums). News Nation witnessed a drop in ratings but maintained its fifth position with 49680 (000Sums) as against 57997 (000Sums) in week 46.

     

    Hindi Business News

     

    CNBC Awaaz emerged as the leader in the genre and garnered the first position with 1222 (000Sums) followed by Zee Business in the second spot with 1058 (000Sums).

    BARC week 47: Sun TV maintains pole position across genres

    MUMBAI: Sun TV saw a rise in ratings and secured the leadership position across genres in week 47 of Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India, all India (U+R) data.

     

    Sun TV garnered first position with 1177131 (000Sums) followed by Star Plus with 880351 (000Sums) in second place and Zee Anmol on the third spot with 755888 (000Sums).

     

    Colors with 752613 (000Sums) grabbed fourth spot followed by Zee TV at the fifth position with 689444 (000Sums). Star Ustav grabbed the sixth position with 546827 (000Sums).

     

    Sony Max with 509918 (000Sums) bagged the seventh position in the segment while Zee Cinema stood at number eight, up from last week’s tenth position with 470171 (000Sums). Life Ok stepped down to number nine with 469811 (000Sums), while ETV Telugu stood at the tenth spot with 439697 (000Sums).
