    BARC week 27: Tamil GEC viewership ahead in regional chart

    NEW DELHI: In week 27 of BARC India ratings, no changes were observed in the Bangla market and Asianet Movies stayed no 1 for the fourth consecutive week in the Malayalam market. In the Gujarati market, Colors Gujarati Cinema was the only movie channel holding its position in the Gujarati market with 28555 impressions.

    In the Bangla market, Star Jalsha, Zee Bangla, Jalsha Movies, Colours Bangla and Sony Aath were the top five channels in week 27 of BARC India ratings.

    In Bhojpuri market, Bhojpuri Cinema, B4U Bhojpuri,Zee Biskope, Big Ganga and Bhojpuri Dhamaka Dishum were the top five channels in week 27 of BARC India ratings.

    In Gujarati market, Colors Gujarati Cinema, ABP Asmita, TV9 Gujarati, Zee 24 Kalak, and Sandesh News were the top five channels in week 27 of BARC India ratings.

    In the Kannada market, Zee Kannada,  Udaya TV, Colors Kannada, Star Suvarna and  Udaya Movies were the top five channels in week 27 of BARC India ratings.

    In the Malayalam market, Asianet, Surya TV, Flowers TV, Mazhavil Manorama and Zee Keralam were the top five channels in week 27  of BARC India ratings.

    ZeeTalkies, Star Pravah, Zee Marathi,  Shemaroo Marathibana and Fakt Marathi were the top Marathi channels in week 27 of BARC India ratings.

    PTC Punjabi, Pitaara TV, Zee Punjabi, 9X Tashan and MH One were the top five channels in week 27 of BARC India ratings in the Punjabi market.

    Sun TV, Zee Tamil, Star Vijay, KTV, and Star Vijay Super were the top five Tamil channels in week 27 of BARC India ratings.

    Star Maa, Zee Telugu, ETV Telugu, Gemini TV, and  Star Maa Movies were top-five Telugu channels in week 27 of BARC India ratings.

    Tarang, Zee Sarthak, Alankar, Colours Oriya, Prarthana were top-five Oriya channels in week 27 of BARC India ratings.

    MUMBAI: Continuing its reign as a genre lead, Viacom 18’s Nick was again the topmost watched channel in the kids entertainment segment, according to Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India’s all India (U+R) data for week 27 in NCCS All 4-14 Individuals category.

    The channel has bagged 81167 (000s sums) as opposed to 86062 (000s sums) impressions last week showing a drop in its ratings, Nick is followed by Turner International’s Cartoon Network which has jumped from fourth to second position by securing 68299 (000s sums) impressions from 48093 (000s sums) in week 26.

    Cartoon Network is followed by Hungama from Disney India on the third spot with 57530 (000s sums) impressions and Pogo TV 56313 (000s sums) impressions giving it the fourth rank on the list.

    These are followed closely at heel by Disney Channel which has seen a significant drop in its viewership from 61691 (000s sums) last week to 52522(000s sums) this week.

    When it comes to the top five most watched programs in the genre, Motu Patlu and Chhota Bheem has yet again proved itselves as genre favourites.

    Nick’s Motu Patlu In Double Trouble lead the chart with 1071 (000s sums), followed by Motu Patlu Mission Moon from the same franchise grabbing the second spot with with 665 (000s sums) impressions.

    With a slightly lower ratings of 643 (000s sums) Motu Patlu Kungfu King Returns was third most watched show in the category while Chhota Bheem: Dholakpur To Japan was fourth in the list with 522 (000s sums).

    Chhota Bheem: Dholakpur to Kathmandu was fifth in the list with 515 (000s sums) viewership impressions. Overall one could notice a drop in total viewership in the genre.

    MUMBAI: Even after seeing a drop in ratings, Star Plus continued to lead Urban + Rural genre and Urban Hindi speaking market (HSM),  whereas in Rural HSM Zee Anmol led the genre, according to Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) All India data of week 27. 

    Urban+Rural HSM

    In combined market, loss in some ratings did not affect Star Plus’s lead position with 677948 Impressions (000s) against 698563 Impressions (000s) in week 26, while Colors saw a rise in ratings this week to be the second with 625834 Impressions against 618151 Impressions (000s) in week 26. It was followed by Zee TV on third slot with 584403 Impressions (000s). 

    Zee Network’s free to air channel grabbed the fourth position with 473813 Impressions (000s) and Star Utsav at fifth slot with 458291 Impressions (000s). 

    Sony Pal stood at sixth with 408104 Impressions (000s) followed by Life OK at number seven with 387371 Impressions (000s) and Sony Entertainment Television replaced Sab TV at number  eighth with  361369 Impressions (000s). Sab TV fell to number nine with 356611 Impressions (000s) and Rishtey maintained its tenth spot with 289479 Impressions (000s). 

    Top Five Programmes

    In week 27, Zee TV’s prime time show Kumkum Bhagya continued to lead the top five programmes list with 13494 Impressions (000s) followed by Zee Anmol’s Jodha Akbar with 9930 Impressions and Star Plus’ prime time show Yeh Hai Mohabbatein with 9657 Impressions (000s). On the other hand, Colors’ Comedy Nights Live entered the list and stood at number four with 8889 Impressions (000s) and Star Plus’ Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai bagged fifth slot with 8471 Impressions (000s). 

    Urban HSM

    Star Plus garnered first position with a rise in ratings and recorded  459294 Impressions (000s)  followed by Colors on second position with 435791 Impressions (000s) and  Zee TV with 328823 Impressions (000s) stood at number three.  

    Sab TV maintained its fourth slot with 257375 Impressions (000s) followed by with Sony Entertainment Television 256479 Impressions (000s) stood at number five and Life OK stood at number sixth with 253921 Impressions (000s).

    In Urban HSM,  &TV climbed up at number seven with 121712 Impressions (000s) followed by Sony Pal with 107125 Impressions (000s) on eighth and Zee Anmol bagged ninth spot with 104516 Impressions (000s).  Star Utsav  bagged tenth spot with 104101 Impressions (000s).

    Top Five programmes

    In Urban HSM,  Zee TV’s prime time bagged first position with 7545 Impressions (000s) followed by  Colors’ Comedy Nights Live at second slot with 7176 Impressions (000s) and Star Plus’ Yeh Hai Mohabbatein with 6518 Impressions (000s). 

    Star Plus’ another show Dance + Season 2 bagged the fourth spot with 5915 Impressions (000s) and Colors’ Kasam stood at five with 5734 Impressions (000s). 

    Rural HSM 

    Zee Anmol continued to claim leadership position with 369297 Impressions (000’s), while Star Utsav bagged second position with 354191 Impressions (000s) followed by  Sony Pal on third slot with 300979 Impressions (000s) and Zee Tv stood at four with 255580 Impressions (000s).

    Star Plus replaced Rishtey at fifth spot with 218654  Impressions (000s)  while Rishtey grabbed sixth spot with 204673 Impressions (000s) followed by Colors at number seven with 190043 Impressions (000s) and Life Ok which stood at eight with 133450 Impressions (000s).

    Big Magic grabbed ninth spot with 119435 while Sony Entertainment Television stood at tenth 104890 Impressions (000s).

    Top Five programmes

    In week 27, Zee Anmol’s Jodha Akbar  and Bandini booked the first and second slot with 7686 Impressions (000s) and 6198  Impressions (000s) respectively. Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya grabbed the third spot with 5950 Impressions (000s) followed by Zee Anmol Kasam Hai Tujhe Aa Bhi Jaa and Zee TV’s Ek THa Raja Ek Thi Rani bagged fourth and fifth slot with 4191 Impressions (000s) and 3956 Impressions (000s) respectively.

    MUMBAI: According to week 27 of BARC India, six Mega Cities: NCCS AB : 4+ Individuals rating, Star World replaced Zee Café on top spot in English Entertainment and Movies Now regained its top spot from Star Movies in the respective spaces.

    Infotainment and Lifestyles genres did not see much change with Discovery and Living Foodz leading the spaces.

    English Entertainment

    Star world has moved up a position to number one in comparison to it second spot in week 26 with 176 Impressions (000s). Zee café dropped to second spot with 152 impressions (000s). Comedy central is on third spot with 105 impressions (000s).

    AXN with 102 Impressions (000s) and Colors Infinity SD with 42 Impressions (000s) secured fourth and fifth positions respectively.

    Movies

    Movies Now repossessed its top position with 3338 impressions (000s), pushing Star Movies to second rank with 2939 impressions (000s). Sony Pix secured third spot with 2132 impressions (000s). Zee studio  was on fourth spot with 1383 Impressions (000s), followed by HBO on fifth rank with 1104 Impressions (000s).

    Infotainment

    Discovery continued to lead the space with 4327 impressions (000s), followed by National Geographic Channel on second position with 3627 impressions (000s). Animal Planet with 3010 impressions (000s) is on third position.

    History TV18 with 2768 impressions (000s) and Nat Geo Wild with 2119 impressions (000s) were on fourth and fifth spot respectively.

    Lifestyle

    The space was yet again topped by Living Foodz with 1677 Impressions (000s), followed by Fox Life with 899 Impressions (000s) on second spot. Home Shop 18 was on third position with 822 impressions (000s). Food Food grabbed fourth position with 541 impressions (000s) and Shop CJ dropped a position to last spot with 539 impressions (000s).

    MUMBAI: According to week 27 of BARC rating, English News and English Business News saw a drop in overall ratings, Times Now and CNBC TV 18 topped respective spaces. Aaj Tak was the leader in Hindi News space and Hindi Business News was topped by CNBC Awaaz but with a decline in rating.

    Times Now grabbed the top spot with 215 Impressions (000s) but saw a drop in rating, comparing to 346 Impressions (000s) of week 26. NDTV 24×7 improved by two ranks and secured second position with 97 Impressions (000s) in comparison to its fourth position last week. India Today Television dropped a position and ranked third spot with 94 Impressions (000s), also with a heavy drop in rating from 128 Impressions (000s) last week.

    CNN News18 with 63 Impressions (000s) held fourth spot, followed by News X on last rank with 54 Impressions (000s).

    English Business News

    CNBC TV 18 remained on its first spot with 74 Impressions (000s), followed by ET Now on second rank with 56 Impressions (000s).  NDTV Profit and NDTV Prime bagged third position with 22 Impressions (000s). Bloomberg TV with 3 Impressions (000s) held on fourth position.

    Aaj Tak maintained number one position with 65077 Impressions (000s). India TV bagged the second rank with 54378 Impressions (000s), followed by India News on third position with 45734 Impressions (000s).
