    Colors replaces Zee TV in week 29 of BARC India ratings

    MUMBAI: Colors channel made a comeback and replaced Zee TV at the third spot on the pay platform in week 29 of 2020 ( Saturday 18 July 2020 to Friday 24 July 2020) of Broadcast Audience Research Council of India (BARC) data.  Dangal, which was at seventh spot for many weeks, slipped down to ninth position in the urban market. Star Utsav from being at number one position slipped down to third spot in the rural market paving way for Zee Anmol.

    On pay platform Star Plus, Sony Sab, Colors, Zee TV, Star Utsav,Sony Entertainment Television,  Zee Anmol,   Star Bharat, Sony Pal and Dangal  were the top ten channels in week 29 of BARC India ratings.  

    Pay Platform

    In the urban market Star Plus, Sony SAB, STAR Utsav, Colors, Sony Entertainment Television, Zee TV, Zee Anmol, Sony Pal, Dangal and Colors Rishtey were the top ten channels in week 29 of BARC India ratings.  

    Urban

    In the rural market top ten channels were Zee Anmol, Dangal, STAR Utsav, Colors Rishtey, Sony Pal, Star Plus, Big Magic, Sony SAB, Zee TV, and Colors in week 29 of BARC India ratings.

    Rural

    On the free platform Zee Anmol,Dangal, Star Utsav, Colors Ristey, Sony Pal, Big Magic, DD National, Manorajan Grand, DD Bharati, and DD Retro were the top channels in week 29 of BARC ratings.

  • BARC week 36: Zee TV moves to 2nd position on pay platform

    BARC week 36: Zee TV moves to 2nd position on pay platform

    MUMBAI: Zee TV has regained its second position in week 36 of BARC India ratings on pay platform. Last week Sony Entertainment Television was seen at second position pushing Zee TV to third. The channel has garnered 673175 weekly impressions (000s) sum on the pay platform while in the urban market it has moved up to fourth position from fifth last week. SET continues to hold its second position in the urban market. 

    Star Plus continues to hold its leading position on pay platform. Zee TV, Sony Entertainment Television, Sony SAB, Colors, Star Bharat, Dangal, Sony Pal, Star Utsav and &TV were seen at second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth positions respectively. 

    Pay

    Apart from Colors and Zee TV exchanging their place at fourth and fifth position, the pecking order of rest of the channels remained unchanged. 

    Urban

    Dangal, Big Magic, DD National, DD Arunprabha, DD Bharati, DD Uttar Pradesh, DD Rajasthan and DD Madhya Pradesh are the top eight channels in week 36 of BARC India ratings.

    Free 

    In week 36 of BARC India ratings, Zee Anmol replaced Star Utsav at tenth position. Colors and Sony Entertainment Television exchanged their place at sixth and seventh position. Dangal, Big Magic, Zee TV, Star Plus, Sony SAB, Colors, Sony Entertainment Television, Star Bharat, Sony Pal and Zee Anmol were at first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth positions respectively.

    English & Hindi News ratings decline, Business News space in both languages witnessed increase

    MUMBAI: According to week 21 of BARC India ratings, genre leaders continued to dominate their respective spaces. While, Times Now continued to top the English News genre, ET Now grabbed the top spot in English Business News.

    In the Hindi News genre Aaj Tak stood at number one position while CNBC Awaaz secured the first spot in Hindi Business News space. 

    Meanwhile, English News genre saw a decline in the ratings whereas except ET Now, the other channels in the English Business News space saw an increase in viewership. The Hindi News genre also witnessed a downfall in its ratings except for News Nation while the Hindi Business News space saw a substantial increase in its ratings.

    English News

    Times Now maintained its number one spot with a decline in rating to 436 Impressions (000s) this week from 523 Impressions (000s) last week. India Today Television stood on second position with 175 Impressions followed by NDTV 24×7 at the thirs spot with 152 Impressions (000s). CNN News18 took the fourth berth with 152 Impressions (000s). While NDTV 24×7 moved down to fourth position with 224 Impressions (000s). News 9 entered the top 5 list at the fifth position with 86 Impressions (000s).

    English Business News

    ET Now continued to top its space with a downfall in the rating with 115 Impressions (000s) as compared to 129 Impressions (000s) last week. CNBC TV18 also saw a slight improvement with 109 Impressions (000s). NDTV Profit and NDTV Prime continued at its third position with 31 Impressions (000s). Bloomberg TV was on last spot with 10 Impressions (000s).

    Hindi News

    Aaj Tak sustained its number one position with 67008 Impressions (000s) followed by India TV with a decline in ratings grabbing the second spot with 62015 Impressions (000s) as to 64910 Impressions (000s) in week 20. ABP News garnered 42484 Impressions (000s) and grabbed third spot wile India News with 39779 Impressions (000s) was on fourth position. News Nation with an increase in the ratings from 38794 Impressions (000s) last week to 36496 Impressions (000s) bagged the fifth position. 

    Hindi Business News

    CNBC Awaaz maintained top position with improved ratings from 663 Impressions (000s) from last week to 671 Impressions (000s) in week 21. The second spot was taken by Zee Business with 460 Impressions (000s) in comparison to 457 Impressions (000s) in week 20.
