“We believe every dream deserves a voice,” said Axis Bank president & chief marketing officer Anoop Manohar. “Splash is more than a competition; it’s a celebration of creativity, courage and possibility.”

Planet Marathi founder faces FIR after Bombay HC order on forgery

MUMBAI: The drama has moved off-screen and into the courtroom Planet Marathi’s founder Akshay Bardapurkar now faces a real-life script of forgery, fraud, and financial conspiracy after the Bombay High Court ordered the registration of an FIR against him and three others.

A Bench of Justice Ravindra V. Ghuge and Justice Gautam Ashwin Ankhad, ruling on Criminal Writ Petition No. 4170 of 2025 filed by former partner Soumya Vilekar, directed Mulund Police to book Bardapurkar, casting director Manali Dixit, notary Dodha Doulat Ahire, and Dhaval Shah.

At the heart of the case is a forged partnership deed dated 3 October 2023, allegedly bearing Vilekar’s signature, photograph, and a fake notarisation. She claims she never signed the document, which was used to approach Axis Bank, Deutsche Bank, and others to secure loans and dispose of intellectual property, all without her knowledge.

Vilekar maintains that her only valid exit was through a Deed of Admission-cum-Retirement dated 15 January 2024, and accuses Bardapurkar of fabricating the earlier deed to siphon funds. She says she was left battling multiple litigations originally aimed at the company, exposing her to reputational and financial harm.

“This is not merely forged paperwork, it’s a premeditated act of fraud and conspiracy,” Vilekar said, adding that Bardapurkar had diverted company funds for personal expenses and unauthorised purposes.

The fallout for Planet Marathi has been severe. Its offices have remained shut for months, the app has ceased operations, and employees have resigned en masse. The company is also facing NCLT liquidation proceedings, while Bardapurkar himself is entangled in multiple legal battles:

. Rs 87 lakh cheque bounce case filed by Aayush Shah

. Rs 20 lakh dishonour case filed by Mausam Shah

. Personal insolvency proceedings by Verse

. Several Section 138 NI Act cases across Mumbai, Pune, and beyond

The High Court’s intervention comes after Vilekar alleged that Mulund Police failed to act despite her submitting documentary evidence. The ruling marks another twist in a saga that has seen Planet Marathi, once touted as a Marathi OTT disruptor, now teetering between financial collapse and criminal scrutiny.

As the courtroom script unfolds, Bardapurkar, once celebrated as a cultural entrepreneur now finds himself at the centre of a story where the plot revolves around liabilities, litigation, and law enforcement.

Axis Bank & Lowe Lintas unveil Heartwarming festive campaign

Mumbai: Axis Bank, one of the largest private sector banks in India has unveiled its festive campaign ‘Dil Se Open Celebrations’, aiming to capture the true spirit of Indian festivals. Conceptualized by Lowe Lintas, the campaign highlights the importance of doing good deeds, not just during festivals but every day, because “achhai kabhi rukni nahi chahiye.”

The campaign is rolled out in two phases. In phase one, Axis Bank celebrated the vibrant traditions of Ganesh Utsav and Onam, bringing alive the warmth and joy associated with these festivals. Beyond the festive celebrations, the films emphasized the importance of making small, thoughtful gestures every day and celebrating the people around them in meaningful ways throughout the year.

Phase two builds on this festive spirit with the ongoing celebration of Navratri and the upcoming Diwali. While the culture and traditions showcased in every film are distinct from each other, the campaign acts as a reminder to the audience that the spirit of compassion, togetherness, and self-care that we imbibe during festivals is the true representation of being Dil Se Open. should carry on into our everyday lives.

Axis Bank chief marketing officer Anoop Manohar said, “Festivals inspire goodness in many forms- reunions with family, reviving the spirit of community, going the extra mile for our loved ones and much more. Our campaigns urge people to embrace the essence of these traditions throughout the year and not be limited to the festive alone. India is a land of many festivals, and we have used regional nuances of these festivals in a series of heartwarming films to bring this narrative to life. The plethora of offers available on credit cards and other banking products are an apt enabler for keeping these traditions alive during and after the festival”.

Lowe Lintas president Kapil Batra said, “This campaign builds on Axis Bank’s ‘Dil Se Open’ philosophy, encouraging people to embrace kindness throughout the year. Kudos to the team for bringing this idea alive by capturing very relatable and unique moments that make each festival truly special.”

Lowe Lintas executive director Prathamesh Gharat said “With ‘Dil Se Open Celebrations,’ our goal was to celebrate not only the festivals but the emotions and values that come with them. Indian festivals beautifully highlight the bonds we share, but it’s the everyday moments of kindness and compassion that truly make life special. Through this campaign, we want to encourage people to continue carrying that spirit forward, to show that being ‘Dil Se Open’ is a way of life, not just during festive times, but all year round.”

  • Axis Bank launches its digital bank proposition – ‘open by Axis Bank’

Axis Bank launches its digital bank proposition – ‘open by Axis Bank’

Mumbai: Axis Bank has joined forces with Publicis Worldwide India to unveil its largest-ever and fully integrated campaign, Sirf Aapke Liye, which not only supports the launch of its new mobile-banking app ‘open by Axis Bank’, but also aims to reposition the bank as a digital-first organization.

The integrated campaign has been conceptualised by Publicis Worldwide India and will consist of five TV commercials and ten digital films, featuring a variety of stories for individuals from all walks of life. It will be rolled out across channels, including TV, print, OOH, and digital.

This initiative seeks to revolutionize the digital banking landscape while upholding the bank’s core principles of ‘open’—a commitment to innovation, transparency, and customer-centricity.

Publicis Worldwide India managing director Oindrila Roy said, “This campaign marks an important juncture in the journey of Axis Bank. The brand is making a pivot to being a digital-first bank and the campaign is designed to communicate the same. When entrusted with this campaign, the strategy was to help Axis Bank make this transition while remaining true to its DNA and the legacy that it has created over the years. The campaign positions ‘open by Axis Bank’ app as a liberator that seeks to free customers from the everyday banking inefficiencies and transform banking into an effortless and enjoyable experience.”

The campaign transcends the realm of traditional banking and introduces a truly human experience in the digital-banking category.

Axis Bank CMO Anoop Manohar said, “This is a significant milestone in Axis Bank’s journey. As we continue to grow and adapt to the digital future, our core value of being ‘Dil Se Open’ will remain our guiding light, ensuring our offerings are both cutting-edge and rooted in the trust and familiarity our customers have come to expect.”

At the core of the campaign lies relatability. The films introduce the audiences to every day, relatable characters who find themselves in situations that are all too familiar – waiting in long queues, traveling great distances, and enduring tedious banking processes. However, as the stories unfold, it becomes evident that these individuals were not merely engaged in banking but pursuing their passions and joys. ‘open by Axis Bank’ emerges as an intuitive app that helps the consumer navigate the complex world of banking quite easily.

“The communication focusses on positioning ‘open by Axis Bank’ as an app designed to live up to the bank’s promise of keeping the consumer at the centre of the banking experience. The communication embodies that and hence the title is ‘Sirf Aapke liye’. The campaign represents a significant step forward in the world of digital banking, making Axis Bank not just a financial institution but a partner in the pursuit of happiness and fulfilment,” added Publicis Worldwide India executive creative directors Srijan Shukla and Pratheeb Ravi.

The commercials are scheduled to air during the highly anticipated Men’s Cricket World Cup, among other channels. In addition to TV, it will also have a strong digital presence, with video and social media platforms amplifying the message. Additionally, in-branch and out-of-home (OOH) promotions will guarantee that the campaign reaches a large audience.
