    BPCL wins 9 awards at the 16th Global Communication Conclave

    Mumbai: Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (BPCL) has bagged a total of nine excellence awards for corporate collaterals at the 16th Global Communication Conclave organised by the Public Relations Council of India (PRCI) in Kolkata on 12 November 2022.

    The company received nine awards in the following categories: public relations, business campaigns, use of social media and campaigns, annual reports, corporate events, and corporate responsibility campaigns.

    The Public Relations Council of India (PRCI) is a pan-India communication exchange forum with offices in 38 cities and towns across India. This premier network connects PR, media, commercial and public service advertising, marcom, academia in communication, and students. The PRCI Annual Corporate Collateral Awards for corporate communications are presented annually to recognise talent and professional standards.

    BPCL was recognised for its purpose-driven public relations and brand strategy that adds delightful dynamism to communication and the manner in which BPCL leverages the power of both traditional and digital media to reach the relevant target audience.

    On behalf of the company, BPCL’s top employees, including public relations and brand chief general manager Abbas Akhtar, head retail East Debashis Naik, and public relations & brand general manager Charu Yadav, received the awards.

    Earlier, Akhtar was bestowed with the coveted honour of being inducted into the PRCI ‘Hall of Fame’ – an illustrious league of “the best of the best” industry professionals—for his exceptional contributions to the field of PR and leveraging its potential in innovative and pragmatic ways.     Striking the right note: Clef Music Awards’22 unveils the winners in a glitzy ceremony

    Mumbai: It was a scintillating Saturday night at Mumbai’s Sahara Star hotel as the stars aligned to stage the second edition of Indiantelevision.com’s Clef Music Awards 2022.

    In India, one tends to associate music with films or Bollywood music, but there’s so much more out there waiting to be discovered. Raising a toast to all such independent musicians & original music creators, the CMA awards honoured musical accomplishments for the period August 2021 – August 2022 in a one-of-a-kind celebration held on 24 September. The first edition of the event took place virtually last year due to the restrictions imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic.

    This year’s event commenced with a poignant moment as the ITV founder and editor-in-chief Anil Wanvari posthumously recalled the contributions of the industry’s legends and music veterans, namely Bappi Lahiri, KK Menon, Bhupinder Singh, and the nightingale of India, Lata Mangeshkar, all of whom we lost in the past year.

    The Radio & Music Clef Music Awards (CMA) integrates musicians, lyricists, composers, bands, record labels, from the Hindi & English language music fraternity pan-India as it celebrates talent across the musical spectrum, classified into over 40 categories, ranging from Hindustani and devotional music to rap, folk, ghazal, sufi, pop, electronic, and rock music.

    The jury members included eminent names from the industry, such as Abhijeet Sawant, Amit Sana, Ankush Bhardwaj, Atul Churamani, Bhaskar Pal, Divya Kumar, Heena Kriplani, Mayur Puri, Prashant Ingole, Sanjeev Kohli, Santosh Nair, Shikhar Yuvraj Manchanda, and Sunnyy Vyas.

    Notable names from the world of music, such as Leslie Lewis, Amit Sana, Kavita Seth, and Sonu Kakkar, to name a few, also marked their attendance at the event.

    Mumbai: India’s largest advertising supported video on demand (AVoD) OTT platform MX Player received three awards at the recently held Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Awards 2022 for the platform and its original series Aashram. 

    While MX Player was awarded the Best OTT Platform, Prakash Jha was awarded the Best Director for web-series Aashram and Chandan Roy Sanyal was given the Best Supporting Actor Award for his portrayal as Bhopa Swami in Aashram. 

    Operating on an ad-supported model, MX Player has a large and diverse audience base in India and a global reach of 33+ markets and a keen understanding of the pulse of the audience. It has recently launched several record-breaking web-series like Aashram, Bhaukaal Matsya Kaand, Samantar, High and Campus Diaries.

    MX Player launched the third season of Aashram on 3 June 2022. With all the quintessential requisites of an entertaining show that combines politics, crime, and drama, Ek Badnaam… Aashram 3 revolves around the meteoric rise of godmen in India and how the masses blindly follow them in the name of religion. Beating its record of the previous two seasons, the latest season 3 garnered 100 million views within 32 hours of its release. Directed by Prakash Jha, the series features an ensemble cast comprising Bobby Deol, Aaditi Pohankar, Chandan Roy Sanyal, Darshan Kumaar, Esha Gupta, Sachin Shroff, Adhyayan Suman, Tridha Choudhury, Vikram Kochhar, Anuritta K Jha, Rushad Rana, Tanmaay Ranjan, Preeti Sood, Rajeev Siddhartha, Anupriya Goenka and Jaya Seal Ghosh in pivotal roles.

    The Best Director award was received by Prakash Jha Productions (PJP) CEO Sunil Agarwal, PJP creative head Madhvi Bhatt and PJP producer Disha Jha. 

    On winning the Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Awards 2022 Best Director for the series Aashram, Prakash Jha said, “I feel truly honoured to be given Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Awards 2022 for Best Director for web series Aashram. It was indeed a pleasure working with the team of MX Player who supported us throughout all our decisions. Unfortunately, I cannot personally come and receive it due to unavoidable reasons. I would like to thank the Jury for considering me and giving me this award.”

    Chandan Roy Sanyal won the Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Awards 2022 Best Actor in Supporting Role for the series, Aashram. On receiving the award, Chandan said, “This is my first award ever, and it is because of all your support and blessings of our ‘Father of Indian Cinema,’ Dadasaheb Phalke, that today I am standing here in front of you all. It is such a great feeling to receive an award like this. I would like to thank the team of MX Player, our director Prakash Jha Sir, Bobby Deol, and the entire team present here today who believed in me and showered me with their blessings and love.”

    Dedicated to the ‘Father of Indian Cinema’, the Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Awards is given to the entertainment industry every year to recognise outstanding contributions in different categories. Celebrating the 151th Anniversary year of Dadasaheb Phalke this year, the 18th edition of the awards ceremony held in Mumbai had reputed producers, directors, actors, writers, musicians, technicians, distributors, exhibitors and studio owners from OTT, TV and films grace the event and be recognised for their work.

    Mumbai: India scored 14 more shortlists- 8 in ‘film category’ and 6 under ‘Sustainable Development Goals’ category on day four of the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity 2022, rounding off its total shortlists tally to a stunning 121.

    In film lions, Battlegrounds Mobile India ‘Machine Gun Mouth’ crafted by DDB Mudra secured three shortlists. ‘Jaquar Bath & Lights – Office’ created by Enormous Brands and Bhima Jewellery’s ‘Pure as Love’ by Animal scored one shortlist each in the category.

    SOS Children’s Villages India’s young brand ambassador ‘Chatpat’ created by Kinnect + FCB India + FCB Chicago also earned two shortlists. The campaign earned one shortlist in Sustainable Development Goals Lions as well.

    The other shortlists under the Sustainable Development Goals Lions category include P&G Whisper’s ‘The Missing Chapter’ conceptualised by Leo Burnett Mumbai which earned two shortlists.

    VMLY&R Commerce’s ‘Smart Fill’ campaign for Unilever gained one shortlist, while another shortlist was scored by the Adeli campaign for Unipads’ crafted by VMLY&R Mumbai.

    Isobar’s ‘The Protest Match – The Finals That Could Have Happened’ for Global ESports’ also picked up a single shortlist.

    GoaFest 2022: Mindshare and BCCL bag the Media and Publisher Abbys awards

    Mumbai: Mindshare and Bennett Coleman and Company Limited (BCCL) bagged Media and Publisher Abby awards at Abby 2022 held at Grand Hyatt, Goa on Thursday.

    Mindshare was honoured with the ‘agency of the year award’ and BCCL won the ‘publisher of the year award’  on day one of the fifteenth edition of the Goafest.

    Meanwhile, Lodestar UM took home the Grand Prix for their campaign for Mumbai Police – ‘The Punishing Signal’.

    Goafest 2022 is held after a two years gap due to the Covid pandemic. This year, a total of 1014 entries for the Media Abby from 54 different agencies were accepted. Out of these, 356 entries from 25 agencies made it to the shortlists.

    A total of 15 Publisher ABBYs and 87 Media ABBYs were awarded on day one of the adfest. For Publisher ABBYs, five Gold, three Silver and seven Bronze were awarded. Four entries were given a Certificate of Merit. For Media ABBYs, 21 Gold, 28 Silver, and 37 Bronze were awarded.

    This year, for the first time, The Advertising Club collaborated with The One Show, taking the ABBY Awards to global standards of recognition.

    Media agency Mindshare collected eight gold medals and bagged the top honour, while BCCL won the gold for its best marketing of a printed newspaper/edition of its brand ‘The Times of India’ and its campaign titled ‘The Trust of India.’

    Cheil India won the gold for best use of native or branded content for client brand marketing by a publisher for its campaign ‘#UncoverTheEpic : Samsung x Nat Geo Traveller’ for Samsung.

    FCB Group India picked two golds for best launch marketing of a new title of newspaper/magazine/digital publication and best promotion of a CSR/ cause-related marketing initiative in traditional or online space- both for Times of India (TOI) and the Times Out & Proud Classifieds campaign.

    In a first, this year The Advertising Club collaborated with The One Show, taking the ABBY Awards to global standards of recognition. The event also saw participation from internationally acclaimed jury chairs.

    “2022 is a landmark year because of the collaboration of the ABBY Awards with The One Show, and this is a game-changing proposition,” said The Advertising Club president Partha Sinha, discussing the ABBY Awards at Goafest 2022. “It gives a platform to a plethora of agencies, enabling it to become more global. We owe it to the industry to bring something of global standing especially when we are one large world.”

    “A staggering number of participants has been witnessed, surpassing all previous records,” said Abby Awards Governing Council 2022 chairman & VP of The Ad Club Rana Barua said about the ABBYs Awards. “In addition to agencies that have participated since our inception, we have also seen those returning every year. Overall, the numbers are higher this month since we had to package everything together in one month. This year and henceforth, Goafest will be considerably bigger and more extravagant,” added Barua.

    Winners of Indian Telly Streaming Awards 2021 announced

    Mumbai: The last two years have indeed been a hallmark year for the streaming industry with a record number of OTT content being produced across all languages.  Even as the established players bolstered their presence in the market, several new platforms have emerged, creating a host of opportunities for writers, actors, directors to showcase their talent.

    It is this wave of talent that Indiantelevision.com attempted to recognise at the Indian Telly Streaming Awards 2021. The awards are an extension of the first-ever Television Award show – The Indian Telly Awards in India that recognise both on-screen and behind-the-scenes of television in India every year. Considering the evolving situation of the pandemic, the winners of 2021 were announced virtually during an event on Thursday.

    The idea was to honour the best of the streaming industry – business, creative, and talent, and recognise the effort that goes into making premium originals in India. The awards were announced across different categories which included Best Actor, Best Actress, Best animation online first, Best Talk Show, Best Documentary, Best Editor, Best DOP, Best Title Track, Best writer as well as Best Comic.

    The selection was done by an eminent jury which included OML CEO Gunjan Arya, Isspeshal StratCon CEO Ashish Patil, director of photography Dharam Gulati, Dabur head of media Rajiv Dubey, House of Cheer Networks MD Rajiv Nayak, actor Rohit Roy, filmmaker Omung Kumar Bhandula, Ellipsis Entertainment managing partner Tanuj Garg, Jigsaw Pictures founder Rajbish Lal, Contiloe producer Roopali Kadyan, We Log trustee Ravina Raj Kohli, IN10 Media Network VP – Corporate Strategy and development Mansi Darbar, and Milestone Movies director Monisha Singh Katial.
