    GroupM appoints Gurpreet Singh as head of performance for GroupM Nexus India

    Mumbai: GroupM, WPP’s media investment group, has announced the  appointment of Gurpreet Singh as the head of performance at GroupM Nexus in India. He brings  with him more than 15 years’ experience in the digital marketing industry and has carved a niche  for himself in the performance marketing domain. He joins the GroupM Nexus India team from  Performics- Publicis Groupe, where he held the position of Managing Partner.  

    In his new position at GroupM Nexus, Singh will be responsible for driving a high-performance  culture. He will play a pivotal role in deploying the latest technology, data, and automation  solutions. His expertise in handling diverse sectors in digital marketing will prove to be critical in  powering the next era of performance media at GroupM Nexus in India.

    Singh excels in formulating intricate strategies tailored for large-scale performance media  campaigns. His expertise extends towards efficiently supervising and guiding teams, ensuring  seamless execution of projects, and achieving optimal Return on Investment (ROI) for clients.

    GroupM India elevates Atique Kazi to president – data, performance and digital products

    Mumbai: GroupM India, WPP’s media investment group, Friday elevated Atique Kazi to president – Data, Performance and Digital Products, with effect from 2 August. 

    Kazi will be based out of the agency’s Mumbai office and report to GroupM South Asia CEO Prasanth Kumar and Xaxis APAC CEO Arshan Saha. He will also be joining the conglomerate’s executive committee, the company said in a statement.

    Kazi has been a part of the GroupM family since 2013. He was integral in launching Xaxis in India before moving to Singapore to take over a regional role. He established the agency’s AI-enabled influencer marketing solution, INCA across 10 key markets.

    In his new role, Atique will continue to build on the brand’s best practices and technologies across the fields of data analytics, deep learning, process mining, performance marketing and business intelligence to create efficient, fast, and scalable value-added processes, it further said.

    Welcoming Kazi on board, Prasanth Kumar said, “At GroupM our focus is to continue evolving by offering flexible, scalable and innovative solutions. Atique joining the core team at GroupM India is the reflection of our commitment towards offering digital solutions that can create great value-add for brands in this ever-evolving market.     Before joining GroupM Kazi was a part of Yahoo! in London heading planning and strategy for emerging markets in EMEA. His career pedigree also spans The Economist, The Times Group, JVC etc over the past 18+ years.

    ‘GroupM Circuit Colombo 2014’ to pave the way for the newest phase in media

    MUMBAI: Global digital expert and leading media innovator GroupM on Tuesday announced ‘GroupM Circuit Colombo 2014,’ which will take place in Colombo on 4 December, featuring an impressive line-up of speakers and a comprehensive programme.

    GroupM Circuit will be a platform to discuss the future of digital marketing featuring speakers from digital powerhouses Google, Facebook, Xaxis and GroupM. The event will be held at Park Street Mews and will be attended by heads of organisations and heads of marketing of top corporates.

    GroupM chief operating officer Sabry Haniz affirmed: “The potential of digital is yet to be fully realised.     Xaxis India director Atique Kazi will speak on ‘Programmatic that works – The Basics, The Opportunities and The Pitfalls!’ Kazi will shed light on the basics of the subject while explaining how to leverage programmatic advertising, demystify programmatic, dispel misconceptions, and provide pointers to making programmatic work.
    A panel discussion on ‘Comparing ROI of Digital Media to Traditional Media’ will follow. Despite digital media being a buzzword within the industry for a number of years, only a handful of brands have tapped its inherent potential; too often, it is a last minute add-on to a media plan. This discussion will plumb the depths of this topic, comparing the ROI between traditional media and its digital counterparts.

     

    GroupM India Social Practice Head Karthik Nagarajan will address the topic: ‘Can Social have a Strategy?’ While going viral is the marketer’s dream, the internet is a graveyard of many such initiatives. This session will analyse the success of some of the most socially-active brands globally and delve into their strategies through case studies.
    His session will be followed by a panel discussion on ‘The Value of an Online Influencer’. Trends in data suggest that the modern consumer is increasingly wary of an advertiser’s promise, relying more on external recommendations, which are perceived to be unbiased. The discussion will explore the value of an online influencer to a brand, and how best to leverage a positive review, and manage negative sentiments.

     

    Facebook Global Marketing Solutions Agency Head Vidyadhar Kale will discuss ‘From Mobile Marketing to Marketing in a Mobile World’. He will explore mobility and how it will be the driving force for Facebook, and digital media overall. The address will include data on Sri Lankans and mobile trends.

     

    The panel discussion ‘What’s Next in Digital?’ will evaluate the receptiveness of the relatively conservative Sri Lankan audience and will explore both, a forecast for digital media in Sri Lanka, as well as how communications teams can best exploit these trends. This will be followed by the keynote panel discussion moderated by GroupM South Asia CEO CVL Srinivas on ‘Marketing in the Digital Age,’ as he speaks to leading marketers across brands in Sri Lanka on their experienced with digital media and advertising.

     

    The GroupM Circuit Colombo will also feature an interactive ‘Experiential Zone’ by Crossworks Digital Experiential Lab showcasing state of the art technology for participants to experience first hand. The inspiring collection will include a Holobox display unit, a Directional speaker, Marker based AR on brochures and magazines, a Digital Sampling Tray, an Oculus rift, a Virtual Wardrobe, a Recipe Vending machine, and a Magic screen.

    GroupM appoints Atique Kazi as director Xaxis India

    MUMBAI: GroupM has appointed Atique Kazi as director of Xaxis, India.

    Kazi moves in from Yahoo!, and in his new role, will be reporting to GroupM India head of trading Prasant Kumar and head of digital Tushar Vyas.

    Commenting on the appointment, Kumar says, “Atique brings with him a decade of experience traversing sales, strategy, partnerships and new media technologies. His international experience coupled with his passion for digital and brands will help us scale Xaxis and make it a truly new age company.”

    Talking about his new role, Kazi says, “I look forward to an exciting and enriching career at Xaxis. My priority is to leverage my International exposure and digital experience to enhance GroupM‘s vision. I would like to have each and every client to see a marked increase in the quality of work they receive from Xaxis and help them lead in their field.”
