  • Asianet Broadband to move into Tamil Nadu; launches superfast package in Kozhikode

    MUMBAI: Down south, Asianet Broadband a part of Asianet Satellite Communications has announced it is spreading its wings into Tamil Nadu. Asianet Broadband has 200,000 subscribers from residential areas SMEs and office in 56 and cities towns across God’s own country Kerala.

    It made this announcement last week, along with the introduction of a super fast broadband package.

    The new package called GIGA Fibre 200 it is being offered in Calicut and is being delivered over its brand new optical fibre network, it passing over 45,000 homes in the city at launch. The idea is to take it up to 100,000 homes across the city and outskirts in phases,the company says.

    Asainet Broadband has a total bandwidth capacity of more than 30 Gbps, which is the largest in the state of Kerala among the new generation private ISPs.

    The GIGA Fibre 200 package priced of Rs 999 a month at 200 MBPS speeds with a 200 GB limit. Asianet has a sweetener attached to the package: those paying three months advance rent in advance will get the wifi modem free.. The delivery of the broadband is being done using tate of the art DOCSIS & GPON technology.

    MUMBAI: Ortel Communications has appointed Jiji John as vice president of broadband business with effect from 1 June, 2015.

     

    John has more than 18 years of experience in strategic planning, sales, marketing and business development.

     

    Prior to joining Ortel, John was vice president at Asianet Broadband, which is a division of Asianet Satellite Communications.

     

    During his career, he has held various positions with telecom and ISP companies like Escotel Mobile Communications (currently Idea Cellular) and Sify Technologies amongst others.

    ErosNow launches movie streaming service with Asianet Broadband

    MUMBAI: Eros International Media’s online entertainment service ErosNow has joined hands with Kerala’s Internet Service Provider (ISP) Asianet Broadband to launch a movie streaming service called Broadband Movies.

     

    The streaming service will enable Asianet customers to watch high quality entertainment content including its south Indian repertoire of movies and music from the ErosNow platform on multiple smart devices. The subscription-based service will be available to all Asianet Broadband subscribers with a one month free subscription.

     

    Eros Digital CEO Rishika Lulla Singh said, “We are delighted to partner with Asianet Broadband and bring the best in movies to its large subscriber base in Kerala. Asianet’s large scale bandwidth and high speed will allow users to view unlimited entertainment from our wide catalogue.”
