EV91 revs up Delhi streets with electric fleet and gender-first last-mile delivery push

MUMBAI: Delhi just got a jolt of clean energy, with wheels that mean business. Ev91technologies, one of India’s fastest-scaling electric mobility startups, officially rolled out its flagship electric two-wheeler operations fleet in the capital on 23 June 2025, setting its sights on both sustainable transport and urban employment equity.

The new centre in Delhi-NCR comes equipped with tools for real-time diagnostics, battery testing, servicing, and spare part replacements. The facility aims to offer dependable post-sales support for the startup’s growing fleet of electric vehicles and their delivery partners.

“Delhi is a crucial market for the EV transition, and this new centre is designed to support our customers with fast, reliable, and professional service. Our aim is to not only provide exceptional vehicles but also ensure an effortless post-sales experience that builds long-term trust”, said Ev91technologies founder & CEO Arun Kumar.

The leadership team—including Manoj Kumar (COO), Lalith Kumar (CBO), and Umesh S K (CFO)—brings a unified vision of cleaner roads and wider access to electric mobility across India. Their strategy includes not just asset deployment but creating livelihoods powered by green tech.

Industry partners present at the launch included Vaibhav Sarda from Stride, Rishabh Deo from Gogoro, Jyotir Jain from BizDateUp, and Partha Pratim from MotoVolt—signalling strong cross-sector alignment in finance, mobility, and startup innovation.

In a bold social impact move, EV91 is partnering with Zepto, Big Basket, Flipkart Minutes, and Apollo to provide two-wheelers on a rental model to gig workers unable to afford their own vehicles. The result? A scalable solution that helps riders earn while pushing India’s EV transition forward.

Women riders are firmly in focus too. EV91 is already collaborating with Rapido Pink to promote women-led fleet operations. The company plans to scale up to over 5,000 vehicles in the coming months, with 1,000 earmarked for female riders.

“Our commitment remains clear — to create dignified, green, and scalable employment for underserved women across urban India”, said Kumar.

From buzz to business, EV91Technologies appears to be wiring its growth model not just with batteries and bytes, but with purpose. Delhi, clearly, is only the first stop.

Brandscope India launches new communication for Embassy Group

MUMBAI: Brandscope India – the outdoor arm of the Posterscope Group again hits another nail of innovation in the outdoor space in Bangalore for the launch of Embassy Group’s luxury property – Embassy Pristine, Bangalore one of the leading property developers of India. The objective of the campaign is to introduce the new property in an impactful and unique manner stating its USPs for a sustainable lifestyle.

Given the stated objective the Embassy’s creative agency Oysters Advertising devised this innovation to create a visual impact through a 3D effect of the elements highlighting the features of the property on the billboard. Brandscope then implemented this effectively. Four such innovations underlining 24 x 7 water supply by putting live buckets, solar energy by putting solar panels, rain water harvesting by sintex tanks, pollution free transportation by cycling  to work  elevated the connect with the target group.

Speaking about the campaign, Reeza Sebastian, Head – Residential Marketing, Embassy Group, said, “OOH has been a large part of our media mix and we have found the traditional Outdoor medium to be far more effective in communicating our message around residential projects. We wanted to particularly highlight the sustainability initiatives at our lake front project, Embassy Pristine in Bangalore and keeping this in mind, our agency Oysters Advertising has conceived a very innovative and clutter breaking campaign that has resonated well with new customers”.

Explaining the concept behind the campaign, Arun Kumar, Creative Director, Oysters Advertising, said,” “The idea  was to start a conversation and develop a social campaign that engaged our core audience While we have always endeavoured at Oysters to deliver out of the box solutions for Embassy, we sought to challenge the OOH box with the Embassy Pristine campaign. The objective of communicating the green initiatives and its real everyday benefits came to be distilled in the line “Green living gets real at Embassy Pristine” . The innovative concept developed by our team along with the strong support from Embassy Group and the flawless execution by Brandscope went a long way  in making the campaign a huge success.”

Addressing the innovation, Haresh Nayak, Managing Director, Posterscope Group commented, “While we are increasingly being surrounded by new age digital opportunities, this campaign suggests that innovative campaigns can be intelligently delivered on traditional outdoor properties when combined with the right operational expertise.”

Fabian Cowan, Vice President, Brandscope India added, “The essence of a good concept lies in its effective implementation. The client’s belief in our abilities to carry out this well thought out innovation was the key to this successful campaign and we consider it a privilege to be associated with Embassy Group.”

Police arrests journos, lets ‘gundas’ off the hook

MUMBAI: At a time when rival television channels will stop at nothing to pip each other at the ratings’ post, here comes a heart-warming instance of foes coming together for a just cause.

On 2 December, around 11.45pm, high drama unfolded outside the Maduravoyal police station in Chennai when over 200 media persons – including journalists and technicians from Captain TV (Tamil news channel) and its competitor channels, Sun TV and Pudhiya Thalamuria – gathered outside Maduravoyal police station to protest the attack on crew members of Captain TV by a group of people the same evening.

The ‘Raasta Roko’ took a turn for the worse when instead of registering a complaint against the attackers, the police officials ended up arresting the protesters, who were released yesterday morning.

Captain TV distribution manager Arun Kumar recalled the incident saying: “It all started when my crew was going to cover an event in the Anna Nagar West area and stopped at the nearby petrol pump to fill diesel around 7 in the morning. Thomson, a van driver, who came in later, picked up an argument with Suresh, driver of the bus transporting my crew, claiming that the latter had jumped queue and subsequently thrashed him.”

“Later in the evening, Thomson saw my crew members and he came in with a bunch of 20-30 people and beat them very hard.” There were eight crew members including two drivers, two cameramen, two camera-stunts and two reporters including a lady reporter named N Lavanya; according to Kumar.

Minutes after the thrashing, the crew members, along with some Captain TV employees, went to the Maduravoyal police station to file a case against these local gundas. However, the police station had a different agenda. “Police inspector Anand Babu refused to take the complaint. The reason being, the van driver who had beaten up the crew is the relative of a local politician from the ruling party. The entire police team is in their favour and not us. It’s simple: these local gundas bribe them and in return, the policemen protect them,” rues Kumar.

As word spread about the police officials’ apathy, an infuriated media, including journalists from Captain TV’s rival channels, Sun TV and Pudhiya Thalamuria, as well as print journalists and members of the press club joined the protest. Other media houses such as Kalaignar TV, Public Television, Telegraph, Television Polymer, Times Now Television, New York Times, CNN, The Hindu, The Times of India and journalists from various magazines joined the protest.

Notwithstanding all this fighting and protesting, the police officials arrested the entire group of protesters. “They arrested us – all 200 plus media people instead of arresting those local gundas. But today, the protest is going on in every district of Tamil Nadu,” says Kumar.

The arrested persons were taken and kept throughout the night in K.V.T Mahal in Koyambedu and community hall in Aminjikarai in Chennai.
At the time of writing this article, the policemen had still not filed any case against the attackers.

“They are not filing the case against the attackers, rather they are filing cases against my people. But, we have told them to charge for attempt to murder and until then, we won’t sign any FIR. We are firm on this,” says a determined Kumar.

Today, the news channel will be going to the commissioner to discuss the matter.

  • Tata Sky starts receiving Zee-Turner channels

Tata Sky starts receiving Zee-Turner channels

MUMBAI: It took a rap on the knuckles today by the sector tribunal, but finally, DTH service provider Tata Sky can now claim to have a “complete” channel offering. Zee-Turner this evening provided the signals for its channels after an order issued earlier in the day by the Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT).

“Now they (the Zee-Turner channels) are on,” Tata Sky MD & CEO Vikram Kaushik told Indiantelevision.com. “The channels were delayed by Zee-Turner and the tribunal directed them to provide the signals,” he added.

Coming down heavily on the distribution network, TDSAT chairman Justice Arun Kumar was quoted by Press trust of India news service as saying, “tricks would not work … at least I did not expect this from you … you are more interested in earning money rather than implementation of the order.”

During the proceedings Zee-Turner, a 74:26 joint venture between Zee Telefilms and Turner International India, a sister concern of Time Warner, contended that Tata Sky was yet to address issues “regarding territory and piracy” mentioned in their terms and condition, the PTI report said. In its response, Tata Sky accused Zee-Turner of unilaterally deciding the terms and conditions under which they would provide signals.

Zee Turrner had given an undertaking last Wednesday (20 September) to TDSAT that it would provide all the 32 channels in its bouquet at an interim pricing of Rs 75. Tata Sky is already offering 75 channels at an introductory price offer of Rs 200.

Zee Turner claims had then told Indiantelevision.com that it had got what it wanted. “We wanted our entire bundle of channels to be taken and at that price. This falls in line with the latest TDSAT directive,” Zee Turner CEO Arun Poddar had said.

The final hearing will be on 18 October where the issues of pricing, capacity and other related issues will be decided.

It may be recalled that Zee Turner was willing to provide all its channels at a price of Rs 75 while Tata Sky wanted to select the channels it wants at half the price of cable TV rates.
