    LIQVD Asia sets shop in Delhi; appoints Saurabh Gupta as biz head

    MUMBAI: Empirical multi-ethnic marketing company LIQVD Asia is setting up its office at Gurgaon in Delhi NCR. The company has appointed Saurabh Gupta as its business head.

     

    Gupta is entrusted with the responsibility to provide holistic digital solutions for all clients of LIQVD Asia in the region. Prior to this, he was in charge of the digital wing of Allied Media Corp.

     

    LIQVD Asia managing director Arnab Mitra said, “We’re thrilled to welcome Saurabh on board. Saurabh’s immense experience in the space and progressive approach to innovate aligns perfectly with our business plans. We are sure he is the right person for our commitments to our clients in the region.”

    Gupta’s expertise lies in digital media brand solutions, online and mobile gaming, VAS, digital activation and online publishing. He has previously worked in companies like Wipro, Lakshya Consulting, Games2win India, Zapak Digital Entertainment and Allied Media Corp.

  • Arnab Mitra quits Starcom to pursue own interests

    MUMBAI: Starcom MediaVest Group (SMG) national director- digital Arnab Mitra has decided to move on from the agency.

    Mitra will be serving his notice period at the agency till the end of December.

    Confirming this to Indiantelevision.com, Mitra said, “Yes, I have put in my papers. The journey at Starcom was very good. I have been handling the digital practice of the agency. We have won many digital businesses and I am glad that we could do so.”

    Mitra declined to disclose his next venture but hinted that he might do something of his own. He has already invested in a couple of businesses.

    He had joined SMG in June 2011 from MediaContacts, a Havas Digital Company, where he was regional director – South Asia. He has spent nearly a decade with leading digital companies including three years in London with Purple Media, a UK based agency, where he was instrumental in launching and implementing their affiliate network across Europe.

    Mitra has also worked with Ignitee and Pinstorm before moving to the Havas group.

  • SMG bags Sennheiser India’s digital biz

    MUMBAI: Starcom MediaVest Group has bagged the digital mandate of Sennheiser India, a German audio company.

    The incumbent agency on the account was OMD which handled the business from their Delhi office.

    The size of the account is estimated to be at around Rs 30-50 million.

    The agency will be handling the entire digital media duties and performance marketing for Sennheiser in India. The company is also rolling out an e-commerce shop soon.

    SMG Digital national director Arnab Mitra said, “Sennheiser has plans to establish digital as one of the primary mediums for the future in context to customer acquisition and satisfaction. SMG digital is all poised to play a great hand for the same. With their new e-shop being rolled out, Sennheiser will soon become one of prominent players in the category.”

    Arnab Mitra to head Digital at Starcom MediaVest Group India

    MUMBAI: Arnab Mitra has been appointed as the national director – Digital at Starcom MediaVest Group (SMG) India.

    Mitra will report to SMG India CEO Mallikarjunadas CR.

    Mitra takes charge today and will be based in Mumbai. He moves in from MediaContacts, a Havas Digital Company, where he was regional director – South Asia.

    Along with the branch heads of Starcom Worldwide and MediaVest Worldwide as well as the heads for Insights & Research and Business Impact functions, Mitra will be part of the National Leadership Team at SMG India.

    According to an official communique, “This appointment is in line with the vision to take Starcom MediaVest Group to the next level building it on the three pillars of research & insights, digital and content.”

    Mitra has spent nearly a decade with leading digital companies including three years in London with Purple Media, a UK based agency, where he was instrumental in launching and implementing their affiliate network across Europe.

    Mitra has also worked with Ignitee and Pinstorm before moving to the Havas group.

    Says Mallikarjunadas CR, “We were looking for someone with robust experience to head our Digital business. In Arnab we have found the right person who will drive our digital offering and lead the digital teams across the company. His international experience in one of the most evolved digital markets is going to be of great benefit to clients and teams within.”

    Arnab Mitra resigns from Media Contacts

    MUMBAI: Media Contacts India and South Asia regional director Arnab Mitra has quit the agency.

    Currently serving his notice period, May will be Mitra‘s last month at the agency.

    Mitra confirmed the news to Indiantelevision.com.

    With more than a decade‘s experience in digital media, Mitra joined Media Contacts, an interactive arm of Havas Digital – a division of Havas Media – in 2009 as India strategy head. In November 2010, he was promoted as regional director.

    Apart from India, Mitra was handling three other markets: Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

    Previously, Mitra was head of business development at Ignitee Digital. He has also worked with the UK-based agency Purple Media, Pinstorm and Indigo Consulting.

    In online communication experience Mitra as devised digital strategies for brands like Accenture, Jet Airways, Kingfisher Airlines, Barclays, AXIS Bank, Reliance, HSBC, TATA AIG, Asian paints, VW, Hugo Boss, HDFC, ICICI Prudential and Skoda.
