    Publicis Worldwide India hires Radhika Burman as VP – strategic planning

    NEW DELHI: Publicis Worldwide India has brought on Radhika Burman as vice president – strategic planning. She will be based out of New Delhi and will report into BBH-Publicis Worldwide India MD & chief strategy officer Sanjay Sharma.

    In her role, Burman will lead the strategy mandate for the New Delhi office, spearheading the strategic planning function for existing clients as well as driving growth through new business for the region. She will play a crucial role in the agency’s growth ambitions with an objective to deliver solutions driven by a well-rounded view on consumer insights that can be translated into powerful and actionable brand insights.

    Sharma said, “In today’s complex and fast changing world, our clients need strong strategic partnerships more than ever. Radhika is an exceptional strategic mind who has the experience, expertise and energy to partner our clients in providing the right solutions for today’s challenges.     Burman has over 11 years of experience both on the client side as well as across network agencies. In her last role, she was manager – strategy and consumer insights at Platinum Guild International and played a central role in the strategic planning process to build the platinum jewellery business for India by effectively analysing and translating consumer and trade research into insightful strategies. Prior to that, she has worked at FCB and JWT and was part of the strategic planning team that worked on brands such as Zee, PepsiCo, Hero, and Cargill among others.

    Mars Wrigley’s India biz elevates Varun Kandhari to director – marketing

    NEW DELHI: Multinational confectionery maker Mars Wrigley has elevated Varun Kandhari to the post of director – marketing and customer marketing for India. He has been with the organisation for seven years, is based in the Gurugram office and succeeds Yogesh Tewari.

    Kandhari joined Mars Chocolate Business in September 2014 as senior brand manager and was subsequently promoted to marketing manager – chocolates for Mars Wrigley business in October 2017.

    In his new role, he will be responsible for leading the marketing and customer marketing functions for Mars Wrigley India across all categories.

    Mars Wrigley- India general manager Kalpesh R Parmar said, “Through his tenure, Varun has played a crucial role in value creation and developing successful marketing strategies.     Ajay Dev Singh joins MyCaptain as VP – marketing & customer acquisition

    NEW DELHI: India-based online learning platform MyCaptain has onboarded Ajay Dev Singh as vice president of marketing and customer acquisition.

    Prior to MyCaptain, Singh was also the head of marketing and digital strategy at Basic First learning where he spearheaded a revenue of Rs 250 crores in 18 months, and then with Reliance as the vice president of media and entertainment. His hiring comes with the appointment of VPs in other departments as well.

    Wondrlab ropes in Jateen Kore as digital head

    MUMBAI: Martech start-up Wondrlab has appointed Jateen Kore as its digital head. He will be based in Mumbai and report to Wondrlab co-founder & managing partner – content platform Rakesh Hinduja.

    Kore joins from IDFC First Bank where he was the head – digital marketing. At Wondrlab, he has been tasked with setting up the digital practice and bringing forth the agency’s platform-first approach to help brands win on digital.

    “Jateen’s experience straddles the entire digital funnel; his key focus area is to apply a platform-first approach for our brands to win across social, performance marketing, influencer marketing, e-commerce and martech best practices.     Abhishek Chaturvedi joins Digitas India as SVP & head of planning

    NEW DELHI: Publicis Groupe’s global marketing and technology services brand Digitas has appointed Abhishek Chaturvedi as senior vice president and head of planning. He will report to Digitas India chief operating officer Sonia Khurana.

    Chaturvedi is a seasoned advertising professional who has more than 18 years of experience managing key strategy related positions across leading advertising agencies. At Digitas India, he will play a vital role in assisting brands and businesses to leverage the agency’s comprehensive data, technology, creative, media and strategy capabilities and proprietary planning processes and effectively drive strategic growth and direction for the agency.

    Previously, Chaturvedi was with McCann Worldgroup as vice president. He held a similar profile at Ogilvy and Grey Group where he led planning for some of the leading brands across categories including Dabur, Marico, GSK, Colgate Palmolive, Voltas, BMW, Eicher, Hero Motocorp, Mahindra B2C & B2B, Wal-Mart, Max Life and some government and non-profit organisations.

    Lenovo elevates Shailendra Katyal to lead India business

    NEW DELHI: Lenovo has elevated Shailendra Katyal to managing director of its PC and smart devices business group (PCSD) India and site leader for Lenovo Group in the country. The appointment comes into effect 1 May 2021.

    Katyal will take over from Rahul Agarwal, who has decided to move on after 20 years at the technology company.

    “I am confident in Shailendra’s success thanks to his extensive experience in Lenovo and in the industry. I would also like to thank Rahul for everything he has done to maximise Lenovo’s growth over the past two decades,” said Lenovo Asia Pacific president Amar Babu.

    Katyal is currently executive director at Lenovo India PC and smart devices group, leading the consumer business. He first joined Lenovo in 2011, and has held roles in marketing, consumer PC and tablets, home and small business, as well as e-commerce.

    Prior to joining Lenovo, he spent a decade building iconic FMCG brands.

    New Delhi : One Plus co-founder Carl Pei’s new consumer technology company Nothing has roped in former technology journalist Megha Vishwanath as public relations manager for its India operations.

    In her new role at Nothing, Vishwanath will lead communications and influencer engagement in the region, the company announced on Thursday.

    “I am thrilled to welcome Megha to the Nothing family as we build our team in India. With her background in journalism combined with a deep understanding of technology in India, she will play an integral part in driving our regional communications strategy,” said Nothing India vice-president & general manager Manu Sharma.

    The forward-thinking consumer tech brand was announced in January 2021 to lead the way for the launch of an ecosystem of smart devices that are uniquely designed, quality engineered and simple to use.

    A business journalist, Vishwanath has also worked as a television anchor and news producer. She joined Nothing from CNBC-TV18 India where she was the assistant editor and anchor. As the tech lead, she was also responsible for producing and anchoring some of the channel’s marquee shows like Tech Toyz, Startup Street and India’s longest running programme on entrepreneurship Young Turks.

    MUMBAI: Jack in the Box Worldwide (JITB) has reshuffled its core leadership team. Business director Harsh Shah has been elevated to VP – business and growth, while director – strategy Suruchi Shetty has been made VP – strategy and analytics.

    Dentsu India rejigs leadership, elevates Divya Karani & Kartik Iyer

    MUMBAI: Dentsu International has made key leadership changes in India as part of its global organisational redesign. Media Brands and Amplifi erstwhile president Kartik Iyer will now join the network’s market leadership team as its chief operating officer. He will continue to report into Anand Bhadkamkar and will be instrumental in driving the implementation of dentsu’s new business model within the country.

    Iyer will help navigate Dentsu’s global transformation program with a focus on collaborating with leaders and client teams across businesses in the market to change how the network works and inculcate the culture of operational excellence. He will engage with regional teams, global teams, and all other network brands to ensure that the ongoing transformation program and the new business model is efficiently adopted and effectively addresses local business requirements.

    The network has also appointed Dentsu X India CEO Divya Karani as the chief executive officer for media, south Asia. Here, media includes the agencies dentsu X, Carat, iProspect and Posterscope. She will continue to report into Anand Bhadkamkar. In this additional role, Karani will be responsible for driving the global media strategy and delivery in south Asia, ensuring its alignment and relevance to the market..

For the record, the agency recently witnessed the merger of Vizeum and iProspect into one to bring together the former’s media strategy and planning, storytelling, and brand-building capabilities with the latter’s digital expertise, audience knowledge, and performance mindset. Anita Kotwani will continue to lead the Carat brand for India.
