    MSL appoints Shashanka Nanda as vice president North & West of 20:20 MSL

    MUMBAI: MSL, Publicis Groupe’s exclusive strategic communications firm, Monday announced the appointment of Shashanka Nanda as vice president, north and west at 20:20 MSL, based in Delhi NCR. With over two decades of experience, Nanda brings deep knowledge of integrated communications, leading multi-stakeholder campaigns across verticals including technology, automotive, aviation, and infrastructure across public and private sectors. Prior to this appointment, he held the position of vice president and technology lead at Edelman, India.

A few clients that he has managed include organizations such as Microsoft, HP, TrendMicro, Oracle, Hitachi Data Systems, Airbus, GMR, Maruti Suzuki, the ministry of renewable energy, government of India, the government of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, and  the World Bank, among others.

    MUMBAI: DDB Mudra on Monday announced the appointment of Pallavi Chakravarti as the creative head of the West office. Her last stint was at Taproot Dentsu, where she led the creative function for the Mumbai office as executive creative director.

    In her new role, Chakravarti will work closely with DDB Mudra Group, CCO, Rahul Mathew to take on the responsibility of driving the agency’s creative product. “Over the last couple of years, we’ve been slowly gathering momentum as an organisation – number two at Effies, topping the new biz league, back-to-back Grand Prixs at Spikes Asia and our more recent performance at Kyoorius. And Pallavi is just the person to help us keep this momentum going and add more kick to it. She strengthens our belief and our ambition to do unexpected work that gets disproportionate results for our clients,” said Mathew.

    In a career spanning over 17 years, Chakravarti has been instrumental in building effective brand campaigns across categories. Her ability to craft compelling narratives is evident in her body of work on brands like Facebook, Airtel, Parle, Uber, Pepsi, Times of India among others, said the agency on Monday. Previously, she has worked with Saatchi & Saatchi, JWT and Grey.

    Pallavi has over a hundred awards to her credit. She has also served on the jury panels of creative festivals including Cannes Lions, Dubai Lynx, New York Festival, Global Awards, Gerety Awards etc.

    MUMBAI: FMCG brand Mamaearth has appointed Karan Bajwa as vice president, human resources for Honasa Consumer Pvt. Ltd.

    Bajwa has eight years of experience across talent functions like total rewards, business partnering and HR shared services in companies across telecom and FMCG.

    Mamaearth has grown exponentially over the past few years and is expanding at a rapid rate. Adding Bajwa to the team is part of their plans to identify and implement long-term strategic talent management goals, the company said on Thursday. Bajwa has years of experience at Airtel and Reckitt under his belt.

    Dinesh Nair appointed Director of Consumer Business for Lenovo India

    Mumbai: Chinese technology major Lenovo has appointed Dinesh Nair as the director of consumer business for the India region.

    Nair succeeds Shailendra Katyal, who was recently elevated as site leader for Lenovo India and managing director of Lenovo’s PC and Smart Device business in India.

    Nair has been associated with Lenovo India’s consumer business for over 11 years in various roles. Most recently, he was the sales and channel management lead for the company’s consumer segment in India.

    He has handled leadership responsibilities across offline general trade retail, distribution management, field sales, e-commerce, large format retail, and category management.

    “I am proud to hand over the reins of the consumer business to Dinesh. At the same time, this is a demonstration of our commitment to developing talent internally. I am sure he, along with the consumer leadership team, will propel the business to new heights,” said Lenovo India managing director Shailendra Katyal.

    Bhatia’s mandate is to increase the customer base, improve brand awareness and scale performance marketing to achieve growth.   

    In a career spanning 15 years, he has also worked with Droom, Times Internet and Interactive Avenues.

    NEW DELHI: Media agency Starcom has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of Niti Kumar as chief operating officer. She will be responsible for client deliverables, revenue growth, and new business development across the agency’s offices.

    Kumar will report to Starcom India CEO Rathi Gangappa, and will work closely with the senior leadership at Publicis Media to consolidate businesses and drive integrated solutions.

    During her 20 years in the media and marketing industry, she has dabbled in media planning, marketing, digital communications, and media investment management, and has worked across a variety of categories like publishing, FMCG, telecom, automobiles, garments, and BFSI.

    Gangappa said, “I believe that there is immense growth potential in the market today, especially considering the shifts we are likely to see in consumer and workplace habits in a post- pandemic era.     NEW DELHI: Hindustan Unilever (HUL) executive director foods and refreshment Sudhir Sitapati is moving on from the FMCG major. He will be replaced by Srinandan Sundaram, currently executive director – customer development. The appointment will be effective 1 July 2021.

    Sitapati is leaving the organisation to pursue an external opportunity.

    He joined HUL as a management trainee in 1999 and has successfully managed roles across sales and marketing. As executive director – foods and refreshment, he led the transformation of the brand’s Tea portfolio into a purpose-led category that regained market leadership and gained shares for the last three years.

    During his tenure, he also led the merger of Adityaa Milk and more recently, GSK Consumer Healthcare business into HUL, bringing iconic brands like Horlicks and Boost into the Unilever family. The Unilever Food Solutions business was also rewired and transformed into a growth engine.

    Sundaram joined HUL as a management trainee in 1999 and over the last 22 years, has had a strong track record in both customer development and marketing. In his current role, Srinandan has been at the forefront of bringing in leading-edge technology and transforming the company’s CD organisation into a high tech – high touch team. The Shikhar app, launched under his leadership, has lent a competitive edge to the business, especially during the pandemic and is the largest eb2b app in India today.

    Nykaa onboards Vikas Gupta as CEO – B2B Business

    MUMBAI: Flipkart’s head of customer, marketing and digital business Vikas Gupta has joined online beauty & personal care products marketplace Nykaa as CEO of its b2b business.

    The e-commerce portal posted the development on its LinkedIn page.

    “We are delighted to welcome on board, Vikas Gupta, the new CEO of our B2B business at Nykaa. Having held leadership roles for over two decades, Vikas is an expert at building business for digital-first enterprises that are data driven and fast-evolving. We are excited to have him on the team to drive a new wave of growth at Nykaa,” read the post.

    Gupta has over two decades of leadership experience at companies such as Unilever and more recently, Flipkart, where he was the head of customer and marketing function, the company said. 

    His work over the years has won him several recognitions including 14 effectiveness awards (Effies and AMEs), 27 innovation and creative awards (16 Cannes Lions) and 10 top Unilever awards.  

    Gupta shared the news of his appointment on LinkedIn saying, “Incredibly excited to start this new journey at Nykaa.     At Nykaa, Gupta will be setting up the e-distribution arm that aims to become the one-stop shop for retailers across the country to source beauty and personal care products, the company said.

    L’Oréal elevates Asmita Dubey as group chief digital officer

    NEW DELHI: Beauty brand L’Oréal has elevated Asmita Dubey as chief digital officer and member of the group’s executive committee. Dubey succeeds Lubomira Rochet, who is moving on from the global cosmetics giant.

    Dubey was chief media officer for the group and chief digital officer for L’Oréal’s consumer products division. She is entrusted with the responsibility of driving the second phase of the brand’s digital transformation.

    With a background in both statistics and economics, Dubey started her career in the Indian advertising industry. Later in China, she activated campaigns for some of the world’s biggest FMCG companies. As part of the group, she laid the foundations for L’Oréal’s e-commerce acceleration in China. She built L’Oréal’s first joint-business partnerships with Alibaba and Tencent and established a broader start-up ecosystem. As chief marketing officer for China and Asia Pacific for L’Oréal, she strengthened L’Oréal’s digital footprint in the region.

    MUMBAI: Integrated marketing agency Gozoop has onboarded Sushil Anantharaman as media director. Previously, he was associated with Hansa Cequity as the associate director.

    With over 10 years of experience in the digital media workforce, Anantharaman has a detailed understanding of media planning and buying. He has also worked with agencies like Madison, PHD, Maxus, Carat in the past.

    Anantharaman will report to Gozoop CEO & co-founder Ahmed Aftab Naqvi. He will be responsible for media strategies for mandates like EuroSchool, GNC, Ace Blend, Bisleri, 3M, Times Interact & Tata Steel, the agency said in a press statement.
