    SUGAR Cosmetics onboards Suchit Sikaria as chief business officer

    Mumbai: Beauty brand SUGAR Cosmetics has announced the appointment of Suchit Sikaria, former managing partner of Performics India, as the chief business officer to lead and handle the core direct to consumer division. With this strategic move, the brand aims to double-down on its aggressive past performance of building one of India’s fastest-growing brands in the D2C consumer space, it said in a statement.
     

    An MBA from IIM – Ahmedabad, Sikaria brings more than 14 years of leadership experience in sales, marketing, and business operations with stints at Performics India and Nokia India. He also brings an additional four years of start-up experience from his own entrepreneurial venture.

    Mumbai: 9X Media has announced the appointment of Priyanka Sinha Jha as senior vice president & head of its subsidiary SpotboyE, an entertainment news portal. She will lead and mentor the editorial team and be responsible for the growth and monetisation of the portal, build alliances and partnerships across digital, print, and television platforms, it said in a statement.

    Priyanka, who is a senior media strategist and journalist, brings more than two decades of experience in creating and executing editorial strategy, content creation & curation, and striking alliances & partnerships across multiple platforms. Prior to joining 9X Media, she has worked in key positions in varied media ecosystems – from Screen, Hotstar, Star India, and Network18 to The Indian Express, Hindustan Times, and Magna Publications.

    Hero MotoCorp names Ranjivjit Singh as chief marketing officer

    Mumbai: Hero MotoCorp has named Ranjivjit Singh as the new chief marketing officer, according to ETAuto report. He will be succeeding the current CMO Gurinder Sandhu who has tendered his resignation recently.

    Ranjivjit is the former SVP, chief marketing officer of Samsung India who had worked with the Korean consumer electronics for a little over six-year until his exit in 2020. Since then he has been running a marketing consultancy firm, his LinkedIn profile mentions.

    Ranjivjit Singh has an illustrious career of over three decades with senior-level positions at brands like Hindustan Lever, Ericsson Communications, Microsoft India, and HP India.

    India Today Group appoints Khyati Shah as AVP marketing & alliances, TV

    Mumbai: India Today Group has announced the appointment of Khyati Shah as assistant vice president – marketing and alliances, TV.  She will be based at the Noida office and report to India Today Group’s chief marketing officer Vivek Malhotra, it said in a statement.

    Khyati joins the group from Star India Network, where she was the AVP for marketing & content for Star Utsav. Her previous stints include Dainik Bhaskar Group, International Flavours & Fragrances, ICICI Prudential, Ogilvy & Mather, Grey Worldwide, Triton Communications, and Publicis.

    She brings with her more than 17 years of experience in brand management, digital marketing, content marketing, advertising, campaign management and brand solutions.

    She is a post-graduate in advertising and PR from Welingkar institute and, additionally, in digital business strategy. Khyati is a bachelor of commerce from Mumbai University.

    Fullerton India appoints Meehiir Desai as head of marketing

    Mumbai: Fullerton India, an investment and credit company (NBFC-ICC), on Friday announced the appointment of Meehiir Desai as its head of marketing. Desai will lead the marketing and corporate communications functions of the organization and will be reporting to Fullerton India’s chief business officer Ajay Pareek, the company said.

    Desai has over 16 years of extensive experience in brand management, media outreach (digital and offline), and corporate communications. He served in companies across different domains such Fino Payments Bank, Sony Pictures Networks, Times Global Broadcasting Company, Network 18, and HDFC Bank. He resumes his corporate journey after a brief entrepreneurial stint.

    GroupM India appoints Karthik Shankar as head of digital trading

    Mumbai: GroupM India, WPP’s media investment group, has announced the appointment of Karthik Shankar as head of digital trading. He will be responsible for digital trading and partnerships for the company and will report to GroupM India’s investments & pricing president Sidharth Parashar, the company said.

    Karthik comes with vast experience in building businesses using digital advertising technologies. He has worked with video technology start-ups and set up business units for programmatic & connected TV platforms.

    Sidharth Parashar said, “Karthik has a proven track record of managing tech & media partnerships, digital trading, e-commerce, and leading brand safety initiatives. We believe that Karthik would play a pivotal role, as we partner with our esteemed clients in their digital transformation journey,”

    The Hershey Company appoints Geetika Mehta as MD, India

    Mumbai: North America-based global snacking company and chocolate maker, The Hershey Company, announced the appointment of Geetika Mehta, as managing director, India effective from 1 July. India continues to remain a key focus market for Hershey International and the organization is committed to talent development and building leadership. Geetika’s appointment will further strengthen the leadership at Hershey India, the company said in a statement.

    Geetika will be reporting to The Hershey Company India VP and AEMEA Herjit Bhalla, who was recently elevated to a global role. Herjit reports directly to Hershey International president Rohit Grover.

    In her most recent role, she served at Hindustan Unilever as general manager for its home and hygiene business. With various leadership roles in FMCG and food businesses, Geetika brings over 18 years of experience across commercial and consumer marketing.

  • Kantar brings in Chris Jansen as group CEO

    MUMBAI: Data and media company Kantar has announced the appointment of Chris Jansen as group chief executive officer, effective 1 November. He is currently CEO at Cognita, a global schools group.

    Jansen joins Kantar with more than 20 years of leadership experience in the services sector, ranging from brand building to service delivery transformation, alongside a background in classic FMCG marketing, and an established track record of managing private equity-owned businesses.

    Welcoming Jansen on board, Kantar chairman Adam Crozier said, “Chris’ track record of building great companies, as well as his entrepreneurial and competitive spirit, further strengthens the leadership team we have been building over the past 18 months. Chris is a highly people-centric leader who understands the importance a strong culture plays in delivering outstanding results.     Jansen has previously served in various leadership roles, and board positions at both British Gas and British Airways. He led the Automobile Association (AA) to a stock market flotation in 2014.

  • Dentsu International announces Merlee Jayme as CCO-APAC

    MUMBAI: Dentsu International on Thursday announced the appointment of Merlee Jayme as the chief creative officer, Asia Pacific (APAC), with immediate effect. She will be responsible for creative excellence across dentsu’s creative and experience agencies in the region. These agencies include Isobar, dentsumcgarrybowen, and creative agencies under the house of dentsu, such as dentsu One, Dentsu Webchutney, and Taproot Dentsu.

    Jayme will report to dentsu global CEO-creative, Jean Lin and dentsu Asia Pacific CEO Ashish Bhasin. Merlee will continue as part of the core team in the global creative experience council at dentsu and sponsor of the region’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity (DEI) programme.

    MUMBAI: The media and ad agency BBDO India has announced the appointment of Krishna Mani as the chief creative officer (CCO) for their Delhi office. Mani has previously worked with Dentsu and Ogilvy.  

    Krishna brings with him a rich background in advertising, having nearly two decades of brand work that involves many accolades including Cannes Lions nominations at Ogilvy Delhi, and a brief stint at Dentsu.
