    Zolo onboards Rishi Sharma as chief marketing officer

    Mumbai: Homegrown co-living brand Zolo has appointed Rishi Sharma as a chief marketing officer.

    In his new role he will be responsible for strengthening the brand’s external and internal communication along with developing an overarching strategy for new vertical launches, the brand said.
    Sharma comes with over 20 years of experience in marketing. Prior to joining Zolo, Sharma was working with companies like Aditya Birla Group, Liva, and Kara. His previous stints also include Samsung India Electronics and advertising agencies like McCann, Publicis, Euro RSCG (HAVAS) as a planner.

    Welcoming Sharma on board, Zolo’s CEO & co-founder, Dr Nikhil Sikri said, “Rishi brings in new ideas and industry insights that will add to our existing strength. He will focus his attention on the Zolo-ite community, consumer journey, and expanding our customer base. With innovative ideas rooted in experience, he will lead the marketing communication team towards setting a new bar in the industry.”

    Rediffusion onboards Tathagat Jena as branch head, Delhi

    Mumbai: Ad agency Rediffusion has announced the appointment of Tathagat Jena as the head of its Delhi branch. Jena moves from the Chinese smartphone company Transsion as CMO of Infinix mobiles.

    Jena comes with over two decades of experience in brand management. He was previously associated with Samsung India where he led the marketing team for the smartphone division for nine years. Prior to that, he worked in executive roles with ad agencies like Lowe Lintas, Ogilvy & Leo Burnett, and retail brand Lladro.

    “At a time when clients are increasingly seeking ‘marketing partnerships’ from their communication agencies, Rediffusion aims to offer the complete suite of digital-first solutions & demonstrate capabilities beyond just communications,” Jena said. “Along the way, I hope to have some fun co-creating success stories that Rediffusion is famous for.”

    Welcoming Jena on board, Rediffusion’s joint president Navonil Chatterjee said, “In Tatha we have a good combo of a good agency man and a matured client hand, especially one who has worked in a highly competitive category like mobile handsets.     Metro Brands brings on board Nissan Joseph as CEO

    Mumbai: Homegrown fashion footwear retailer Metro Brands has announced the appoinment of Nissan Joseph as its chief executive officer, effective 1 July.

    The company will continue to be helmed by its founding members, managing director Farah Malik Bhanji, and chairman Rafique A. Malik, it said in a statement on Friday.

    Prior to joining Metro Brands, Joseph was associated with Philippines-based MAP Active & Planet Sports Inc, a lifestyle retailer in Southeast Asia, where he was the CEO since March 2020. During his 18 year-long experience in retail and brand management, he has held key roles for five years at Crocs, for which Metro Brands operates retail stores in India. He has also worked with Payless Shoes Pty Ltd and Hickory Brands, Inc.

    As of March 31, 2021, Metro Brands Ltd’s pan India network comprises 586 stores in over 130 cities with brands like Metro Shoes, Mochi, Walkway, and Crocs under its banner.

    GroupM India elevates Atique Kazi to president – data, performance and digital products

    Mumbai: GroupM India, WPP’s media investment group, Friday elevated Atique Kazi to president – Data, Performance and Digital Products, with effect from 2 August. 

    Kazi will be based out of the agency’s Mumbai office and report to GroupM South Asia CEO Prasanth Kumar and Xaxis APAC CEO Arshan Saha. He will also be joining the conglomerate’s executive committee, the company said in a statement.

    Kazi has been a part of the GroupM family since 2013. He was integral in launching Xaxis in India before moving to Singapore to take over a regional role. He established the agency’s AI-enabled influencer marketing solution, INCA across 10 key markets.

    In his new role, Atique will continue to build on the brand’s best practices and technologies across the fields of data analytics, deep learning, process mining, performance marketing and business intelligence to create efficient, fast, and scalable value-added processes, it further said.

    Welcoming Kazi on board, Prasanth Kumar said, “At GroupM our focus is to continue evolving by offering flexible, scalable and innovative solutions.     Mumbai: In announcement of two key appointments, marketing solutions agency Schbang on Friday introduced Amisha Gulati as vice president – integrated solutions, and Sharmeen Indorewala as head of new business, especially for its technology transformation service.  

    Gulati was previously associated with Zee5 as the marketing manager. At Schbang, she will report to co-founder and CEO Akshay Gurnani. She comes with ten years of industry experience with stints at organisations such as The Glitch, Spark Eighteen Lifestyle, and Vyas Gianetti Creative.

    Gulati said, “Schbang has done a fantastic job in the short six years and I am very excited to be part of its trailblazing journey. Work doesn’t feel like work when you are living your passion.     Indorewala will report to Schbang’s co-founder and chief technology officer Sohil Karia. She joins from Proof Analytics (a Schbang partnership) where she was the head of business. Prior to that, she was also the founder and CEO at The Parfait Co. At Schbang, she will responsible for growth strategy and new business development for the technology vertical.  

    Indorewala said, “My prior business experience working with startups like The Parfait Co. and Proof Analytics has enabled me to work towards the company goal of building out the technology transformation division while showcasing our deep research and consultancy capabilities, our consumer-centricity focused skills, with a keen eye on brand meditation as well as our established and rapidly growing tech department under Sohil’s leadership.”

    MUMBAI: Homegrown savings app magicpin has appointed Pranay Gupta as the new vice president of growth and business development. His appointment comes on the heels of other key strategic additions to the leadership team of magicpin. 

    Gupta will be responsible for building ecosystem partnerships for driving magicpin’s growth, the company said in a statement. 

    Gupta was the co-founder of 91 Springboard and is well-networked in the technology ecosystem. A graduate of IIM Ahmedabad and IIT-Delhi, he has decades of experience as an entrepreneur and investor.

    The Coca-Cola Company names Aditi Anand as head of creative strategy

    Mumbai: The Coca-Cola Company has appointed Aditi Anand as the head of creative strategy for brand Coca-Cola for India and South-West Asia.

    Before joining Coca-Cola, Aditi was HMD Global’s head – brand, media, and digital marketing where she was at the helm of brand and media strategy for Nokia mobiles in India.

    Aditi brings with her 14 years of industry experience in large-scale global and Indian brands like Flipkart, Bharti Airtel, and Micromax Informatics. She has led teams across multiple marketing sub-functions like brand strategy & media, digital content & experiences, consumer insights, retail, eCommerce, and marketing analytics.

    Mumbai: Airtel Business, the B2B unit of Bharti Airtel, announced the appointment of Harish Laddha as chief executive officer for emerging business. He will report to Ajay Chitkara, director and CEO – Airtel Business, the company said in a statement.

    Laddha will be responsible for identifying and leveraging growth opportunities in emerging categories such as the small and medium business (SMB) segment. He will lead a dedicated team to bring to market highly differentiated offerings for these emerging segments, it added.

    Welcoming Laddha on board, Chitakara said, “As the Indian economy evolves over the next decade, the SMB segment, in particular, offers a massive opportunity to enable the digital transformation of tens of millions of traditional businesses.     Mumbai: Hansa Research on Monday announced the appointment of Ashish Karnad as executive vice president and head -media and digital business. In his most recent role at Nielsen Media, he was in charge of IRS, the print currency in India.

    Karnad brings over 25 years of experience in media research. His key expertise lies in Media and ROI measurement.
