    OMG appoints Bharat Khatri as chief digital officer, APAC

    Mumbai: Omnicom Media Group (OMG) has brought on board Bharat Khatri as chief digital officer for its operations across APAC. Khatri will be based in India and report to OMG APAC, chief investment officer, Paul Shepherd.

    In his new role, Khatri will oversee leading digital marketing operations, productisation, commercials, and governance efforts for the network in the region. He will partner with OMG leaders in APAC to accelerate the adoption of integrated digital strategy, with a focus on leveraging technology to drive efficiency and creativity at scale across digital channels, said the company in a statement.

    “Bharat has a stellar track record and his astute business acumen in identifying and converting digital marketing opportunities into unique creative solutions will help unlock value for our clients in this region,” said Shepherd. “Combined with his experience in driving actionable, measurable, and revenue-generating business outcomes, I couldn’t be more excited having him on the team.”

    A strategic digital marketer with more than a decade of experience across digital and sales domains, Khatri was previously with Xaxis India as country head, where he oversaw the agency’s programmatic desk and collaborated with over 150 active advertisers across multiple industries.

    Specsmakers names industry veteran S Shriram as VP, sales & marketing

    Mumbai: Optical retailer Specsmakers has announced the appointment of S Shriram as vice president – sales & marketing with a deep focus on the upcoming business prospects. In his new role, Shriram will oversee store operations, business expansion and handle strategic marketing.

    The company said it is expanding aggressively through a mix of company-owned as well as franchised stores and plans to have 300 operational stores by the end of FY 21-22 and subsequently reach 1,000 stores by 2025. “The new stores for the current year will come up in existing markets of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka & Andhra Pradesh while rest of South India will be targeted in the next financial year,” it added.

    A veteran of more than 24 years in the retail industry, Shriram has worked with companies like RPG Group, The Future Group, Café Coffee Day, and Royal Enfield (Eicher Motors). In 2006, he joined India’s first private greenfield airport at Bangalore (BIAL) where he was solely responsible for designing, conceptualizing, and operationalising the entire retail & commercial areas. In his most recent role at Levista Coffee, Shriram managed to grow its retail presence from 26,000 to 79,000 stores pan-India.

    Genero onboards Subbaraju Alluri as MD for Asia

    Mumbai: Global creative platform Genero has announced the appointment of Subbaraju Alluri as managing director (MD) – Asia, based in Singapore.

    Alluri joins Genero less than a year after joining communications firm Redhill Communications after spending more than 19 years with Grey Group.

    According to Genero, Alluri will work closely with CEO and co-founder Andrew Lane, and the existing team in Asia to drive growth across the region. He is tasked with building on the momentum that the business has seen since the pandemic began, with “greater pressure on marketing budgets and an increasing number of in-house teams looking to augment their marketing services structures with creative tech platforms,” said the company.

    “He brings incredible experience from his years at Grey working with some of the world’s biggest advertisers, as well as a deep understanding of the industry and clients across Asia. We know that Raju’s experience will add great value to the Genero solution and for our clients,” Lane said.

    As a Grey veteran, Alluri previously held a number of roles across the agency, including president director and CEO in Indonesia, CEO of Singapore and Thailand, and group CEO of Indonesia and Thailand.

    P&G appoints Shailesh Jejurikar as global chief operating officer

    Mumbai: Global consumer products major, The Procter & Gamble Company (P&G) has announced the appointment of Shailesh Jejurikar as the global chief operating officer (COO), with effect from 1 October. This is in line with the change at the CEO level with Jon Moeller taking over from David Taylor.

    Currently, Jejurikar is the chief executive officer (CEO) of P&G’s largest business sector, fabric & home care.

    In his new role, Jejurikar will have profit/loss responsibility for P&G’s enterprise markets (Latin America, India, Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia and Eastern Europe). He will also lead IT, global business services, sales, market operations, new business, purchasing, manufacturing, and distribution efforts for the company.

    Jejurikar joined P&G in 1989 as an assistant brand manager for personal health care in India. He has since risen through the ranks and worked across many roles within the company.

    P&G said in a statement, “Shailesh’s extensive P&G career has spanned multiple businesses (health & beauty care, home care, fabric care and P&G professional) in both developed and developing regions (North America, Europe, Asia, and Africa).     Mumbai: Digital payments and banking technology company Cashfree has announced the appointment of Vikas Guru as its chief financial officer, to fuel the next phase of its growth.

    Guru will be responsible for bringing a new level of insight, requisite experience, and strategy to drive the change and build an agile finance function at Cashfree. He will oversee operations, reporting, governance, investor relationships, and management information system. He will also play an active business partnering role within the leadership team to ensure both top and bottom-line targets are met and continuously exceeded, the company said in a statement.

    Mumbai: HCL Technologies has announced the appointment of Jill Kouri as its global chief marketing officer (CMO).

    In her new role, Kouri will lead the company’s global marketing programmes to advance HCL’s focus on helping companies reimagine their business for the digital age.

    Stellantis announces new brand heads for Citroën & Jeep in India

    Mumbai: After the announcement of Roland Bouchara as CEO & managing director for Stellantis in India earlier in April, the automaker giant on Thursday announced key leadership appointments for its operations in India. Saurabh Vatsa and Nipun J Mahajan will now be responsible for its Citroën brand and Jeep Brand in India, respectively. 

    Vatsa and Mahajan will report directly to Roland Bouchara and the newly integrated organisation structure is already effective from 7 June, said the company in a statement.

    Vatsa who is an industry veteran with over 25 years of experience, had joined PSA in 2018 as senior director – marketing & corporate communications. He has been instrumental in devising and implementing the unique strategy for the launch of Citroën brand and C5 Aircross SUV in India. In his new role, Vatsa will be responsible for sales, marketing, aftersales, product planning & PR functions for Citroën in India.

    For the Jeep brand, Mahajan will be responsible for sales, marketing, aftersales, product planning & PR functions in India. He has over 25 years of experience in the automotive industry and has been with the Jeep brand for five years in the position of vice president, sales operations, and network development. Mahajan has been instrumental in launching the Jeep brand in India and achieving the 50,000 sales milestone for the Jeep Compass.
