    Infectious Advertising appoints Vinu V Krishna as creative head

    Mumbai: Infectious Advertising, an integrated independent agency, on Wednesday announced the appointment of Vinu V Krishna as creative head with immediate effect. Krishna was previously associated with Nichemind as creative director.

    Krishna comes with over 15 years of experience as a copywriter having worked extensively on print and digital for brands like The Week, Federal Bank, Google, Yahoo!, Manorama Group, and GMR. He has worked with leading ad agencies like JWT, DDB, and 1pointsize. He has won major awards at AdStars and Big Bang Awards – Bangalore Advertising Club.

    “The hiring of Vinu would easily be one of the most long-drawn recruitments in the history of advertising,” Infectious Advertising, director & co-founders, Nisha Singhania and Ramanuj Shastry said in a joint statement. “We interviewed him in a pub in Bangalore in 2018 and told him we liked him, and he joined Infectious in 2021! But as they say – it’s better late than never. It took a pandemic and WFH to finally get a top Bangalore writer to join us.”

    Vedantu appoints Maninder Bali as head of brand marketing

    Mumbai: Homegrown online learning platform Vedantu on Tuesday announced the appointment of Maninder Bali as head of brand marketing. Based in Bangalore, Bali will report to Vedantu’s chief operating officer, Arvind Singhal.

    In his new role, Bali will further build the brand and bring alive the Vedantu experience at every touchpoint. He will navigate the brand marketing playbook and drive impact at scale for Vedantu, said the press statement.

    Bali is an industry veteran who has 16 years of experience having worked with prominent advertising companies across India and Singapore, including Leo Burnett, Publicis Singapore, BBH, and Open Strategy and Design.

    Welcoming Bali on board, Arvind Singhal said, “His versatile experience will enhance our student-centric approach and strengthen our relationships with our stakeholders, allowing us to deliver excellence across all platforms.     Netflix India onboards Srivats TS as VP, marketing

    Mumbai: Netflix India has brought on board Srivats TS as vice president, marketing. He will lead the marketing team in India and report to Netflix vice president, APAC marketing, Barry Smyth.

    Prior to Netflix, Srivats was associated with food delivery platform Swiggy as senior vice president, marketing and consumer experience. He holds strong experience in building brands and businesses across traditional and new-age consumer technology companies.

    Commenting on the new appointment, Smyth said, “Srivats is an original thinker and an incredible marketer. As we bring more great stories from India, he will lead marketing to drive conversations and form deeper connections with consumers.”
    Srivats started his career with Nokia, where he worked for close to nine years in roles across brand marketing, consumer insights, and key account management. He then joined Swiggy in 2016 as head of marketing. Prior to that, Srivats led digital brand marketing at Quikr.

    ShareChat appoints Akshat Sahu as director of marketing

    Mumbai: Homegrown social media platform ShareChat has brought on board Akshat Sahu as director of marketing. He will report to Moj and ShareChat chief commercial officer Ajit Varghese.

    Sahu will be at the helm of all the marketing efforts and drive the platform towards a more accelerated growth among the user community and build top-of-the-mind recall in the branding and advertising community, the platform said in a statement on Monday.

    Prior to ShareChat, Sahu was heading marketing for emerging sports at Star Sports. He led the marketing strategy for diverse Indian sports, including football, kabaddi, hockey, and badminton. He also led the entire marketing and strategy of Channel [V] India in his earlier role at Star India.  

    Commenting on the new appointment, Ajit Varghese said, “Akshat brings in a strong set of skills and his expertise in branding and marketing will add a lot of value to our team.     Mumbai: Baby & mother care brand Mother Sparsh has announced the appointment of Himanshu Chandel as head of marketing and growth. The on-boarding of Chandel is aligned with the brand’s vision to achieve a landmark feat in the D2C space by clocking 10 times growth in the website sales, it said on Monday.

    In his new role, Chandel would spearhead the brand’s overall marketing & growth strategy along with analytics to focus on product innovation.

    Mathews is an industry professional armed with over 25 years of experience in corporate communications. He specialises in high growth, people-centric multinational environments.

    Prior to joining Kaizzen, Mathews worked as an independent consultant for eight years. Previously, he served at Vox Public Relations as managing director, where he oversaw the firm’s operations across India for over three years.

    Mumbai: Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL) has appointed Gaurav Kanwal as chief revenue officer, digital and small and medium businesses (SMB), South Asia.

    Kanwal was last associated with Disney+ Hotstar as executive vice president, ad sales for two and a half years. He was at the helm of identifying new avenues to drive revenue in a profit and loss management capacity for the company.

    Kanwar commands over 17 years of multi-industry and multi-channel experience in sales, marketing, online business as a strategist and manager. He specialises in distribution channels, marketing strategy, sales processes, SMB & mid-market, GTM plan, management, emerging markets, P&L ownership, people management.

    Prior to Disney+ Hotstar, Kanwal has had stints with Adobe as head of SMB and channel sales (South Asia), Symantec Corporation as country sales manager for India and SAARC, International SOS Services as marketing and communications manager for India, Corning International, and Feedback Ventures.

    Mumbai: Supply chain and logistics management platform Shipsy has brought on board Mohamed Reza as vice president – head of marketing. This development comes when the company is rolling out aggressive expansion plans and strengthening its foothold in the global supply chain and logistics market.

    In his new role, Reza will be responsible for the marketing function with an extended focus on building Shipsy’s presence in newer regions, primarily the Middle East, which holds the company’s RHQ and eventually to other geographies, said the statement.
    Reza was previously associated with MetricStream for ten years, where he headed essential portfolios of the director of strategic initiatives and the head of marketing for Europe. He also worked with Microsoft for more than four years.

    Mumbai: Hindi GEC, The Q on Tuesday announced the appointment of Pankaj Rai as head of ad sales for North and East regions, effective immediately. He will be based out of the company’s New Delhi office.

    In his new role, Rai will be responsible for driving the advertising sales for the channel in the respective regions and report directly to CEO, Simran Hoon, said the company in a statement.

    Rai is a seasoned media professional armed with over 15 years of expansive industry experience. Prior to joining The Q, he was associated with Zee Network, Mid-Day, and Shaadi Dot Com in various capacities. He has handled key accounts for linear TV channels including Zee TV, Zee Cinema, &TV among others. With hands-on media sales experience across TV, print, and digital, he has successfully contributed to top-level revenues. Rai also has a deep understanding of traditional and new media functioning.
