    PharmEasy parent API Holdings appoints five independent directors

    Mumbai: API Holdings Ltd, the parent company of digital healthcare brand PharmEasy, on Monday announced the appointment of five independent directors to its board, in line with the highest standard of corporate governance.  

    The new appointments bring a great amount of cognitive diversity to the board, with luminaries from the world of public service, technology, pharma, medical fraternity, and the consumer sector, the company said in a statement.

    The five new independent directors are: Former revenue secretary Vineeta Rai, Titan Company Ltd retired CFO Subramanian Somasundaram, Livspace founder and COO Ramakant Sharma, Federation of Obstetric and Gynaecological Societies of India secretary general Jaydeep Tank and private equity veteran Deepak Vaidya.

    Mumbai: D2C pet care company Heads Up For Tails (HUFT) has announced the appointment of Swati Mohan as chief business officer (CBO).

    Mohan brings with her rich experience of over two decades across media & entertainment, tech and advertising. At HUFT, she will be responsible for scaling growth for the company across levers of brand & marketing, tech advancements, growth partnerships and product innovation, said the statement.

    “Mohan is a seasoned professional with a two-decade-long track record as a proven leader and has driven profitable growth in large, multi-channel consumer businesses. She brings significant experience in growing brands, improving operating performance and customer experience and delivering results,” said HUFT founder Rashi Sanon. “Under her leadership, we aim at building a stronger tech platform for all the needs of pets at every stage of their life.”

    In her most recent role, Mohan was with Netflix as head of marketing and was part of the core leadership team in the first three years of operation of the streaming platform in India. Prior to Netflix, she was associated with National Geographic and Fox Networks Group as country head for over six years. Her previous stints include companies including Group M, O&M, FBC Media, and Endemol.

    An award-winning leader, Mohan has many accolades to her name such as The Economic Times 40 under Forty (2019), CMO for Growth (2020), and Impact Women to watch out for (2018).

    Dhirendra Yashwant appointed as Sun Marathi head of marketing

    Mumbai: Sun TV Network has appointed Dhirendra Yashwant as head of marketing for its newly launched general entertainment channel (GEC) Sun Marathi.

    Sun TV Network is one of India’s largest broadcasters and has a massive viewership in the South. It recently forayed into Marathi GEC space with the launch of the free-to-air channel Sun Marathi.

    Yashwant was previously associated with Shemaroo Entertainment as DGM – marketing for two and a half years. During his 13 years in the TV industry, he has been associated with Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL), and Times Network.

    He has experience launching new channels including the launch of Marathi film channel Shemaroo MarathiBana and Hindi GEC Shemaroo TV in his previous assignment. Shemaroo MarathiBana crossed the 100 GRPs mark in the fifth month of operations, which set a milestone in Marathi television. He also has experience working on the Marathi channels Zee Marathi and Zee Talkies during his stint at ZEEL.

    His expertise lies in managing TV brands across various genres including GEC, films, music, business and general news and across multiple languages including English, Hindi, and Marathi. His media experience includes working on TV, OTT, print, films, and radio.

    He is an alumnus of Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies.

    IAMCR onboards Surbhi Dahiya as new faculty ambassador

    Mumbai: The International Association for Media and Communication Research (IAMCR) has appointed Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) English journalism course director Surbhi Dahiya as new faculty ambassador for a duration of three years. IAMCR is a worldwide professional organisation in the field of media and communication research.

    With this latest appointment, IAMCR now has three faculty ambassadors in India with Dahiya joining the ranks at the organisation alongside the existing ambassadors Uma Shankar Pandey and Padmakumar K.

    In her role as faculty ambassador, Dahiya will organise various events with university departments, local and regional media, communication research bodies and think tanks, and NGOs involved in media advocacy and research and encourage Indian scholars to have visibility in International conferences.

    Dahiya was the SUSI scholar from India and completed the study of the United States Institute Programme organised by the United States, Department of State, conducted at the Ohio University in 2017. She was elected as liaison chair for Academia and Industry by the newly formed South Asian Communication Association (SACA). She was the convenor of World Journalism Education Council (WJEC)- IIMC- UNESCO Roundtable in India held in August beside representing India on a number of platforms.

    She was also conferred the Women Economic Forum (WEF) award 2019 for ‘Iconic Woman’ as ‘Exceptional Leaders of Excellence’. She won the National Award by Public Relation Society of India (PRSI) for contribution to mass communication education in India and the Lifestyle Journalistic TLJ Jury Award for Excellence in the field of journalism education in 2019.

    ProfitWheel brings in Aman Khanna as co-founder

    Mumbai: The SaaS startup ProfitWheel has launched its US operations and has brought in Aman Khanna as co-founder. He joins the company after a seven-year stint and will work closely with ProfitWheel co-founder Vivek Bhargava.

    Khanna has been involved in the company’s US operations since its inception and hitherto existence in stealth mode. He has spent his career in digital advertising in corporate America. 

    Previously, he has worked at iProspect, Boston, before moving to Yahoo! into a management role. He continued with his leadership positions at firms such as Adelphic Mobile and Visual IQ, before joining Nielsen.

    “Aman is the perfect partner to lead the US operations with his rich product and market experience,” said Bhargava. “Under his leadership, we are looking at growing our sales, customer success and product teams in the Americas as well as globally.”

    Criteo appoints Manuela Montagnana as chief people officer

    Mumbai: Global technology company Criteo on Thursday announced the appointment of Manuela Montagnana as chief people officer. In this role, Montagnana will lead the company’s people team, driving talent strategy and playing a key role in defining the future of work for Criteo’s global workforce of more than 2,500 employees. Montagnana replaces Denis Collin, who held the role for three years and will assist in the transition.

    In her new roleat Criteo, Montagnana will be responsible for leading the people team, ensuring equitable, transparent and inclusive processes and practices to support an engaged and high-performing team. In addition, she will drive the strategy and execution of attracting, engaging, developing and retaining top talent by ensuring that Criteo remains an employer of choice, now and in the future, said the company in a statement. 

    She will be based in New York with global remit and will report to Criteo CEO Megan Clarken with plans to relocate to Paris, it added. 

    Montagnana brings more than 20 years of experience as a people executive, leading global teams in the manufacturing, service and technology industries. She has a proven track record of accelerating performance through human capital management in a transformation context in both highly matrixed organisations and those undergoing hyper-growth.

    Most recently, Montagnana was with Compass as vice president, head of human resources for product and engineering division, where she was the business partner to the chief technology and chief product officers. While at Compass, she led major transformational projects including the opening of a new development center in India and completing the talent integration following the M&A of two tech startups.

    BPCL onboards Arun Kumar Singh as new CMD

    Mumbai: Bharat Petroleum Corp Ltd (BPCL) has brought on board Arun Kumar Singh as chairman and managing director (CMD) of the company.

    The state-run oil refining and marketing company also appointed Vetsa Ramakrishna Gupta as new director for finance.

    BPCL has been without a full-time CMD after the previous incumbent superannuated on August 31 last year.

    The role of director finance has been vacant since 1 August after the N Vijayagopal, stepped down from the position on 31 July, upon superannuation.

    A mechanical engineer by qualification, Singh was earlier director of marketing on the board of the company, holding additional charge of director (refineries) and director (finance). In his more than 36 years of experience in the oil & gas industry, he has headed business units and entities in BPCL such as retail, LPG, pipelines, supply chain optimization, etc. 

    He also held the position of president (Africa & Australia) in Bharat Petro Resources Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of BPCL, engaged in the exploration of oil & gas, largely overseas.

    Prativa Mohapatra named Adobe India MD and VP

    Mumbai: US tech giant Adobe has named Prativa Mohapatra as vice president and managing director for Adobe India. In this role, Mohapatra will lead Adobe’s India business across Adobe Experience Cloud, Adobe Creative Cloud and Adobe Document Cloud. She will report to Adobe’s president for the Asia Pacific, Simon Tate.

    Adobe said its strategy for unleashing creativity, accelerating document productivity, and powering digital businesses gives brands a competitive advantage, enabling them to engage customers across every digital touchpoint. With a track record built on innovation, category leadership, and rapidly expanding market opportunity, the firm said Adobe India is poised for continued growth.

    Mohapatra commands over 25 years in the technology industry. She joins Adobe from tech firm IBM, where she served as vice president of digital sales for APAC. Prior to that, she led sales for IBM India and South Asia where she was responsible for driving revenue for the company’s portfolio of solutions and services. 

    Through her various strategic roles at IBM since joining the company in 2002, Mohapatra has a wide range of experience. This includes leading business transformations, scaling teams to meet hyper-growth and evangelising artificial intelligence technology with customers. She started her career at the professional services firm PwC India.

    Mumbai: Video streaming service ZEE5 has brought on board Lloyd Xavier as marketing director for the South region, as per his updated LinkedIn profile.

    Xavier’s appointment comes at a time when the OTT platform is focused on its growth and expansion strategy in the southern markets.

    Starting his career as an analyst with Deloitte in 2010, Xavier has over a decade of experience in the field of marketing, digital and social. He was last associated with Arha Media and Broadcasting as assistant vice president, marketing.

    Previously, he worked with Telugu streaming platform aha as AVP – marketing, Network18 as senior marketing manager, YuppTV as marketing manager.

    He holds a master’s degree in business administration from MIT, School of Business, Pune.
