    Umang Puri rejoins FoxyMoron as creative director

    Mumbai: Zoo Media network-backed digital services agency FoxyMoron has appointed Umang Puri as creative director of the North region. He will be reporting to national creative director Dhruv Warrior.

    Puri has rejoined FoxyMoron from Digitas India, where he served as creative director. During his first stint at FoxyMoron, he was a creative manager.

    “Umang is an ideas guy who has a detailed approach to his work. It perfectly complements his in-depth knowledge of the digital world. The combination is vital to elevating creative output for FoxyMoron, which is a key area of focus when delivering innovative digital solutions to our clients,” said Dhruv Warrior, welcoming Puri on board.

    In this role at FoxyMoron, Puri will be leading the creative operations for the agency’s North clientele and work with agencies across the Zoo Media network, said the agency.

    Puri has over seven years of experience in digital advertising, having worked with marquee brands like Nissan, Datsun, Motorola, and many others in B2B, beauty, and fashion industries. His campaigns have won multiple awards on platforms like the Abby’s, WARC, Spike Asia, and Effies. In 2019 he was also shortlisted as a ‘Young Spike’ at the Spike Asia Awards.

    “As I begin my second stint here, our focus is to navigate the agency into a bigger creative powerhouse by enabling and empowering young talent to become multi-faceted creators. I’m excited to be a part of this journey,” said Puri.

    CredAvenue onboards Karanpreet Bindra as CMO

    Mumbai: Debt markets platform CredAvenue has brought on board former Rupeek executive Karanpreet Bindra as its chief marketing officer. He will be based out of Bangalore and report directly to Gaurav Kumar.

    In his current role, Bindra will oversee the entire gamut of digital, product and brand marketing at CredAvenue for both the enterprise and the B2C businesses.

    He will also be responsible to look after the company’s global brand strategy, digital marketing strategy and innovation, product marketing strategy, and incubation of a consumer business. As CMO, Bindra will define a digital-first path for all marketing efforts at CredAvenue, said the statement.

    “Bindra has a clear vision for the future of marketing and innovation and can build a strategic team to execute the vision at CredAvenue,” said Kumar. “He is an all-rounder veteran who also has an entrepreneurial bent and we do foresee that the team and the brand will flourish under his guidance.”

    Prior to joining CredAvenue, Bindra worked at Rupeek as head of marketing. He was also associated with Marico for close to seven years and was a group ex-pat based out of Dubai. He also had stints with Akzonobel, and Future Brands.

    As a growth specialist for over 15 years, Bindra has experience working with multiple seasoned brands ranging from FMCG, fintech, personal care, and paints across a wide geography in India and the Middle East.
     
    “This is an interesting juncture for the overall fintech space and CredAvenue in specific. The addressable market size, a global mandate, a profitable business model, the CEO’s vision, and the quality of talent within the leadership team is a great combination,” said Bindra on his new role.

    Ants Digital appoints Ratnadeep Sharma as executive producer

    Mumbai: Tech led marketing agency Ants Digital has appointed Ratnadeep Sharma (RD) as executive producer. He will be based out of the agency’s head office in Gurgaon and will oversee all video productions and operations.

    RD joins Ants Digital after working for several agencies, production houses, media publishing houses and television channels. He comes with over 10 years of experience in advertising and has produced over 2000 TVCs, television series, web commercials, AVs, viral content for over 80 leading national international clients.

    “We have been consistently scaling our presence in the digital space, and with his appointment, we will reinforce our operations in digital film production, 2D animation and motion graphics,” said Ants Digital CEO Sanjay Arora. “RD has a good understanding of video production and has vast experience in live shoots and animation, which will add immense value to our clients.     RD has also been the youngest member of the jury panel at many prestigious Indian and international film festivals. One of his campaigns for the online promotion of “Bahubali 2” won the DigiPub award for best brand partnership. He has worked with well-known industry brands such as JW Marriott, Dupont, BASF (Nunhems), Hewlett Packard, Coca Cola, Dominos, KFC, Accor group of hotels, adidas, among many others.

    Mumbai: Media Marketing Compliance (MMC), the independent marketing compliance consultancy, has appointed Shubhra Kakkar as managing director. She will be launching the company’s office in India, based here.

    Kakkar has over 18 years of experience in marketing audit advisory and integrated marketing communications. She has an in-depth understanding of agency advertiser dynamics, contractual challenges and marketing procurement across India and South Asian markets.

    In her previous role as FirmDecisions VP of marcomms, she led media and creative agency audit & advisory projects. Before working in auditing, she held roles at Edelman India and The PRactice – Porter Novelli, advising Hewlett Packard, LinkedIn, and Tata Consultancy Services.

    Mumbai: In a bid to bolster the coverage of primetime news, iTV Network has brought on board Anuraag Muskaan as host for its multi- format primetime news show “Jaagtey Raho”. The show is slated to be broadcast on India News for 60 minutes and will be aired from Monday to Friday at 9 p.m.

    iTV network said the motto of the show is to capture and transmit fresh news updates regularly in the fields ranging from current affairs to politics. “Specially packaged to accommodate the diversified interests of Indian viewers, the show will also explore all aspects of the major stories of the day along with various segments such as speed news, positive news, social media integration and interviews which will add more depth to the coverage,” it added.

    With a career spread over two decades, Muskaan has worked with established names in the media domain such as Jain TV, ETV Urdu, Sahara Samay, Star News, RajyaSabha TV, India TV, India News and most recently at ABP News as a primetime anchor where he hosted his signature show “Ghanti Bajao”.

    Facebook taps Sanjay Gupta for director of int’l marketing role

    Mumbai: Facebook has appointed Uber’s former executive Sanjay Gupta as director of international marketing, as per his updated Linkedln profile. In his current role, Gupta will be based out of San Francisco, California.

    Gupta commands experience across diverse sectors, including tech, e-commerce, and consumer goods. He has worked in global, regional, as well as, local marketing roles.

    He started his journey with Uber in 2017 as marketing head, India, South Asia. He was promoted to the position of global brand director in 2019 after working as marketing director in the US and Canada for a brief period. Later, he was named marketing director, APAC in July 2020.

    During his two-decade-long career, Gupta worked with many other renowned brands. Prior to Uber, he was at Urban Ladder as chief marketing officer. He spent nearly a decade at Marico which includes nearly three years as marketing lead for its wellness and youth section. He was also associated with Accenture.

    Gupta holds a PGDM in marketing from Management Development Institute, Gurgaon, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Shri Ram College of Commerce.

    Mumbai: Jones Lang LaSalle Inc (JLL) on Tuesday announced the appointment of Siddharth Taparia to the global role of chief marketing officer (CMO), effective immediately. He will be responsible for the company’s global marketing strategy and will oversee all marketing activities worldwide, it said.

    “As the real estate industry evolves in response to macro trends including rising capital allocations, sustainability, technology transformation and increasing commercial real estate outsourcing, Siddharth’s proven success as an innovator and strategic marketer will be instrumental in positioning JLL’s full capabilities to the market,” said JLL CEO Christian Ulbrich. “Siddharth’s background in leading commercially driven marketing teams in large, globally matrixed organisations will enable him to bring together our marketing talent across the globe to focus on our purpose of shaping the future of real estate for a better world.”

    Prior to JLL, Taparia was associated with software company SAP as senior VP and global head of corporate brand and experience marketing. Previously, he has held several leadership positions across marketing, strategy, consulting, product management, and mergers and acquisitions.

    Taparia is an accomplished author and advisor on data privacy, cloud computing and value-driven marketing. He earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya in Bhopal before moving to the US to earn his master’s degree from Texas A&M University.

    He is a member of the CMO Club and sits on the board of the CMO Council. He was named in 2018 as one of the 40 Under 40 by DMN, an organisation focused on digital and data-driven marketing.

    Kantar appoints Guillaume Bacuvier to lead Worldpanel

    Mumbai: Data-driven analytics and brand consulting company Kantar on Tuesday announced the appointment of Guillaume Bacuvier as global chief executive officer (CEO) of its consumer panel division Worldpanel. Bacuvier succeeds Josep Montserrat, who has been elevated to the role of non-executive chairman of the Worldpanel business. Both appointments are effective from 13 September. 

    Most recently, Bacuvier was group CEO of dunnhumby Ltd, a global leader in customer data science for the retail and CPG/FMCG industry. He led a commercial and technological transformation of the business, involving material investment in the company’s product portfolio, and both acquisitions and divestments to strengthen the company’s competitive positioning. Over his four-year tenure, dunnhumby improved its operating performance and expanded its customer base across the globe whilst improving employee engagement and customer satisfaction.

    Prior to dunhumby, Bacuvier was at Google for more than a decade, holding a number of senior roles, culminating in vice-president, advertising solutions, EMEA where he was responsible for all aspects of the core online advertising business in the region, including commercial P&L for Google’s Doubleclick and Analytics business. He started his career as a strategy consultant in BoozAllen Hamilton’s TMT practice before moving to Orange Group where he was responsible for messaging services for all Orange OpCos. He holds an MBA from INSEAD and a graduate degree in industrial economics from Université Paris-IX Dauphine.

    “The next phase of growth for our Worldpanel business will be heavily influenced by technology and advanced data analytics, and Guillaume’s expertise and experience will prove invaluable,” said deputy CEO and CFO Ian Griffiths.

    Montserrat joined Worldpanel in 1994 and was appointed CEO of the Worldpanel business in 2007. Over 14 years, he has built a world-renowned business that serves as industry currency standard data in almost 50 countries. He built the Worldpanel business on the foundations of strong employee culture.
