    Mumbai: Gunjan Arora Mann has joined News18 India digital as regional head for the North and East region, according to her LinkedIn profile. She will be based out of Gurugram.

    In this new role, Gunjan will oversee branded content in the general news category for the websites.

    A media marketing professional with over 16 years of experience, Gunjan was last associated with Bennett Coleman and Co Ltd, where she held various leadership roles within the media conglomerate, for close to six years. Her previous stints include companies like Mindshare, DDB Mudra, and Digital Market Asia.

    Mumbai: Fintech company Lendingkart Technologies Pvt Ltd on Tuesday brought Ram Deshpande on board as senior vice president and head of marketing.

    In his new role, Deshpande will be responsible for varied brand-building activities across traditional and digital marketing communications for Lendingkart Group as well as campaigns around its vast product portfolio targeting a wide range of customers and partners, said the statement.

Till recently, he was leading digital services for Cheil Worldwide (Samsung Group) wherein he worked on multiple advertising and communication campaigns for mobile phones, consumer electronics, and other product categories of Samsung India.

    Mumbai: Full-stack marketing automation and customer data platform WebEngage on Tuesday announced the appointment of Ankur Gattani as VP, growth and marketing.

    Gattani has over 13 years of experience including as a customer, mentor, and advisor to WebEngage in his previous roles. In this role, he will be taking charge of the entire growth marketing function at Webengage to sharpen the company’s positioning as a thought leader in retention marketing and a champion of building enduring businesses, said the statement.

    Mumbai: dentsu international has announced the creation of a new market leadership role of chief client officer (CCO) and elevated Narayan Devanathan to this position for India. Most recently, Devanathan was dentsu Solutions CEO, dentsu India president of strategy & integration, and dentsu Creative APAC lead for strategy & consulting.

    The development is seen as a key part of the dentsu India 2.0 transformation agenda. While a CEO for dentsu India is being recruited, Devanathan will report into global CEO media and global clients and interim co-CEO for India Peter Huijboom.

    Prior to this, Pandya was associated with OTT platform Zee5 where he was head of content acquisition and partnership for more than five years. He previously worked with TAM Media Research as director of clients acquisition for over 10 years.

    Pandya commands over 16 years of experience in content strategy, content acquisition, content creation, business planning, digital strategy, research, new business development, budgeting, P&L management, and client servicing to the media industry as a whole.

    Established in 2015, Legend Global Studio is producer Sandeep Singh’s independent media production company that bankrolled films like “Sarbjit,” “Bhoomi,” and “PM Narendra Modi.”

    Vijay Anand Kunduri named PubMatic regional VP – OTT business, APAC

    Mumbai: PubMatic, a sell-side platform for digital advertising, announced the appointment of Vijay Anand Kunduri as regional vice president for its OTT business in APAC.

    Kunduri’s role will be to accelerate the growth of the PubMatic OTT and video business across the region; consulting with existing publishers, creating new relationships, and further establishing PubMatic as a preferred platform for media buyers and publishers, said the company in a statement.

    The appointment comes as PubMatic continues to expand its commitment to the development of the OTT marketplace. “We are thrilled to welcome Vijay to the PubMatic team,” said PubMatic chief revenue officer – APAC Jason Barnes. “We have been building an innovative OTT business in the APAC region, which we plan to further accelerate under his leadership.”

    Kunduri was last associated with the video advertising company Unruly as managing director in Asia. He brings more than two decades of experience working with leading broadcast, video-on-demand, and digital companies across Asia Pacific.

    In the last decade, he has helped to establish American and European ad tech companies in the Asia-Pacific region, including setting up Adotube, a video ad network, in Southeast Asia, and spearheading Switzerland-based Viewster’s move into the VOD (video-on-demand) and OTT markets in the region.

    “There has been explosive growth in the adoption of connected screens and consumption of streaming content in the region,” said Kunduri. “Brands and OTT publishers have a tremendous opportunity to engage consumers and find new revenue with programmatic partners like PubMatic that offer the optimal combination of technology and premium advertiser and content partnerships.”

    Viacom18 appoints Jyoti Deshpande as CEO

    Mumbai: Viacom18 on Thursday appointed Jyoti Deshpande as chief executive officer with immediate effect. She serves on the boards of Network18 and investee companies Balaji Telefilms and Saavn Media.

    In her new assignment, Deshpande will help bring synergies across all of Reliance’s media interests and investments and further equip the company to drive significant growth opportunities as the industry embraces digital transformation, said the statement.

    “Viacom18 is poised to grow as a truly integrated media company across broadcast, OTT and content studio business spanning general entertainment, movies and sports across languages,” said Network18 chairman Adil Zainulbhai. “Given Jyoti’s rich experience in the media sector around content, distribution and monetisation across traditional and emerging platforms, we believe she is best placed to lead the company and its operations.” 

    Deshpande brings over 27 years of experience in the media and entertainment business. Prior to this, she joined Reliance Industries in 2018 as president – media platform and content, after having successfully built a leading media company and pioneered its early disruptive entry into the OTT space. As a business leader in Reliance, Deshpande in the last three years, has leveraged her industry relationships to establish Jio Studios as a key player in the media value chain.
