    Mumbai: Integrated marketing communication agency Efficacy Worldwide has brought Ravindra Singh on board as general manager, North.

    In his new role, Singh will be responsible for new business development and client servicing across clients in the North region, said the company in a statement.

    Singh has a rich work experience of more than 14 years in building brands, brand strategy, client servicing, and business development. He has worked with leading media agencies including Havas Media Group, Madison Media. Before joining Efficacy, he was the business director – audience planning at Havas Media.

    Ponnuswamy joins Zensciences after 15 years with Origami Creative Concepts where she was head – brand strategy. Prior to that, she has been associated with organisations like AC Nielsen, McCann Worldwide, and DDB Mudra.

    Mumbai: Wunderman Thompson has appointed Shamsuddin Jasani as chief executive officer for South Asia, effective 1 November.

    Jasani will report directly to Wunderman Thompson International CEO Ewen Sturgeon. “We are pleased to have Shams join our Wunderman Thompson leadership, and believe he is the natural successor to continue propelling our South Asia business forward,” said Sturgeon.

    The development comes on the back of chairman and group CEO – South Asia Tarun Rai moving into a new role as executive director of strategic initiatives, APAC.

    Jasani is a veteran of the industry, having launched Isobar in India in 2008 and growing it from a two-person team to over 300-strong across South Asia. Under his leadership, his team has been recognised as one of the top digital agencies under the Brand Equity Agency Reckoner and won multiple awards including ‘Digital Agency of the Year India’ for three times.     Mumbai: Data center provider Web Werks has announced the appointment of Durgesh Pandey as chief finance officer (CFO).

    In his new role, Pandey will be responsible for the management of all financial processes in India for all the legal entities, partnering in the formulation of the overall organisation strategy & facilitating business growth. He will be a pivotal member of the senior management team, said the company in a statement.

    Phanimohan Kalagara named new CTO at Pine Labs

    Mumbai: Merchant commerce platform Pine Labs on Wednesday announced the appointment of Phanimohan Kalagara as its new CTO.

    Kalagara is an MS in computer science from Utah State University and has over two decades of experience working with companies in the United States and India. He has extensive experience in the field of technology having worked in e-commerce, financial technology, and the CAD/CAM industries. He also brings expertise in emerging technologies like virtual reality.

    “We have made several new appointments in the past one year to bolster our technology capabilities. I am delighted to welcome Phanimohan as the new CTO,” stated Pine Labs CEO B Amrish Rau. “Phani comes with a wealth of experience in product and engineering and is the right man to lead our technology team during this exciting phase of growth for the company. I would also like to acknowledge the role of his predecessor Sanjeev Kumar who will now move into a new role within the company and head the R&D vertical.”

    Prior to joining Pine Labs, Kalagara was with e-commerce company Flipkart where he was the SVP of product and engineering. He has also spent 12 years with global fintech company PayPal where he was leading product and engineering and spent nearly eight years in the United States working on several key assignments for the company.

    TV9 Network appoints Anshuman Tiwari as editor, Money9

    Mumbai: TV9 Network has strengthened the leadership of TV9 Digital and appointed Anshuman Tiwari as editor of Money9. Veteran journalist Rakesh Khar will assume a larger role as business and economy editor of the network.

    Tiwari is a recipient of the Ramnath Goenka Award, the WAN-INFRA international award for investigative journalism, and, most recently, the ENBA award for the best economic show on digital platforms. He is a Chevening fellow and has had brief stints with global media brands like Financial Times, London, Dayton News Chronicle, Ohio, USA.

    He is known for his innovative and simple style of explaining complex issues of personal finance, public finance economy, and capital market.

    “While language audiences have always been under-served in terms of personal finance, that need gap has only widened with rapid financialisation and digitisation of semi-urban and rural India,” said TV9 Network chief executive officer Barun Das. “Money9 will serve the finest personal finance content in simple, easy-to-consume formats, accessible in multiple languages. I am confident we will deliver on this promise with Anshuman leading the Money9 editorial team.”

    Money9 is a multilingual personal finance platform. The platform is currently available in Hindi and English and will soon be available in five other languages – Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, Gujarati, and Bengali.

    Mumbai: Dentsu Webchutney on Wednesday announced that CEO Gautam Reghunath and COO PG Aditiya will be leaving their positions early next year to set up their own venture. With this change, the agency will now be back under the direct charge of dentsuMB Group CEO Sidharth Rao. Rao, founder of dentsu Webchutney, will front the agency’s leadership team, even as Reghunath and PG Aditiya will continue to work with him through this period to ensure a smooth transition for the creative agency.

    “Gautam & PG have been the two most defining hires in our history. As a founder, you want your people to find their calling at the company you build, and the legacy the two of them leave behind is the best possible example of this,” said Sidharth Rao. “From joining at entry-level positions in 2010 and 2012 respectively, and rising to the very top through hard work, passion and just simply being the best in the business at their jobs.     Mumbai: Blink Digital has announced new hires to strengthen its team further. Shweta Bhalla has joined as media director and Dazy Verma is named as strategy director at the digital agency.

    Bhalla holds a professional experience of eight years overall where she did multiple roles from researcher to media planning. At Blink Digital, she will be overseeing media planning and strategy. Previously, she has worked with Mindshare as director – strategy and has worked for clients across auto, FMCG, retail industries. “The company already holds a great position in the digital marketing space. I will contribute my best to keep that intact. I am looking forward to driving media solutions while guaranteeing we are at our efficient best,” said Bhalla.

    Verma has previously worked with Mullen Lintas as a planning director and her core expertise lies in brand strategy, media planning, and branded content. With a decade of experience in working with auto, e-commerce, FMCG, nutrition and wellness, lifestyle and luxury industries, Verma will look after the strategic planning function as well as the content practice at Blink Digital. “My focus will be to build powerful brand narratives that transform the creative work that we do across digital channels and touchpoints. I am looking forward to this journey toward nurturing our old brand partnerships and building new ones,” Verma said.

    Mukut Deepak joins BYJU’S as head of business

    Mumbai: Edtech company BYJU’S on Monday announced the appointment of Mukut Deepak as head of business to lead its class 4 to 10 school segment. He will report to BYJU’S COO Mrinal Mohit.

    In this role, Deepak will be responsible for expanding and leading the flagship business for the class 4 to 10 segment, said the company. “Working in conjunction with the product, marketing, and sales teams, he will forecast, build and propose strategies for the growth of his vertical and establish systems and operations to optimise the company’s goals,” it added.

    Before joining BYJU’S, Deepak was with Tata Sky Ltd as chief business development and as director for Tata Sky’s digital venture. A business leader with over two decades of experience in varied sectors, he brings on board his expertise in envisioning and building new-age digital businesses, entrepreneurship, sales, strategy, service excellence, and more. He has been an entrepreneur twice over, once as a founder of a distribution venture focussed on retailing innovative financial services products called Distribution 2.0 and then as director and head of advisory for a logistics start-up called Thinklink Supply Chain Services.

He has won several awards and accolades during his professional career in various domains such as consumer goods and services, IT, media, telecom, and private equity.

    Mumbai: Furniture and home products marketplace Pepperfry on Monday named Piyush Agarwal as the head of supply chain. His appointment is effective immediately and he will be based out of Pepperfry House, here.

    In his new role, Agarwal will be responsible for leading the next phase of growth in Pepperfry’s supply chain agenda across the country, said the company in a statement.

    “Piyush’s appointment is to further strengthen our capabilities and beef up our distribution as we look to significantly expand our reach going ahead and offer our services to more clients in the space,” stated Pepperfry co-founder and COO Ashish Shah.

    Agarwal has close to a decade-long experience in supply chain functions across various verticals like – materials, planning, operations, inventory management, warehousing, forecasting & transportation. Previously, he was associated with Colgate Palmolive where he was instrumental in leading large-scale warehousing projects. He is also an alumnus of NITIE where he pursued an MBA in supply chain.
