    Jason Monteiro joins HBO Max as GM for Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and Taiwan

    Mumbai: WarnerMedia has appointed Jason Monteiro as general manager of HBO Max for Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and Taiwan. He will temporarily report to HBO Max international head Johannes Larcher until a new managing director for the broader INSEAK region (India, Southeast Asia and Korea) is appointed.

    Monteiro will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of WarnerMedia’s direct-to-consumer business leading content experience, brand, marketing, subscriber management and digital partnerships. He will oversee the existing HBO Go streaming service and the eventual launch of HBO Max in APAC and the Middle East region, said the statement.

    “Jason arrives at HBO Max with a proven track record of building and growing subscription services across Asia and other important global markets,” said Johannes Larcher. “He is a passionate leader known for building and inspiring high-performing teams, and I am eager to see his leadership in action as he steps into his new role today.”

    “I could not be more excited to be joining this amazing organisation and in particular to lead the charge for HBO Max,” said Monteiro. “It’s going to be such a thrill to work with the people across WarnerMedia to bring the likes of Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, DC, Warner Bros, HBO favorites, new Max Originals and many more, to the viewers in Southeast Asia.”

    Moneteiro was previously associated with Arabic streaming service Shahid as director of advertising video-on-demand (AVOD). He was responsible for P&L for the free ad-supported tier offered by the service, ensuring that it had the widest user reach, user engagement, unique content offering and best digital video advertising solution for brands in the Middle East.

    Prior to that, he was associated with Southeast Asian streaming service iflix as chief marketing officer and general manager of Indonesia and Malaysia. He has also worked at telco majors such as Indosat Ooredoo and Vodafone.

    Mumbai: Havas Group India has announced the appointment of Sumeer Mathur as national planning head and managing partner, Havas Worldwide India – the creative agency of the group, with immediate effect. He will be based out of the Gurugram office and report to Havas Group India group CEO Rana Barua.

    Mathur will be partnering Havas Worldwide (Creative) managing director Manas Lahiri and Havas Worldwide (Creative) ED and NCD Ravinder Siwach to scale up the agency further, collaborate with key clients including Reckitt, Citroën, Dabur, Suzuki, William Grant, Tata and Harman (JBL) among many others, and drive the strategic planning vision and expertise at Havas Creative India, said the statement.

    He will also collaborate closely with Havas Worldwide’s chief client officer and head of group integration Arindam Sengupta, and Havas CX EVP and business head Prashant Tekwani to drive the group’s vision of integration and CX. In addition, Mathur will also join forces with the entire senior leadership of the group companies of Havas Group to help drive the integration across the network.

    Mathur has worked across industries such as FMCG, telecom, automobiles, foods for some of India’s leading brands including Royal Enfield, Bira, Mother Dairy, Airtel, Unilever’s Fair & Lovely, Clinic All Clear, Cadbury and many more. Over the years, he has had successful stints at leading agencies such as DDB Mudra Group, JWT, Rediffusion Y&R, Contract and Lowe Lintas. His last stint was at Edelman as SVP, national planning and strategy head.

    He has been involved in several M&A transactions & integration and spearheaded finance transformation, process re-engineering & digitisation initiatives. He has built ‘high-performance’ teams across the globe and driven excellence by enabling, empowering and motivating team members towards achieving optimal results. 

    Rathi has worked in the IT services space for almost 20 years, as well as  e-commerce and manufacturing sectors with Indian & foreign multinationals managing the global finance, taxation, legal and secretarial functions.

    Mumbai: Plant-based nutrition brand Plix has announced the onboarding of Krithika Sriram as chief growth officer. 

    In this role, Sriram will spearhead growth, drive the go-to-market strategy for new product lines, extension into new categories, and expansion into international markets.

    Grapes appoints Partha Sengupta as creative director

    Mumbai: Integrated marketing agency Grapes has announced the appointment of Partha Sengupta as creative director. He will be based out of the agency’s Delhi office and will report to the chief operating officer and strategy head Shradha Agarwal.

    In this role, Sengupta will be responsible for the agency’s creative output for brands. He will supervise the creative teams, assist in campaign conceptualisation, and will overlook art and creative teams, respectively.  

    Prior to this, Sengupta was associated with Wunderman Thompson as a senior creative director for more than three years. He has been instrumental in conceptualising campaigns of several brands.

    Mumbai: Dwijendra Parashar has joined Star Sports as marketing manager for cricket, as per his LinkedIn profile.

    Parashar is a marketing professional, who was previously associated with Pidilite Industries Ltd for over six years. He joined Pidilite as branch manager in 2016 and scaled his way up to the position of head of field marketing in 2017. He moved on from the company as brand manager (Fevistik).

    “Today, as I identify myself as something other than a Pidilitian, as I step out of the organisation that has nurtured me over the last 6.5 years, I can express nothing but gratitude for my leaders who have gone above and beyond to aid my development and teach me all I know today,” Parashar said in a LinkedIn post.

    Mumbai: Chargeup, the homegrown battery-swapping network for e-rickshaws, has announced the joining of Ankur Madan as COO and co-founder of the company.

    At Chargeup, Madan will head operations and technology and lead the company’s product strategy, said the statement.

    Madan has over 15 years of market experience in multiple industries and is proficient in building businesses from scratch. Prior to Chargeup, he held key positions in Ubico Networks, Bharti Airtel, Haier Appliances, and Spectra.

    “Ankur is vastly experienced in product strategy and development, and managing various commercial aspects in the customer as well as business-facing arenas.
