    Initiative Media becomes media AOR for Urban Company

    Mumbai: Online home service platform Urban Company has named Initiative Media, the full-service media arm of Mediabrands India as its media agency on record. The account was won following a closely contested multi-agency pitch and will be managed out of the agency’s Gurugram office.

    According to a statement, the business mandate includes both online and offline media duties and will focus on providing comprehensive media solutions to augment business outcomes.

    “We are extremely delighted by this association and prepared to position Urban Company as the country’s go-to platform for all of their listed services.     Viacom 18’s Jyoti Deshpande appointed as co-chair of FICCI media & entertainment board

    Mumbai: FICCI on Monday announced the appointment of Viacom 18 Media CEO Jyoti Deshpande as the co-chair of the FICCI media and entertainment board. This is the first time that a woman executive from the media industry has been appointed as one of the office bearers of this very important vertical.  

    Deshpande is an industry veteran with over 29 years of experience across the country’s foremost media and entertainment companies. She pioneered Eros’ early entry into the OTT space (through Eros Now) and established Jio Studios as a key player in the entertainment value chain. She is currently serving as the CEO of Viacom18, making her the first woman to lead a big-four media and entertainment company.

    She has featured among Fortune India as well as Business Today’s 50 Most Powerful Women in Business lists, both of which celebrate the journeys and triumphs of women who not only impact their organisation but are also thought leaders in their industry.

    Former chairman of Turkish Airlines Ilker Ayci named Air India CEO

    New Delhi: Tata Sons on Monday announced the onboarding of former chairman of Turkish Airlines Ilker Ayci as chief executive officer and managing director of Air India. He will assume his responsibilities on or before 1 April, Tata Sons said.

    “The board after due deliberations approved the appointment of Ilker Ayci as the CEO & MD of Air India. This appointment is subject to requisite regulatory approvals,” Tata Sons said in a press statement.

    The Air India board met on Monday to approve the candidature of Ilker Ayci. Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran was a special invitee to this board meeting.

    “Ilker is an aviation industry leader who led Turkish Airlines to its current success during his tenure there. We are delighted to welcome Ilker to the Tata Group where he would lead Air India into the new era,” said N Chandrasekaran on Ayci’s appointment.

    Recently, Tata Group has officially taken over Air India from the government. Tata Sons is the holding company of the business conglomerate.

    Mumbai: Finacial services provider Ashika Group has appointed Vishesh Sharma as chief marketing officer (CMO). He will be based in Mumbai and report directly to Ashika Group CEO Chirag Jain.

    The bolstering of the company’s leadership ranks is in line with its vision of fortifying the personal finance ecosystem and transforming how New India manages its savings and investments with the newly-launched My Dhanush app, said the statement.

    At Ashika Group, Sharma will be responsible for brand building, content marketing, social media, and corporate communications for the retail business, which is stacked under the company’s master brand, My Dhanush, it added.
