    Anuj Jain named as Kansai Nerolac Paints MD

    Mumbai: Kansai Nerolac Paints Ltd (KNPL) has announced the appointment of Anuj Jain as the managing director, effective from 1 April. Jain succeeds H M Bharuka, who will be superannuating on 31 March.

    Jain joined KNPL in 1990 as a management trainee. In his tenure of over 30 years at the company, he has worked in various capacities across various functions and brings a wealth of experience. He has been on the board of KNPL in the capacity of executive director since 2018. 

    “I am deeply grateful to the board and Kansai Paints, Japan for giving me an opportunity to not just be a part but lead this esteemed organisation,” said Anuj Jain. “I look forward to continuing the rich history of this company and build on the legacy of Mr Bharuka to take the company to greater heights.

    Bharuka joined KNPL in 1985, becoming its managing director in April 2001. He featured amongst India’s Top 50 CEOs and was awarded a lifetime achievement award by the Indian Chemical Industry. He served as the first non-Japanese director on the board of Kansai Paints, Japan. He is also credited for leading KNPL’s expansion into the Indian subcontinent.

    “Bharuka was known for his visionary and bold leadership style which led to many firsts in the Indian paint industry. Under his leadership, KNPL won numerous accolades in a variety of areas notably the Golden Peacock Award for Corporate Governance, Best Managed Company by Business Today, Great Place to Work by GPTW and recognition as an ESG leader in India by CRISIL,” said the company in a statement.

    Debkumar Dasgupta joins Merzigo Asia as VP & business head of content

    Mumbai: Debkumar Dasgupta has joined Turkey-based Merzigo as vice president and business head – content for Asia. He was previously with media distribution company IndiaCast as media syndication head for the Middle East and Africa.

    Merzigo provides a range of services including digital curation, directly for broadcasters, distributors and producers including Fox, The Walt Disney Company and KanalD.

    In his new role, Dasgupta will be responsible for the syndication of Turkish drama series in the Asia region focusing on India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, South Korea, Malaysia and Indonesia. He will be leading the content planning, governance, acquisition and delivery operations of the company in the region. 

    Over a career spanning 35 years, Dasgupta’s longest stint was at Viacom18 Media and IndiaCast Media Distribution where he worked for 24 years. He initially managed the domestic distribution of the TV channel Colors and was later appointed to manage the Asia Pacific channel distribution and global content sales and syndication. Later, he was elevated to manage the channel business including subscription, ad sales, syndication in the Middle East and Africa.

    Mumbai: Investment platform Upstox has announced the addition of three senior executives to its leadership team. The company has appointed former Myntra CMO Harish Narayanan as chief growth officer, Saurabh Agarwal as vice president – new initiatives, and Jayant Chauhan as senior vice president – finance.

    “It gives us great pleasure to welcome Harish, Saurabh, and Jayant to Upstox’s leadership team,” said Upstox co-founder and CEO Ravi Kumar. “They bring with them immense experience and expertise.     Harish Narayanan will be responsible for driving full-funnel business growth, marketing, operational excellence, and strategic collaborations. Prior to joining Upstox, Narayanan served as the chief marketing officer at Myntra for almost three years before stepping down from the e-commerce marketplace in November 2021. He was responsible for all aspects of marketing and was also leading the brand solutions and creative teams as part of his responsibilities at Myntra.

    She joins CredAvenue from Gojek, an integrated technology group based in Southeast Asia, where she served as the head of data organisation for GoFood – Gojek’s food business. She has rich experience building high-impact, data science solutions and products at scale across large enterprises and high-velocity start-ups.

    Republic TV rejigs top leadership, names Darius Maneckji as business head

    Mumbai: Republic Media Network has bolstered its business team with the elevation of Hersh Bhandari as group chief operating officer – broadcasting division and appointment of Darius Maneckji as business head for Republic TV and senior executive vice president.

    In his new role, Bhandari will oversee the entire national operations for all existing broadcast channels of the network. Maneckji will now lead the entire expansive national operations for Republic TV, including the channel’s offices in Bengaluru, Noida, Gurgaon, Kolkata and Mumbai. He will report to Hersh Bhandari, announced the network in a statement on Wednesday.

    With 24 years of experience, Bhandari is a well-established industry veteran with hefty achievements. With his impeccable record, he will also lead and strategise all future growth of the network’s broadcasting business into languages and regions. “Bhandari will manage the entire broadcast business operations from the network’s offices in Noida and Mumbai,” the media company said.

    “At Republic Media Network, we continue to consolidate and strengthen ourselves with speed for the growth that beckons us,” said Hersh Bhandari. “I am energised by the trust reposed in me by the board, management, and my colleagues, to help shape and deliver the next phase of growth.     With over 20 years of experience, dominantly in leadership positions, Maneckji has a well-respected and robust record in the media. He has been the national sales head in the past for Times Now and also the national sales head for the English movie cluster at Turner International India. Before onboarding with Republic TV, his last assignment was with TV Today.  “I am excited to join India’s fastest-growing news network. I look forward to working with one of the best teams in the business to ensure we continue to command and establish our leadership role in the English news genre,” said Darius Maneckji.

    Mumbai: Mosaic Wellness, a health & wellness start-up running digital health clinic platforms Man Matters and Bodywise, has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of Abhinav Mohan as chief business officer. 

    In this role, Mohan will head all categories and brand marketing and work closely with co-founder and CEO Revant Bhate, said the statement.

    In his previous roles at InMobi, he has also worked on consumer insights, performance marketing and innovative data solutions across both ad-tech and mar-tech.

    Publicis India appoints Amaresh Godbole as CEO – digital tech business

    Mumbai: Publicis Groupe India on Wednesday announced the appointment of Amaresh Godbole as CEO of digital technology business. In this role, Godbole will be leading the digital experience and technology agencies Digitas India and Indigo Consulting. He will also be responsible for scaling up the Publicis Commerce D2C offering.

    The role will report to Publicis Groupe South Asia CEO Anupriya Acharya and both Digitas India CEO Unny Radhakrishnan and Indigo Consulting MD Jose Leon will work closely with Godbole, said the company in a statement.

    “The last two years have seen an acceleration in technology adoption and companies across sectors are grappling with the need to deliver more contemporary customer experiences and improve critical business processes,” remarked Anupriya Acharya. “We have an opportunity to accelerate further our unique digital technology offerings in India and unlock new avenues, bringing in exponential growth for clients.     Mumbai: Homegrown crypto unicorn CoinSwitch has announced the appointment of R Venkatesh as senior vice president of public policy. 

    Venkatesh will work on policy, regulation, and external affairs to help create a regulatory framework for crypto assets in India, which fosters growth and innovation with consumer protection at the forefront, said the company in a statement.
