    Jubilant FoodWorks onboards Sameer Khetarpal as CEO & managing director

    Mumbai: Food service company Jubilant Food Works Limited (JFL) announced on Monday the appointment of Sameer Khetarpal as chief executive officer and managing director of the company. Khetarpal will succeed Pratik Pota effective from 5 September 2022, the company said in a statement.

    He joined Jubilant from Amazon, a company where he had been working for six and half years, during which time he conceptualized, launched and scaled several business units like Amazon Fresh, Amazon Pharmacy and Amazon Food.

    Before joining Amazon, Khetarpala worked as a partner at McKinsey and company, where he helped tech companies build their businesses and transform themselves into digital enterprises. He was instrumental in building data-driven service lines used by several fortune 500 companies. He has previously worked with GE Capital and Hindustan Unilever.

    Speaking on the appointment, Jubilant FoodWorks chairman Shyam S. Bhartia and co-chairman Hari S.     Incorporated in 1995, JFL holds the exclusive master franchise rights from Domino’s Pizza to develop and operate the brand in India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Nepal. In India, JFL has a network of 1,567 Domino’s restaurants across 337 cities.

    Mumbai: US based end-to-end streaming and OTT (over-the-top) solutions provider ViewLift has announced the elevation of Shraddha Pednekar to CXO (chief experience officer) and Sujith Vellat to CTO (chief technology officer).

    The announcement comes as ViewLift, an enabler of regional focused OTT platforms like Hoichoi, Oho Gujarati, Kachaa Lannka, looks to further expand its operations in India and the subcontinent.

    “The talent that ViewLift is looking to recruit in India, will support increasing the B2B presence on separate OTT platforms,” said the statement. “Those additional teams will be tasked with developing ViewLift’s long-term capabilities, with its strong leadership at the helm.”

    “Having experience of operating in the Indian and global markets, both Shraddha and Sujith will be instrumental for ViewLift as we continue with our market expansion,” said ViewLift co-founder and president Manik Bambha. “Since Shraddha and Sujith joined the team, we have seen the direct impact of their dedication to our customers and to improving our product offerings constantly.     Shraddha Pednekar will be responsible for global project delivery and client engagement and satisfaction, as well as help to strengthen ViewLift’s end-to-end product development based on ongoing client experience.

    As CTO at ViewLift, Vellat will be responsible for guiding the continued development and innovation of the company’s end-to-end streaming and OTT platform, enabling customers with advanced monetization, real-time analytics, growth tools and significantly reduced time to market.

    ViewLift has a presence in multiple locations across the US, Europe and India. Its clientele is spread across media and entertainment, sports and broadcasting.

    Pepperfry appoints Anand Batra as the chief financial officer

    Mumbai: The e-commerce furniture and home goods company, Pepperfry announced on Friday the appointment of Anand Batra as its chief financial officer (CFO). This is Batra’s second stint with Pepperfry, his first being a five-year stint during the early days of Pepperfry’s inception. In his role as CFO, Batra will spearhead the organisation’s corporate strategy, fundraising efforts, financial operations, legal and secretarial functions. His appointment is effective immediately and he will be based at the Pepperfry corporate office in Mumbai.

    Batra is a seasoned finance professional with more than a decade of experience in venture capital, business management, financial planning and operations, fundraising, strategy, and investment banking.

    Before joining Pepperfry, Batra worked as executive director at Z3Partners, a leading tech and digital fund, where he was involved with the fund’s investments in Dealshare, Shipsy, Gramophone and Cyfirma. Earlier, Batra was a principal in the investing team at IvyCap Ventures, focusing on early-stage investments in Indian consumer and technology-enabled businesses.

    Before starting his career as an investor, Batra headed up category management for the home goods business at Pepperfry. During this stint, Batra transformed the home business unit economics while maintaining high levels of customer experience. Batra headed up the financial planning and strategy function at Pepperfry, where he led fundraising efforts, apart from helping shape the company’s omnichannel strategy and launching business categories.

    A graduate of the London School of Economics and Narsee Monjee College, Mumbai, Batra started his career as an investment banker at Lazard and Avendus Capital in India.

    Mumbai: Shresth Bharti has joined Jio Ads as national sales director for FMCG and retail. His responsibility is to onboard FMCG and retail clients on the Jio Ads platform.

    Previously, Bharti was associated with Disney+ Hotstar for four years and quit as associate vice president of sales. He’s also had stints at Shopclues, L’Oreal and Dabur.

    Bharti has completed his MBA from SVKM’s Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS).

    MUMBAI: Personal care brand, Bombay Shaving Company has appointed Varun Gupta as senior vice president – growth.     Mumbai: Shemaroo Entertainment has elevated Vijay Bhanushali as deputy vice president – animation, kids, digital, licensing and merchandising. He has been associated with the company for over 14 years.  

    Bhanushali has two decades of experience and handles key areas such as digital media, international co-productions, global acquisition and sales, production, licensing and merchandising at Shemaroo Entertainment. His expertise lies in syndication of children’s television features and new media content.

    During his career, he has had stints at Tiger Production and ICE Logics Entertainment. He has also been a faculty at Zee Institute of Media Arts and Digital Academy where he taught film editing.

    Dentsu appoints Saagar Sethi to lead Amplifi in India

    Mumbai: Dentsu India appointed Saagar Sethi as the president of its supply side management platform, Amplifi. Saagar stepped into the role in April 2022, as part of the increased media leadership roster across Dentsu India.  

    In his new role, Saagar will lead the network’s investment management, media trading (media owner services and principal buying) and content (original partnerships & entertainment) businesses in India. He will also have responsibility for helping drive the continued growth of The Story Lab and Posterscope, two specialist agency units within Dentsu which focus on entertainment production and out of home (OOH) capabilities, respectively. Saagar will report to Divya Karani, media CEO, Dentsu – South Asia and work closely with the global Amplifi leadership to focus on creating truly sustainable values for Dentsu and its partners in India and across the globe.

    Armed with 15 years of experience in transition management, Saagar’s appointment echoes Dentsu’s commitment to continually elevate its growth trajectory across markets.     Prior to this, Saagar was the head of indirect procurement in LG Electronics India, where he played an instrumental role in successfully handling diversified, complex and companywide transformation projects, nationally and internationally.     Mumbai: According to a LinkedIn update, Google has appointed Durga Raghunath as head of news partnerships – India. Previously, she was the head of digital at Times of India associated with Times Internet.

    Raghunath, formerly, worked as senior vice president of growth at Zomato and was also the CEO – digital at The Indian Express. Simultaneously, she was the co-founder and CEO of Juggernaut Books and CEO of Network18 Digital/Web18. During her career, Raghunath has had stints at publications such as The Wall Street Journal, LiveMint, HarperCollins and Orient Longman. She is an alumnus of India School of Business and Columbia University.  

    With over two decades of experience, Raghunath’s expertise lies in digital media and commerce, product development, consumer technology, mobile experiences and monetisation of digital products via ads, daily transactions and subscriptions.

    Business Insider’s Sriram Iyer joins CNBC-TV18 as executive editor

    Mumbai: Sriran Iyer has joined business news brand CNBC-TV18 as executive editor, according to a LinkedIn update. He will be leading the digital team of the company.

    Iyer is a senior journalist with over 15 years of experience. He was previously associated with Business Insider India as editor-in-chief. This is his second stint at CNBC-TV18. Iyer has had stints with publications such as The Indian Express, Thomson Reuters, Bennett Coleman and Company, BTVI and Quartz.

    Iyer said, “After over three amazing years at Business Insider India, I’m starting a new chapter, today, as the executive editor at the biggest business news brand in India, CNBC-TV18.     Mumbai: AI solutions company, Yellow.ai announced on Tuesday the appointment of Surbhi Agarwal, as its senior vice president (SVP) of global marketing. Agarwal joins Yellow.ai from Google Cloud, where she led product and solution marketing for Data Analytics and Cloud AI portfolio, including Contact Center AI.

    “Agarwal comes with over two decades of leadership across product life cycle management, sales enablement, product marketing and product-led growth in early-stage start-ups and large enterprises. Previously, she has also run product management and corporate strategy at Intel Corporation and McAfee,” the company said in a statement.
