In the third wave of the internet, which is more transparent and employs technologies like blockchain, AI, and IOT to offer a more engaging user experience for the business, he will be working on identifying & building various opportunities.

    Rahul joined Shemaroo in 2018 and has been instrumental in carving an identity for its various consumer facing businesses. He played a pivotal role in the transformation of Shemaroo from a B2B to a B2C new-age digital company, and its new imagery roll out with the company’s foray into OTT and broadcast.

    Yes Bank names Nipun Kaushal as chief marketing officer

    MUMBAI: Yes Bank announced the appointment of Nipun Kaushal as the chief marketing officer (CMO) for the bank. In this role, he will be responsible for the marketing and corporate communication (MCC) and corporate social responsibility (CSR) functions of the bank. He will be involved in developing comprehensive marketing and communication strategies that will support the overall strategic objectives of the bank. 

    He will also be involved in accelerating the CSR initiatives to position Yes Bank as a leading and socially responsible organisation. His appointment will further strengthen the overall brand awareness and positioning of  Yes Bank in the domestic & international markets. He will be reporting into Global head – Retail Banking Rajan Pental.

    In his last assignment,  Kaushal was the CMO for PNB Metlife Insurance Co. Ltd (PMLI) and was responsible to develop and deliver business strategy and build a ‘Customer First’ culture. He is a seasoned marketing professional with over 22 years of rich experience in the financial services and automobile industry.

    Mumbai: Ed-tech startup PrepInsta has elevated Manish Agarwal to chief marketing officer’s position of the brand and also given him co-founder status. Manish was earlier heading the business development at the brand and will now also be managing marketing activities for the brand.

    The development follows the recent announcement of the brand to go aggressive with its expansion in terms of associations with universities and widen its user base.

    In his new role, Manish plans to go aggressive not just with the mainstream but also in regional communications. He aims at tapping the potential audience in Tier II of India for which he will be introducing vernacular communication in the marketing strategy. Additionally, his focus will be towards strong digital marketing to increase the traction on the platform.

    “Edtech space is growing at an unexpected pace, and amidst this it is very important to catch up with continuous innovation and ideas,” said Agarwal. “In India, the one who cuts a sustainable slice of Tier II might stand out for longer, therefore, there is a dire need for business development targets to stay in sync with marketing approach.     Manish has secured a BTech (ECE) from Vellore Institute of Technology. He started his professional career with Accenture as an ASE, working as MainFrames Developer for a reputed Insurance Client, post which he joined PrepInsta.

    Associated Broadcasting Company approves appointment of Barun Das as MD & CEO of TV9 Network

    Mumbai: The board of directors of Associated Broadcasting Company (ABCPL) has approved the appointment of Barun Das as managing director & CEO of TV9 Network with effect from 22 June.

    Das has been associated with TV9 Network since August 2019 and is currently serving as its CEO. Under his leadership, TV9 Network has achieved the distinction to become the undisputed number one news network in the country.

    He is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras, Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Kolkata and the London School of Economics (LSE). His last corporate assignment was as the CEO of Zee Media Limited where he worked for over five years.

    ABCPL has also approved the appointment of veteran journalist Hemant Sharma, as whole time director on the Board.

    Hemant Sharma, Ph.D. from BHU, who has been associated with TV9 Network since early 2019, will continue to supervise the editorial affairs of TV9 Bharatvarsh.

    Sharma is an award-winning journalist, author and academician. He has earlier worked in leadership roles across major print and television news brands including Jansatta, Hindustan, and India TV, among others. He also serves as Visiting Professor at Banaras Hindu University (BHU).

    These appointments are subject to AGM and other statutory clearances.

    Rao is a seasoned media and entertainment professional, with wide-ranging experience of two decades across television, film, and digital platforms.

    Sameer is a well-regarded senior Indian media and entertainment industry professional with strong expertise in conceptualization, development, and execution of original content. He has formerly worked at YouTube, STAR India, Discovery Communications, Vinod Chopra Films, and UTV Motion Pictures in managerial and leadership roles. Moreover, Sameer holds a PGDBM from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad.

    In the recent past, ABP Studios has shown tremendous potential with its co-produced and critically acclaimed Marathi feature film, “Karkhanisanchi Waari” (Ashes on a Road Trip) which has been streaming exclusively on SonyLiv.     Mumbai: Arup Roy has joined Network18 Group as business and product head of News18 Local.

    He will drive all aspects of business and work closely with editorial, technology and monetisation teams to accomplish the same.

The traction that this content is driving is also quite encouraging.     Roy has more than 17 years of experience building and managing diverse consumer-facing products. Prior to that, he was with Info Edge (Naukri.com) & Times Internet, where he was instrumental in building & managing multiple products in the entertainment and lifestyle space like ETimes, Times Food and Bombay Times Digital, among others. He completed his MBA from ENPC, France and has a Bachelor’s degree from IP University. He is a technology and automobile enthusiast.

    Roy lives in Delhi with his wife Aradhana, who is a yoga practitioner and teacher. She is currently building a Yoga-based start-up in the US remotely.

    Mumbai: Indian gold & silver refinery accredited by the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA), MMTC-PAMP announced the appointment of Amul Kumar Saha as its chief digital officer. In his new role, Saha will create and drive strategy to scale up presence and achieve market leadership in the fast-growing consumer space.
