    Publicis Worldwide India onboards Oindrila Roy as managing director

    Mumbai: Publicis Groupe has announced the appointment of Oindrila Roy as managing director at Publicis Worldwide, India. She will report to L&K Saatchi & Saatchi and Publicis Worldwide India CEO Paritosh Srivastava.

    A staunch proponent of using the power of data to arrive at communications solutions for business growth, Roy will work towards fostering rapid growth and benchmarking Publicis Worldwide as the agency of choice for brands and the industry, the agency said in a statement.

    Additionally, the appointment aims to dial up Publicis Worldwide India’s offerings and spectrum of expertise in the marketplace, with technology, experience, and data-fuelled creative solutions. Part of Publicis Groupe, Publicis Worldwide India works with clients such as Citibank, Zee, Heineken, Linen Club, Times Television Network, Enamor, HDFC Mutual Funds, and Kalpataru, among others.

    Over the past 20 years, Roy has held senior positions across organisations including JWT, Leo Burnett, Edelweiss, and Essence (Group M), where she worked across multiple industries such as BFSI, FMCG, beauty, e-commerce, ed-tech, and a whole host of direct-to-consumer brands.

    Paritosh Srivastava said, “Publicis Worldwide is the flagship agency network for the Groupe and India is a very critical market. Finding the right leader for PWW was quite a task.     Dabur’s Amit Burman steps down as chairman, to continue as a non-executive director

    MUMBAI: Amit Burman has resigned as the chairman of FMCG major Dabur India. Burman shall continue to be the non-executive director of the company, Dabur India announced in a regulatory filing. The company has accepted the resignation of Amit Burman from the post of chairman of the board of directors with effect from 10 August 2022.

    The board has also affirmed the appointment of Mohit Burman, who is currently the non-executive vice chairman, as the non-executive chairman of the board for five years with effect from 11 August. 

    Apart from this, Saket Burman has been appointed as the non-executive vice-Chairman of the board of directors for five years.

    Burman started his career at Dabur’s Industrial Engineering Department where he was responsible for the induction of machinery, method improvements, manpower reduction and improving product packaging. He took on the responsibilities as the CEO of Dabur Foods in 1999 and forayed into the processed foods business with a range of ethnic cooking pastes & chutneys and packaged fruit juices.

    Burman stepped down as the CEO of Dabur Foods when the company was merged into Dabur India in July 2007. He was then appointed the vice chairman of Dabur India. He took charge as the chairman of Dabur India in 2019. He is credited for Dabur India’s foray into the processed foods business with the setting up of Dabur Foods Ltd. He is also responsible for driving all business strategy, development and communications at Dabur Foods.

    An alumnus of the University of Cambridge, he also holds M.Sc degree in Industrial Engineering from Columbia University, USA and a B.Sc. degree in Industrial Engineering from Lehigh University, Bethlehem, PA, USA.

    Going into the second half of 2022, Langoor has aggressive plans of building a global presence and is in several conversations with clients to deliver enterprise, consumer and Web 3.0 experiences, said the agency in a statement. It also recently announced its partnership with Logicserve Digital to form an independent integrated digital marketing and transformation platform.

    Mumbai: US broadcaster NBC & the Television Academy have announced that actor, comedian, and producer Kenan Thompson will host the 74th Emmy Awards.

    The three-hour, coast-to-coast live telecast of the event from the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles is scheduled for 12 September 2022 on NBC. It will also be streamed live for the first time on Peacock.

    Thompson commented, “Being a part of this incredible evening where we honour the best of the television community is ridiculously exciting, and to do it on NBC—my longtime network family—makes it even more special. Like all TV fans, I can’t wait to see the stars from my favourite shows.”

    NBCUniversal television and streaming executive VP live events Jen Neal said, “Kenan is well-regarded as one of the funniest, likeable, and accomplished performers of the last two decades, and his tenure on Saturday Night Live speaks for itself. We know he’ll bring an excitement and professionalism to the Emmy Awards that a show of this stature deserves.”

    Thompson is best known for his work on Saturday Night Live. As the longest-running cast member of the late-night series, he will begin his 20th season this year.

    Mumbai: Home Credit India has announced the appointment of Ashish Tiwari as its chief marketing officer (CMO). This decision was made with the continued focus on omnichannel marketing, led by a digital-first approach.

    Ashish brings over two decades of rich experience across various sectors, He has been practising brand marketing, digital transformation, technology and data analytics.

    Prior to this, he was the chief marketing and digital officer of Generali India, where he was in charge of the company’s brand engagement, PR, and digital.

    As a brand communication and product/consumer marketing specialist, Ashish’s diverse industry experience includes stints with Hero Cycles where he led digital transformation across the Hero Group.

    With a specialisation in digital and social media from IIM Bangalore, Ashish has worked with some prominent brands, including HCL, Jubilant Group, and Vodafone.

    Mumbai: Sony Pictures Networks (SPN) advisor Rohit Gupta has made the decision to leave the organisation entirely. Gupta has worked for SPN since 2002.

    Indiantelevision.com received confirmation of the news from a Sony Picture Networks source.

    In July 2021, he assumed the advisory role and advised senior management on industry trends and developments. He was working closely with the CEO on various industry issues.

    Gupta was previously in charge of SPN’s revenue streams from sales and international business.

    He previously held key leadership positions with Xerox.

    Mumbai: JBL, an American-based audio electronics company owned by HARMAN, has chosen Grapes, a New Delhi-based integrated marketing agency, as its social media partner. The agency won the mandate following a multi-agency pitch.

    As per the mandate, Grapes will be responsible for the JBL’s social media strategy, planning, and execution. The agency will look after content creation and ORM, respectively, for the company.
