Set against the backdrop of 1990s New Delhi, this first-of-its-kind espionage drama has garnered critical acclaim at various prestigious film festivals worldwide. Adding to its growing list of accolades, ‘Berlin’ was also screened at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM 2024) on 17 Aug at Hoyts Cinema. Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Atul Sabharwal, ‘Berlin’ features a stellar ensemble cast including Aparshakti Khurana, Ishwak Singh, Rahul Bose, Anupriya Goenka, and Kabir Bedi.     ‘Berlin’ takes viewers into the icy winters of the 1990’s in Delhi, where a silent storm of espionage is brewing. The story revolves around three main characters whose lives are about to collide in unexpected ways. Ishwak Singh will be seen in an unusual yet challenging role – a deaf-mute young man accused of being a foreign spy. Aparshakti Khurana, stepping out of his comfort zone, will be seen as a sign language expert tasked with unlocking the secrets hidden in silence.     The Jury comprising prominent personalities selected the Beautiful Indians who have inspirational stories. These are ordinary people, celebrities, and content creators, who won the award in the People For Good, Creators For Good, and Special Awards categories. A jury includes Nigar Shaji – programme director, Low Earth & Planetary Platforms, ISRO; Amruta Subhash – National Award-winning actor; Bina Lashkari – co-founder and director of Door Step School; actor, producer and author Huma Qureshi; Ghazal & Varun Alagh – founders of Honasa Consumer Ltd. MamaEarth; and Ambika Muttoo, Editor-in-chief of Femina, had taken on the challenge of sorting through thousands of entries.

    Amongst the celebrations, the crowd cheered the highest when the Dhak Dhak girl Madhuri Dixit did her iconic step on the ghaghra song along with Tamannaah Bhatia and Ghazal Alagh. The latter also confessed to having started her acting career inspired by Madhuri Dixit. Furthermore, heartthrob Kartik Aaryan shook a leg on stage making the crowd go gaga over his song from his blockbuster movie along with Shilpa Shetty and Aparshakti Khurana.

    Among the recipients of the Special Awards, Tiger Shroff with his awe-inspiring action sequences, won the title of Youth Icon, while versatile actor and performer Siddhant Chaturvedi bagged the Rising Star award. Ananya Panday, who gave us a splendid performance in her recent release was declared the Standout Performer Of The Year (Female) while Kartik Aaryan received the Standout Performer Of The Year (Male) award for his performance in his latest movie.  Bobby Deol stole hearts as the Most Loved Star and his trending dance on the famous entry track in his superhit movie, while Madhuri Dixit held the spotlight as the Sensational Superstar. Tamannaah Bhatia won the title of Star in the Spotlight accolade. Entertaining us with his gimmicks, social media sensation Orry took home the award for Entertainer of the Year. Karisma Kapoor, renowned as the first Kapoor lady to make a career in films, was hailed as a trailblazer, while Manish Malhotra was honoured with the Fashion Visionary award. Sini Shetty, our dazzling Femina Miss India World 2022, was applauded for her Beauty For A Purpose. Versatile actor Shraddha Kapoor won the title as Fan Favorite, while Sobhita Dhulipala, always on top of her style game, took home the laurel for Fashion It girl.

    Mumbai: On 19 June 2022, Star Gold left everyone surprised by giving an unusual ad in the matrimonial section of two leading papers. It read, “Parents wanted urgently”. The matrimonial section of newspapers often carries ads that demand homely brides and grooms with hefty salaries and government jobs. Star Gold used the space for innovative marketing, to promote the world television premiere of “Hum Do Hamare Do”.

    The movie will have its world television premiere on Star Gold this Sunday at 8 pm.

    Per the ad posted by Star Gold, a man, who already has found his life partner, is searching for parents who are understanding and loving. The unusual ad is in sync with the story of Rajkumar Rao and Kriti Sanon starrer, “Hum Do Hamare Do”, which revolves around Dhruv and Anya. Dhruv is a self-made man whose life takes a major turn when he decides to engage an elderly man and a senior woman to fake being his parents in an attempt to fulfill his girlfriend’s wish of marrying someone with a family.

    Agreeing with the advertisement idea, actor Aparshakti Khurana said, “It’s not easy to grab readers’ attention as newspaper pages are filled with advertisements. I am sure this innovative ad by Star Gold must have stood out as it’s not every day that you get to read about a person searching for parents.”

    With three commercials, the campaign highlights how buying furniture is a family decision and how the furnishing brand has revolutionised the process with its digital presence. The brand hopes that the campaign helps capture the attention of its targeted consumers on a larger scale, said the statement.

    Sony Mix launches ‘Wow Weekend’ with VJ Aparshakti Khurana

    MUMBAI: The music channel from Multi Screen Media (MSM) stable Sony Mix will soon be seen in a new avatar, every weekend. Launching Wow Weekend, Sony Mix will not just have a peppier and refreshed look through the weekend, but will also bring VJs back to music channels.

     

    Starting 25 July, Sony Mix will play music to the tune of its viewers’ mood. “We aren’t trying to make any change. Wow Weekend is to maintain the promise that we always try and do something new in the space,” says Sony Max, Sony Max 2 and Sony Mix senior EVP and business head Neeraj Vyas.

     

    According to Vyas, the mood and personality of the viewer is a bit relaxed over the weekend. “Our promise for the weekend is that viewers will see more melody and musicality along with fun and entertainment over the weekend. Through this new initiative, we are giving viewers a chance to look at music channels in a different way,” he adds.

     

    The channel, as part of Wow Weekend, has roped in Aparshakti Khurana as the VJ. “He will be the conduit over the weekend. He will come through the day sporadically,” informs Vyas.

     

    Vyas is of the opinion that VJs played a very important role in the initial days of music channels. “But, somehow it became too much and so the whole concept got diluted to the extent that no music channel has a VJ today,” he says.

     

    Khurana will be seen giving film and music reviews, trivia about yesteryears and today’s music as well as incidences behind today’s music. “A VJ, according to me, is a musical person himself, feels close to the music that the channel plays and is endearing as a personality. We screen tested a lot of people, but Khurana ticked all the boxes,” informs Vyas.

     

    The channel is also launching a new show called Baaton Baaton Mein with RJ Anmol, which will be aired every Saturday with a repeat on Sunday. “The show is a star’s journey into films, but through music,” says Vyas.

     

    The second season of Jam Room will also make a comeback with present generation voices revisiting old melodies.

     

    Sony Mix has created a 40 second track to popularize the Wow Weekendconcept. While the entire MSM network is being used to market the new property, there will be newspaper ads on 25 and 26 July to inform people about the same.
