  • DGM India appoints Himanshu Nagrecha as national sales head

    MUMBAI: DGM, a performance marketing network, has appointed Himanshu Nagrecha as the national sales head for all its businesses.
    Nagrecha joins DGM from Mediamind where he was vice president-sales, India and MENA regions.

    DGM India recently forayed into brand advertising space after the launch of dgMatix in July 2012. In 2013, DGM plans to scale up its performance and brand advertising business and foray into selected overseas markets.

    DGM India MD Anurag Gupta said, “Currently, DGM‘s business is at an interesting juncture, with our performance business scaling up and dgMatix getting a great response and gaining traction in the market. Himanshu‘s association with DGM is the perfect impetus to our expansion plans.     Nagrecha has 11 years experience in media sales with over six years experience in the digital space. In his 11-year career, he has been associated with organisations like Mediamind, NDTV Media, Yahoo! India, Hindustan Times and Tata Infomedia.

    Ekta Kapoor sets up Delhi campus of ICE

    MUMBAI: Ekta Kapoor has launched the campus of her media school Institute of Creative Excellence (ICE) at South Extension Delhi today. The school is headquartered in Mumbai.

    Setting up an institute in the national capital stems from the belief of Kapoor for creating a benchmark in the field of education and to bequeath power to the dreams of young aspirants whilst imparting the right kind of knowledge.

    Nestled in the heart of Delhi, the Institute promises to give to its student’s world-class education accumulated with wisdom to shine as the future stars of the industry. The ICE Delhi facility initially will conduct training of acting, modeling, animation and VFX, dance and young filmmaker program for Kids in the South Extension area.

    In addition, the Delhi unit of ICE, which happens to be the Regional office of the media school for North Zone, will continue to market and send shortlisted students for other major specialisations such as cinematography, direction, editing, production, scriptwriting, sound recording etc to Mumbai. Students of ICE will have the flexibility of learning as per their convenience as various courses would be available in two modes (full time and part time).

    Talking about expanding in Delhi, joint managing director of Balaji Telefilms and Member of ICE Academic Council Kapoor said: “There is plenty of talent in our country today and it just needs to handpicked and channelised correctly. I want to reach out to masses from all over our country and provide them with the right kind of expertise that will help them go a long way. Looking at the kind and amount of talent that comes from Delhi, we felt it was best we set up an institute in their home city.     Tyroo acquires Anurag Gupta’s DGM India

    MUMBAI: Tyroo, the digital media company of SVG has acquired Anurag Gupta-founded DGM India. Gupta will remain with the company as MD post acquisition.

    Tyroo said that the acquisition will help the company to increase its network. It wants to become India‘s largest digital media company, after Google India, by next year.

    Tyroo founder Manish Vij said, “DGM is a company with over 5 years of performance leadership, a world class proprietary technology and management. We are excited to bring them as part of the Tyroo / SVG family. With this acquisition there will be clearly a media network that can give advertisers scale and quality. For publishers it will be the only place to have almost every running campaign in Indian digital media.”

    DGM India founder, promoter and MD Gupta added, “I am excited to take DGM India along with India‘s largest digital media group. DGM India has a superb team, technology and leadership in the performance business. DGM is on a very fast growth rate and will end the year with $5-6 million annual revenue. We are launching other DGM Products in market very soon and enhancing our technology.”

    Both the companies will continue to run separately. Gupta will continue to be the MD of DGM and Tyroo Direct, Tyroo‘s performance network arm, will be continued to be headed by Siddharth Puri.

    SVG is a joint venture of Vij‘s Vun Network and Harish Bahl‘s Smile Group. It is one of the digital media groups in country with companies such as Tyroo, SeventyNine (the mobile network), Zoomtra and Quasar.
