    First look of Paranthe Wali Gali released

    MUMBAI: Director Sachin Gupta, who has proved his mettle in the theatre world, wanted to zoom in on the like of the Delhi Streets, and nothing could have been better than naming Paranthe Waali Gali. The film that was announced earlier this year, is ready to be released in January.

     

    However, the first look of the film that stars Anuj Saxena and debutant Neha, was released today.

     

    The story of the feature film Paranthe Wali Gali starts from the famous and popular lane in Delhi and then moves into the lives of the characters living there. This film can be considered the story of unsung love that blossoms in very famous lane of paranthe in Old Delhi, and deals with affair of emotions and caring between the couple. Set in the backdrop of theatre, it is about their journey giving inroads into life in theater.  A romantic comedy, it also has various other dimensions. It is a sensitive film of dreams, success, failure and relation. It is something that everybody who dreams, can relate to.

     

    The film is trying to touch parts of Old Delhi from Dariba Kalan to Kinari Bazaar and Khari Bawri – places that have not been explored till now. It is a place of much nostalgia for many people. The name itself has romantic foodie connotations. As an allegory to life, one can fantasize about plates of steamy, crispy, puffed up Paranthas, drowning in lots of gooey, yummy ghee, stuffed with an array of vegetables and meats.

    MUMBAI: The 52nd Fair One Filmfare Awards for excellence in Hindi cinema will be held on 24 February. Filmfare announced the nominations for the popular awards categories.

    The awards event which started in 1954 has been a public event with performances by the stars until now. This year World Wide Media, the company which owns the title decided to make the event a black tie affair taking off from the Oscars. This year the annual awards night will be held at an indoor venue exclusively for the film fraternity.

    Speaking about the awards WWM CEO Devashish Sarkar said, “The event will be a black tie event held along the lines of the Oscars for the film fraternity. The dance and musical entertainment will be pre-recorded for the TV audience. This twin format will allow both the film fraternity and our film fans to enjoy the evening in the manner they ought to.”

    Commenting on the second year of its association with the awards, Elder Pharma director Dr. Anuj Saxena said, “Elder is proud to continue its association with the Filmfare Awards for yet another year. The Fair One Filmfare Awards function is to be very different than in the past – but yet equally spectacular.     The Awards will be telecast on Sony television on 25 February at 7:30 pm. Speaking about the Awards, SET India Pvt.     Television actor Anuj Saxena on his way to the International Emmy Awards

    MUMBAI: TV actor and producer Anuj Saxena has reasons to smile. He along with filmmaker and producer Subhash Ghai, will be the juror for the 34th International Emmy Awards.

    As a juror Anuj will be judging the category of Best Performance by an Actor for the final round of judging. He will be judging 8 entries for this category.

    This is the first time that Anuj will be a juror for the Emmy Awards. Elated by the news, he said, “It’s an honour to be a part of Emmys. I mean there cannot be anything bigger than this as far as international television goes. I mean if you compare the worldover there would be so many deserving candidates. Also on a personal level it will also be a learning experience to watch shows from across the world.”

    “I hope to definitely benefit from being as a juror for the Emmies, both as an actor and as a producer. Afterall, the attempt is to match our programming worldclass,” added Anuj.

    Subhash Ghai is judging the Television Movie/Mini Series category for the finale. This is the second consecutive year that the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has invited Subhash Ghai to be the juror for the Emmys.

    The jury panel consists of television, producers, directors, performers, and executives from around the world to honour the best in international television production. The International Emmy Award is known worldwide for honoring excellence in programming produced outside the United States.

    The award function, popularly called as, the 34th International Emmy Awards gala will be held this year on 20 November in New York City.
