    MUMBAI: Global content creator, producer and distributor Endemol Shine Group today announced a multi-territory content partnership with Plex, the global streaming media company that brings your favourite content together in the highest-rated OTT video app.

    The agreement includes a raft of programming from Endemol Shine Group’s extensive library, which will be available for Plex users across the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, France, Italy and Spain.

    TLC to air new season of ‘The Taste’

    MUMBAI: TLC is all set to air the new season of The Taste from 11 May onwards. The show will be aired on Mondays and Tuesdays at 9 pm.  

     

    The competition gets hotter as Chef Marcus Samuelsson joins Nigella Lawson, Anthony Bourdain and Ludo Lefebvre at the judging table to select Britain’s best cook.

     

    The four culinary superstars and The Taste mentors will each coach a team of four competing pro and amateur cooks chosen from a casting call, as they vie to create the best tasting dish in a state of the art kitchen. Each week the groups will face team and individual challenges with a variety of culinary themes through several elimination rounds.

     

    At the end of each episode of The Taste, the mentors will have to judge the competitors’ dishes blindfolded, with no knowledge of whose creation they’re sampling, what they’re eating, how it was prepared or whom they could be sending home.

    TLC to launch new series – ‘The Taste’

    MUMBAI: Lifestyle channel from Discovery Network’s stable, TLC is all set to air a culinary battle between food writer and television presenter Nigella Lawson, chef and television personality Anthony Bourdain and chef Ludo Lefebvre in the new series The Taste. Starting 2 March, the show will be aired every Monday and Tuesday at 9 pm.

     

    The show will feature 12 competitors from varied backgrounds, cooking dishes in an attempt to impress the three chefs. Three teams of four aspiring chefs are mentored by the trio, where they take on each other to survive the extreme fight to be the first winner of The Taste.

    All the dishes will be judged in a blind taste test. Each episode will witness the collision of fiery challenges, blind-taste eliminations and simmering egos which are cooked up as the contestants’ battle it out to please the palates of the mentors.

    MUMBAI: Going with its ‘youngest lifestyle channel’ image, NDTV Good Times is launching a 11-part food reality television series, Adam Richman’s Best Sandwich in America.

     

    Hosted by actor and food enthusiast Adam Richman, the show is a quest to find the best sandwich in America. In each episode, one region of the country will sample its top three sandwiches and the host will choose the best among them to represent the region in the ‘National Championship’. The best sandwich will be chosen on the basis of its B.I.T.E Scale (Bread, Interior, Taste and Eating Experience).

     

    Talking about the new show, NDTV Good Times channel head Arati Singh said, “NDTV Good Times is always trying to bring new and interesting programming on the channel and while Adam Richman is exploring in the west, the Indian audience has a long standing love affair with sandwiches whether it is Pau Bhaji, Dabeli or Bun Samosa’s. So we feel that the combination of a great host who is looking for the best sandwich will make for relatable content that is a must watch.”

     

    Produced by Sharp Entertainment, the show will have 10 half an hour episodes, while the finale will be a one hour long episode.

     

    “On a lifestyle channel food programming works well and we run a Food band at 9:00 pm. The show has been selected as a part of that band,” the channel head added explaining why they are launching the show at a primetime slot.

     

    The best sandwich from every episode will compete against each other in the final episode of the show to find ‘America’s No. 1 sandwich.’ Adam will also be seen taking recommendations from singer/song writer Will Hoge, world traveller Anthony Bourdain, MLB player Curtis Granderson, Hollywood actor Jay Baruchel, renowned chef Andrew Zimmern and television host Samantha Brown among others, in deciding the best sandwich in America.

     

    In the series, sandwiches will be chosen from regions across the South, Northeast, Gulf Coast, Midwest, Mid Atlantic, Northwest, West Coast, Great Lakes, South West and New England.

     

    Starting 13 September, the show will be aired every Saturday at 9: 30 pm.

The one-hour lifestyle series follows host Anthony Bourdain- world-renowned chef, bestselling author and Emmy winning television personality- as he travels across the globe to uncover little-known areas of the world and celebrate diverse cultures by exploring food and dining rituals.

    The CNN Original Series Anthony Bourdain Parts Unknown, will begin its second season of eight episodes on September 16, and will explore the food, culture and history of parts unknown within Spain, New Mexico, Israel, Copenhagen, Sicily, Detroit, Tokyo and India.

    MUMBAI: Travel and Lifestyle channel is launching a latest international show- The Taste.

    Fox Traveller is teaming, for the first-time ever, with internationally acclaimed culinary geniuses – Anthony Bourdain, Nigella Lawson, Brian Malarkey and Ludo Lefebvre who will get down to what truly matters, the way the food tastes!

    The show will feature the chefs who will in return select 16 contestants – both amateur and professional cooks – by tasting just one spoonful of their food while they are blindfold. The judges then mentor their team of four contestants, but the blind tasting continues, meaning a judge may unwittingly vote off their own team member.

    Elaborating on FOX Traveller’s decision to bring ‘The Taste’ to India, Fox International Channels vice president marketing Debarpita Banerjee said, “We continue to introduce different twists and perspectives to travel, food and lifestyle.     Anthony Bourdain joins CNN, to host weekend show in 2013

    MUMBAI: Chef, author and television personality Anthony Bourdain who has been seen in India on shows on channels like TLC, will join news broadcaster CNN as host of a new weekend programme, creating a signature showcase for the network’s coverage of food and travel.

    The show airs early next year.

    CNN Worldwide executive VP, managing editor Mark Whitaker.said, “For more than a decade, nthony Bourdain has been a trailblazer in educating Americans about different cuisines and cultures around the world, as well as an outspoken commentator on social trends ranging from the rise of celebrity chefs to the impact of fast food chains to the spread of vegetarianism and veganism. Examining the world through the prism of Tony’s unique expertise and passions continues CNN’s long-standing commitment to international reporting and to promoting global understanding.”

    Slated to air domestically on Sundays in prime time with repeat airings on Saturday nights, it will mark a further step in broadening and distinguishing CNN’s weekend programming from its traditional weekday news coverage. The show will be shot on location and examine cultures from around the world through their food and dining and travel rituals.

    The series will be produced by Zero Point Zero Production with executive producers and founders Chris Collins and Lydia Tenaglia, along with executive producer Sandy Zweig.

    Zero Point Zero Production has been working with Anthony Bourdain for over a decade, producing ‘Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations‘, ‘The Layover‘, ‘A Cook‘s Tour‘, and ‘Decoding Ferran Adria‘.

    Bourdain, whose reporting has taken him from the culinary capitals of Europe, Asia and North and South America to such historically war-torn or isolated regions as Vietnam, Mozambique, Uzbekistan and Romania, will also offer commentary on other CNN programs and platforms, domestically and internationally, providing insights into current events and debates around food and health and other cultural conversations.

    He said, “I’m really looking forward to coming over to CNN. I think the world is going to get a whole lot bigger for me. I hope that old fans and new ones will be excited about what’s coming down the road.”

    Bourdain has been the host of the Travel Channel series ‘Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations‘ since 2005. He previously hosted ‘A Cook’s Tour‘ on the Food Network and has appeared on US cable network Bravo’s competition series ‘Top Chef‘ and written for HBO’s New Orleans-based drama ‘Treme‘.

    Bourdain is also the author of non-fiction and fiction books, including ‘Kitchen Confidential‘ and ‘A Cook’s Tour‘. He now oversees his own line of books from Ecco, a division of HarperCollins, the first three of which are scheduled to be released in 2013.

    MUMBAI: The gastronomic Indiana Jones comes to India. This May, Discovery Travel & Living’s premieres the Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations series. Not for the faint hearted, Bourdain’s travel experiences — the good, the bad and the ugly — are presented as he travels the world with his peculiar, raw and unfiltered edge. It will air from 1 to 5 May at 9 pm.

    Bourdain is a best-selling author, reluctant food celebrity, fearless traveler, culinary adventurer whose no holds barred point of view will always reflect that experience. He is known for travelling the world seeking the authentic experiences and food that flavour the world’s cultures.

    “This is not a food show — it’s about people, cultures and places as seen through the eyes of a chef and the prism of food,” says Discovery Networks India VP- Lifestyle Aditya Tripathi.

    Apart from being positive for the restaurant business, Bourdain says the series has helped people become more educated and adventurous when it comes to food. Says Bourdain. “Food is maybe the fastest, easiest and best way ‘in’ to an unfamiliar place and culture. Once you’ve sat down with people and eaten their food, their whole world opens up to you in ways that wouldn’t ordinarily happen. Food, after all, is the purest expression of a country, of a culture, a region and a personality.”

    Anthony Bourdain was quoted in a media report on the title, No Reservations as saying,”It means that there are things I want to do, there are things I want to see, there are things I want to experience before the time that I can’t do those things. No reservations, meaning we’re going all the way, baby. No fear. My whole life, cooking has been about control. Traveling and eating are about letting things happen.”

    Bourdain is now executive chef at Brasserie Les Halles, NYC. He is the author of two novels, Gone Bamboo and Bone in the Throat and his first non-fiction work, Kitchen Confidential takes the reader into the kitchens to reveal the seamy side of the hospitality industry.
