    Zee’s ‘Ravan’ to get spicier as Interactive Realities Intl. partners production studio

    MUMBAI: Films and Shorts the production house for Zee TV’s latest mythological series Ravan has roped in Mumbai based Interactive Realities International Pvt. Ltd. (IRIPL) with the aim to spice up the visual effects on its show and infuse international quality visual and special effects into the serial. Interactive Realities has recently created the illusion of Ravan’s ten heads for the serial.

    Announcing the association, Interactive realities head business development Santy Mendes said “Zee TV’s Ravan offers us a great platform to showcase our work to a wide audience. Our Special Effects Division is backed by state-of-the-art technology, rich experience and in-house expertise to generate international quality motion picture graphics. The use of realistic special effects will help create a true to life and visually delightful experience for the viewers of Ravan.”

    “We have finished work on creating the visual illusion of Ravan’s ten heads, which is actually an effect created by the reflections from a many-faced gemstone on Ravan’s necklace and are currently working on the visual effect requirements of the young Ravan.” added Mendes.

    Film and Shorts producer Gulshan Sachdeva said, “We were really impressed with the kind of work done by Interactive Realities and immediately realized the value they would add to Ravan. Special Effects are a very important element of mythological shows such as Ravan and the quality of work that the Interactive Realities team has demonstrated is world class. All episodes of Ravan will now have the visual and special effects as created by Interactive Realities.”

    In addition to Ravan, Interactive Realities also provides design and animation services for Antariksh a weekly serial on Star Plus. However, this show will soon be taken off the channel.

    MUMBAI: Star Plus, which surprised many by inducting the supernatural genre in its crucial weekday prime time band, is at it again.

    After launching Antariksh in the Monday – Thursday 8 pm band, the channel has now slotted a kids show Lucky in its Saturday 8 pm slot.

    “After launching Antariksh in the weekday 8 pm primetime slot, we are now excited to offer yet another show on the same timeslot on Saturdays for our younger viewers. Lucky is an out and out adventure story packaged with a heavy dose of fun and entertainment. The effort is to rope in the kids group, which has now become a key TV viewing segment,” states Star India EVP Deepak Segal.

    Produced by Sagar Arts Productions, Lucky is is directed by Nisser Parvej and the cast includes Lucky played by Gautam Rhode; Inder Mohan Sharma played by Gyan Prakash Sharma; captain Paswan played by Banwarilal Jhol & AJ i.e. Acharya Joshi played by Anang Desai, as per an official release.

    It’s a story about a young man – Lucky, who runs a fake antique shop in Chor Bazaar and has the simplest ways of living, that is conning people by selling them fake antiques and actually making them believe, that the artifacts are genuine. Lucky is a street smart, confident and intelligent character, who loves life the way it comes until he gets to know about the Rakshak’s who were born for protecting sacred and priceless treasures and that now he is going to be the chosen one: the fifth Rakshak, the release adds.

    As Lucky is awaiting its launch, Star Plus is keenly looking forward to the Tam numbers that Antariksh would throw up in its opening week. And the anxiety is justified as the supernatural show counters Zee TV’s 8 pm soap Banoo Main Teri Dulhann.

    Star Plus invokes superheroes in fight for 8 pm slot

    MUMBAI: In a strategic U-Turn, Star Plus has replaced its 8 pm tale of re-birth and love Pyaar Ke Do Naam – Ek Raadha Ek Shyaam with a futuristic science fiction drama Antariksh.

    The game plan has the channel eyeing kids and housewives to fight the Zee TV soap airing in the same slot, Banoo Main Teri Dulhann.

    “Our focus group discussions reveal that the majority of housewives turn to TV in a serious manner only post 8:30 pm. We have also found that kids are generally glued to television till 8:30 pm. So, with Antariksh, we are targeting both these audience groups. We hope that, the upcoming Diwali holiday season will help the show to attain a strong opening,” states Star India EVP Deepak Segal.

    Antariksh is launching on 2 October. Star Plus’ last attempt on the kids genre was with the weekend prime time show Haatim, produced by Sagar Arts. Haatim ran on the channel for 50 episodes. An official release assures that “Antariksh is not just kid’s programming, since it is inspired by the Ramayana.”

    Antariksh, is an adventurous action-fiction of various events that will shape the destiny of the indomitable and courageous Prince Amar, as he fights the ultimate evil, Rankaal, in his quest to save humanity. It is the fight between good versus evil (Amar versus Rankaal). The story is a war of the titans which is fought with hi tech gadgets and amazing weapons, the release further informs.

    The series is produced by Ashim Samanta and Jyotin Goel from Wild Fire Entertainment. The special effects and animation part of Antariksh is handled by Jyoti Sagar from Sagar Arts Productions and Prasad Ajgaonkar from Interactive Realities Ltd.

    Star Plus changes 8 pm tactic; brings in sci-fi series ‘Antariksh’

    MUMBAI: Hindi general entertainment space will soon witness an interesting contest between soap operas and a sci-fi series, as Star Plus has announced the launch its first ever sci-fi series Antariksh.

    The show, scheduled to launch on 2 October, has been positioned in the crucial Monday – Thursday 8 pm slot.

    Produced by the duo of Ashim Samanta and Jyotin Goel from Wild Fire Entertainment, the concept of the show is designed to interest the younger viewers on the prime-time band. Antariksh, which is set in a modern jet-set atmosphere, will draw its inspiration from the Indian mythology of Ramayana, as the story’s basic premise is that of a war between good versus evil, as per an official release.

    States Star India EVP Deepak Segal, “Aimed at our younger viewers, Antariksh, is a revolutionary mix of utopian vision of justice and prosperity, which we are launching exclusively in the weekday prime-time band, for our younger viewers. It’s a story full of new-age imagination that will see the use of hi-fi gadgets, which is sure to create a cult amongst them.”

    “With our already established, unmatched leadership in this genre, we are hopeful this show of space-age heroism will prove to be a treat for all the sci-fans, and consequently help us in further consolidating the prime-time slot on the channel,” Segal adds.

    Antariksh will be an action tale, of fictitious and imaginative characters living in space. This animated drama will be packaged with intense creativity coupled with heavy-duty computer generated graphics and illustrations, by Jyoti Sagar from Sagar Arts Productions and Prasad Ajgaonkar from Interactive Realities Ltd, the release claims.
