    Dsport to broadcast ‘British Open’ live for viewers in India

    MUMBAI: Dsport will broadcast the 147th edition of the much awaited ‘British Open’ live in India. The tournament will commence from 19 July 2018 at the Carnoustie Golf Course, Scotland.

    The British Open 2018 will once again see a strong line-up of marquee golfers competing to become the ‘Champion Golfer of the Year’ and lift the iconic Claret Jug. The likes of Dustin Johnson, Rickie Fowler, Patrick Reed, Rory McIlroy, Tommy Fleetwood, Kevin Chappel, Tiger Woods, Anirban Lahiri along with defending champion Jordan Speith will fight for a handsome prize purse of $10.8 million out of which $1.89 million will be the winner’s share.

    The prestigious championship will be from 19 -22 July 2017 at 7 pm.

    The British Open also known as the Open Championship is one of the four major championships in Golf.

  • DSport acquires PGA Championship’s long-term telecast rights

    MUMBAI: DSport, a premium sports TV channel by Discovery Communications India, has acquired long term India broadcast rights of the PGA Championships, Golf’s fourth and year-ending Major.

    The 99th PGA Championships is set to be held at the Quail Hollow Club in North Carolina, which will host a Golf Major for the very first time, between 10 and 13 August, 2017. The club holds an annual event on the PGA Tour, the Wells Fargo Championship, besides having hosted several pro-events.

    A total of 156 golfers, including India’s Anirban Lahiri are set to tee-off at Quail Hollow on Thursday, August 10 as they look to make the weekend cut. Anirban Lahiri, registered his best ever finish (5th) at a Major, which is also incidentally the best ever finish by an Indian at a Major, at these Championships, when it was played at Whistling Straits, Wisconsin, back in 2015.

    The Live and Exclusive broadcast will be in two phases across the four days of The Open.

  • DSport acquires exclusive India broadcast rights of ‘The Open’

    MUMBAI: DSport has acquired long-term India broadcast rights of ‘The Open’, Golf’s oldest and most prestigious tournament.

    ‘The Open’ is one of the four major championships in professional golf. DSport will telecast live The 146th Open, set to get underway on 20 July 2017, at the Royal Birkdale Golf Club in Southport, England. Indian stars Anirban Lahiri and Shiv Kapur will be among several legends and other top stars of world golf, trying to lay their hands on the coveted Claret Jug.
