    Snapdeal names Amit Maheshwari as Exclusively CEO

    MUMBAI: Close on the heels of appointing Animesh Sharma as the chief technology officer of Exclusively, Snapdeal has now roped in Amit Maheshwari as CEO of the online premium fashion destination, which it acquired in February 2015.

     

    Maheshwari, who earlier held the position of senior vice president of fashion at Snapdeal, was instrumental in growing the fashion and lifestyle category into one of the most successful businesses, which is well on-course to become a $2 billion business within the current year.

     

    His appointment as the CEO of Exclusively, is part of Snapdeal’s efforts to build Exclusively as India’s largest premium fashion destination.

     

    Snapdeal co-founder and CEO, Kunal Bahl said, “Amit has been a core member of Snapdeal’s leadership team and the driving force behind the exceptional successes of our fashion business. As we create India’s most impactful digital commerce ecosystem, it is important to stay agile and move ahead with assured pace.     MUMBAI: Snapdeal.com has entered into a partnership with retail intelligence organization Images Group to present the three-day annual mega annual congregation of the India Fashion Forum (IFF) 2015 from 18 – 20 March at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Goregaon, Mumbai.

     

    India Fashion Forum is in its 15th year of operations and offers a great platform for exchanging knowledge, insights and discussing future trends within the right networks of fashion and aligned sectors. Fashion already accounts for over 70 per cent of orders volume at Snapdeal.com and the company has robust business plans to strengthen this category further. Recent acquisition of Exclusively.com was one such step in this direction and Snapdeal.com aims to reach the $2 billion GMV mark in the fashion category by this year.

    MUMBAI: E-commerce portal Snapdeal.com, has tied up with Harry Baweja’s latest production Chaar Sahibzaade.

    An animated film, Chaar Sahibzaade revolves around the Sikh Guru – Guru Gobind Singh and his sons. Paying tribute to the movie, the e-tailer will present an exclusive collection of interesting collectibles for fans. These include Kirpans, swords, art work, and armor sets replete with bow and arrow etc reminding audiences of Sikh heritage.

     Speaking on the occasion producer Harry Baweja said, “Chaar Sahibzaade is a movie that would give you a hangover of the rich heritage and culture that is imbibed in the Indian minds. The collection on Snapdeal.com is something that parents would feel proud to own and also buy for their kids to educate them and engrave rich Indian values.”

     The film will also features the portal. With this tie-up the brand will strengthen its antiques and collectibles segment, which has the maximum potential in the ‘hobbies’ category. In the past, the brand has associated with a number of production houses and movies such as- Transformers, Ninja Turtles and Spiderman.

    Talking about this initiative, Snapdeal.com vice president fashion Amit Maheshwari said, “We are constantly building on our existing categories as well as developing new segments, to provide consumers with a variety of choices.”
