    ‘Where are the Elephants?’ – Prime Video creates intrigue around missing elephants

    Mumbai: Set amidst the lush forests of Kerala and the concrete jungle of Delhi, the Amazon Original series, Poacher is an eye-opening eco-thriller currently streaming on Prime Video. Masterfully crafted by Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Richie Mehta, the series is based on true events and unearths the investigation into India’s largest ivory-poaching syndicate in 2015, serving as a poignant reminder of the plight of our majestic elephants.

    Over the weekend, social media buzzed with concern over the sudden disappearance of elephants from the logos of noted brands like The Times of India and the Flying Elephant restaurant at the Park Hyatt, Chennai. What followed was over 30  brands chiming in and joining the conversation, urging consumers to speak up for elephants before they disappear.

    In a bold and unified effort to ignite conversation and raise awareness about poaching, several brands, including Asian Paints, Make My Trip, Dabur, The Bombay Store, Spice Jet, Shaadi.com, Rapido, BoAt and many others, joined forces with Prime Video. Together, they resoundingly amplified the urgent message of Poacher, presenting a united front against the critical threat to these majestic beings.

    While Make My Trip spoke about responsible travelling and how our jungles are sacred and incomplete without elephants, Asian Paints went one step further by sharing an ivory shade card, stating that inspiration can come home in ways other than poaching. Education brand, Unacademy chimed in, sharing that the world and childhood without ‘e for elephant’ are incomplete. Dental brand Toothsi joined the conversation by sharing that elephants’ smiles are worth protecting, just like ours! Dabur Hajmola added that poaching is something the brand could never digest. While Rapido also took a quirky route to condemn poaching, by adding a drop location where one could find Elephants. While BoAt reminded its followers that haathi is our saathi.

    Mumbai: In its debut season, The Wheel of Time journeyed to a world where magic and destiny come together for an engaging fantasy drama. The Amazon Original series introduced viewers to a group of young villagers whose lives changed changed when a formidable sorceress, Moiraine (played by Rosamund Pike) arrived, bringing along with her chaos as she and the relentlessly hunted for the elusive Dragon Reborn, a figure of immense power and destiny. As we eagerly await the upcoming season, here’s a quick recap of all that went down in season one!

    Introduction to a world of magic and destiny

    The season began with the arrival of Moiraine Sedai (Rosamund Pike) and her Warder (magically linked bodyguard) Lan Mandragoran (Daniel Henney) in the peaceful village of Emond’s Field. They’re on a mission to find the Dragon Reborn, a prophesied individual who could either save the world or bring its destruction.

    Trolloc attack and the flight from Emond’s field

    Chaos erupts as Trollocs, monstrous creatures serving the dark one, attack Emond’s dield. Moiraine identifies Rand al’Thor (Josha Stradowski), Mat Cauthon (Barney Harris), Perrin Aybara (Marcus Rutherford), Egwene al’Vere (Madeleine Madden), and Nynaeve al’Meara (Zoë Robins) as individuals connected to the prophecy. The friends, along with the wisdom Nynaeve, flee as Dark friends pursue them. The thrilling chase is what catapults the story forward, engaging the fans in an exciting journey.

    Journey and self-discovery

    The group embarks on a treacherous journey to the city of Baerlon, facing dangers like Whitecloaks and Shadar Logoth. Along the way, Rand channels the One Power, Nynaeve exhibits strong channeling abilities, Mat becomes affected by a cursed dagger, and Perrin grapples with his connection to wolves. Egwene’s potential as an Aes Sedai is hinted at, and brings forth potential mysteries for the characters.

    The Quest for the Eye of the World

    The group’s journey leads them to the Green Man, guardian of the Eye of the World. He sacrifices himself to protect the Eye from forces of darkness. In a climactic showdown, they confront the Forsaken Aginor and Balthamel. Rand inadvertently channels immense power, and the Forsaken are defeated as the Eye is sealed. Rand’s confession to Egwene about his channeling marks a pivotal moment of vulnerability.

    Embracing destiny and setting the stage

    As the season concludes, the friends find the Dragon Banner in Fal Dara, revealing Rand’s acceptance of his role as the Dragon Reborn. The Horn of Valere is discovered, hinting at greater battles to come. The group’s unity grows stronger as they face their intertwined destinies and prepare to confront the challenges that lie ahead.

    Based on the best-selling Robert Jordan fantasy series, the second season of The Wheel of Time is slated to premiere on 1 September. Building upon the foundation of the first season, the new installment promises even more exciting twists and revelations.     Amazon Prime Video signs multi-year licensing agreement with Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment

    Mumbai: Amazon Prime Video on Monday announced a worldwide-exclusive, multi-film licensing collaboration with Sajid Nadiadwala’s Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment (NGE). This collaboration will bring the biggest and best of Bollywood movies to audiences across the length and breadth of the country and to fans in over 240+ countries and territories.

    As part of the association, the streaming service will be the worldwide home to NGE’s upcoming slate of movies, soon after their theatrical launch. NGE’s movie slate includes many much-anticipated titles such as “Bawaal”, “Sanki”, “Baaghi 4”, Kartik Aaryan’s untitled project, among others and promises to bring Sajid Nadiadwala’s trade-mark larger-than-life, immersive cinema to viewers across the globe, on a screen of their choice.

    The films, post their theatrical release, will be available on Amazon Prime Video for all Prime members. Additionally, the films will also be available ‘to-rent’ on Amazon Prime Video for all Amazon customers (Prime or otherwise) in the ‘Early Access Rental’ window.

    These films will feature some of Bollywood’s most popular, as well as, versatile talent, including Varun Dhawan, Tiger Shroff, Kartik Aaryan, Ahan Shetty and many more.     MUMBAI: Marking the launch of much-awaited Amazon Original Series The Forgotten Army – Azaadi Ke Liye, Prime Video successfully created a Guinness World Record for The Largest Indian Cinematic Music Band with an iconic live performance of the show’s album. The evening saw 1000 musicians from across the country coming together to perform songs from the series’ album, composed by Pritam. The operatic musical recital served as a prelude, as the country gears up to celebrate its 70th Republic Day.

    Gaurav Gandhi, Director and Country General Manager, Amazon Prime Video India, said, “The Amazon Original Series The Forgotten Army – Azaadi Ke Liye, its music album and this live musical evening is our humble tribute to the Azad Hind Fauj.     MUMBAI: As 2019 comes to an end, Amazon Prime Video releases its yearly report card on the most loved and binged shows on its platform.  The OTT platform, this year launched multiple Amazon Original series like Made in Heaven, Four More Shots Please, One Mic Stand and The Family Man.

    With Manoj Bajpai’s digital debut on OTT platform, The Family Man became the most-watched Amazon Original in India to date, a press statement said. Similarly, other Indian Originals – Four More Shots Please!, Made In Heaven were among the most-watched shows in India in 2019.

    In the international category, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan returned to Prime Video for its second season was most loved one by the members and had the biggest global premiere of any original.

    In its year-ender press statement, the digital platform said, “Prime Video India is now watched across the length and breadth of the country in more than 4,000 towns and cities of India.”

    Meanwhile, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel became the most awarded Amazon Original series ever with a total of 16 Emmys, 3 Golden Globes, 5 Critics Choice and 3 SAG Awards in 2019.

    ‘The Report’ had the biggest global premiere of any Amazon Original movie this year, the statement mentioned.

    Besides English, Prime Video is now available in 9 Indian languages Indian languages viz. Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Punjabi and Bengali.

    Similarly, the platform mentions that significant selection of Prime Video content now features show descriptions and subtitles in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages.

    MUMBAI: The highly anticipated drama-thriller, The Family Man, became the first ever Indian Amazon Original showcased at The Television Critics Association in Los Angeles on 27th July, 2019.  The series has been produced and directed by Raj & DK (Go Goa Gone, Shor In The City), and marks the digital debut of two-time National Film Award winning actor, Manoj Bajpayee, along with National Film Award recipient, Priyamani.     Amazon Prime Video announces ‘Breathe’ S2

    MUMBAI: Amazon Prime Video today announced that it has commenced the production of an all-new season of the Prime Original Series, Breathe. Created by Abundantia Entertainment, the second season of the show also marks the digital streaming on-screen debut of Bollywood star Abhishek Bachchan. The show will continue to be directed by Mayank Sharma while Bhavani Iyer, Vikram Tuli and Arshad Syed are writers of the show. Actor Amit Sadh returns in his award-winning role as Kabir Sawant.

    In its first season, the gritty psychological thriller won the hearts of Prime viewers across multiple geographies with a gripping storyline, bold narrative, and impactful performances by the cast led by superstar R Madhavan and Sadh. Now, the second season of the show has gone into production.
