    &TV set to bring new show ‘Mauka-E-Vardaat: Operation Vijay’

    Mumbai: &TV is set to bring a new crime show titled “Mauka-E-Vardaat: Operation Vijay” on Monday at 7 p.m. 

    The show is the new edition of its popular series “Mauka-E-Vardaat” featuring stories of fantasy supervillains and how ‘Operation Vijay’ – a special task force comprising the sharpest and bravest police officers, combats these ferocious criminals and their unearthly powers.

    The show features actors Aman Verma, Chetan Hansraj, Tanya Abrol, Piyush Sahdev, Sonali Nikam, Ankit Arora, Aishwarya Raj Bakhuni, Dawood Khan, and Ansha Sayed playing the cops.

    An expert and enlightened genius called Newton Chattopadhyay who unravels the minds of the supervillains will be the show’s highlight. This role is essayed by actor Narendra Gupta. “This series will offer viewers a whole new world of superpowers, fantasy, crime, and criminals. As an expert in unravelling crimes, Newton will give viewers a preview into the criminal’s minds and their superpowers. He is a master of both modern and yogic sciences,” said Gupta about the show.

    Zee TV unveils celeb judge line up for ‘Cinestars’

    MUMBAI: Zee TV has announced the people associated with its upcoming talent hunt event Idea Zee Cinestars. In its second edition, the show is going to be judged by Anupam Kher, Pooja Bhatt and Madhur Bhandarkar.

    The show will be anchored by Aman Verma.

    Announcing the initiative, Zee Network SVP Ashish Kaul said, “Idea Zee Cinestars has so far received lots of entries from young candidates who want to make a name for themselves in Indian cinema. The show will provide participants from various cities an opportunity to court fame and fortune by showcasing their acting and dancing skills.”

    He further added, “The hunt will narrow down to two Best performers from the entire nation. 60 participants will be brought down to Mumbai – The City of Dreams, where, over the weeks they will begin to get eliminated to give us the winners of Idea Zee Cinestars.”

    This journey to fame is interwoven with the trials and tribulations of the participants who are hoping to be introduced to Hindi cinema as actors. The journey of these contestants working towards winning the title will be shown as a reality series that will be split into various stages and will essentially showcase the ecstasy, trauma, victory and defeat of participants through 18 weeks, informs an official release.

    The 60 participants are grouped as couples whom Bollywood’s popular directors and choreographers will groom. Viewers, who will vote for their favourite performers through the weeks, will choose the Best couple., the release adds.

    Star Plus & BR Films announce prime time serial ‘Viraasat’ launch

    MUMBAI: Star Plus has slotted the BR Films production Viraasat in its 9 pm weekday primetime slot. The serial features Sangita Ghosh and Rohit Roy in the title roles.

    “Our currently running 9 pm soap Miilee had reached its logical conclusion, so it is imperative for us to launch a show which could fit well into the bigness of primetime 9 pm band and be a through and through entertainer, too. With Viraasat that’s exactly what we are getting for the viewers,” says Star India Content EVP Deepak Segal.

    “Our endeavor is to dole out a classic family entertainer as it goes on to set its own mark, one which has no precedence, and thereby expect Viraasat to help us consolidate the channel’s supremacy in the primetime slot after having already done so, successfully in the weekend band” he elaborated further.

    Viraasat, would be a multi-starrer family drama that will have a strong line-up of television’s popular faces including Kiran Kumar, Deepak Quazir, Aman Verma, Amarr Upadhyay, Jayati Bhatia and Pooja Raval Ghai.

    The serial will tell the story of two people Rahul Lamba- played by Rohit Roy & Priyanka Kharbanda – played by Sangita Ghosh, who are madly in love with each other, however are bound by an age old enmity between their warring families, the release adds.
